We had a new hot water tank installed in November to the tune of $1,300+. The installer did a great job. No complaints about the service we received. At the time of our initial discussion, we were informed that because our existing tank was installed in 2006, we would need to have an electrician come in to see if we might need to update our electrical panel.
They would take care of contactcontacting an electric company. AT NO TIME in this discussion were we told that there would be an extra charge for this. Since they were handling choosing the company, we assumed that the fee was included in the estimate we were given. Last week, we received a bill for $125 from Venice Electric. over 3 months after the tank was installed!
The guy was here less than 5 min. He literally open the panel, said we were fine, closed it and left! BUYER BEWARE! Plumber John did NOT disclose this extra fee and will NOT take responsibility for it!

Our HOA management service sent PlumberJohn to check a leak. It turned out to be a bad wax seal in a toilet. The charge was $272. Incredibly high charge for what is a routine half hour job by even a rookie plumber. For comparison a neighbor had an old toilet removed and a new installed for $75 by different plumber. Definitely get a price upfront before using or ordering work.
