Big City Plumbing

Big City Plumbing is my go to vendor for all plumbing needs. This most recently was made clear when we remodeled our bathroom and kitchen and the first contractor's plumber was a disaster. Calling BCP was the first really good move I mad on the projects. Their team was responsive to all my needs even when the job was clearly extensive (we moved from an initial small shower to a monster walk in and relocated it to the other end of the bathroom). It was a massive project and they handled it with a grace and level of expertise that I have not found in any other plumber in San Antonio. A definite 5 star effort!

We have been using big city now for at least 2 years. and have always had a great experience! The owner has even called me to make sure I was happy with everything. I can always call them and they get the problem fixed! No matter what it is!

Wonderful company! We were concerned about a potential gas leak by our hot water heater and called Big City to come check. They arrived on time and did a thorough job checking the gasline for leaks. They found the problem and gave me an estimate to fix it right then. I appreciated the fact that they didn't try to "up sell" the job. They just worked on fixing the issue with the leak. This is the second time we've used this company and will definitely call them for any future plumbing issues.

Thank you to Gerald and James for a job well done today! They arrived early in the window as scheduled, and the office gave me a call when they were on the way! I had them replace the faucet in the sink in the master bath with an upgrade. They did the job quickly and at a lower price than quoted by another plumbing company. They did the job in less than an hour.

They cleaned up and took away all the disposable items. We are very happy customers! I joined the preferred customer program and will be scheduling another plumbing job with them in the fall. We live in a neighborhood with very high water pressure, which can be hard on all plumbing fixtures. Big City Plumbing is amazing. Diagnose your problem fix and leave. Chris is extremely knowledgeable. In the past he has fixed things other people could not. Very glad to have there yearly subscription service for a 10 percent discount every time they have boots on ground.

Chris and James were completely professional. They were kind enough to take the time to explain what they were going to do and then showed me the Great results. I even got a compliment on my Star Wars posters. On time, friendly and reliable service. I will recommend Big City to family and friends.

We purchased our old home and had several issues to take care of. Big City was the most responsive, affordable, and upfront of the 4 plumbers I contacted. I'm very happy with their workmanship and I have already used them for several issues, including water softener and filtration system. I'm a new homeowner and it can be scary to deal with big and expensive issues but I am SO glad I found Big City.

Cris and James replaced our toilet. They were very professional and explained everything as they did it. They were very efficient and a pleasure to have do work in our house. We have used Big City Plumbing for 7 years and they have always come in a timely fashion and done a wonderful job. In January we had Joey and Joseph out as our outside faucet was leaking.

They replaced the bad stuff and now it is as goo as new. I would have written how great they were but I couldn't get on Google. Now I can give them a shout out at how we appreciated how quickly they came and how expertly they took care of the problem. Thank you Big Ciy Plumbing.

2 AM the "water" alarm went off near the water heater. It wasn't the heater itself, but the expansion tank was leaking. I called Big City Plumbing right at 8 AM and was told it would be the next afternoon. Oh Lord, I had already dumped out 3 buckets of water. A few minutes later they called back that since the expansion tank only takes about an hour, they could squeeze me in. THANK YOU.

It was around 10:30 when Gerald texted that he was on his way. True, it didn't take too long to replace the expansion tank; however, the tank leaked because our water pressure was too high. We had a pressure regulator installed years ago at the water softener. That is now out of code. Gerald and his partner worked another 2 hours removing the old pressure regulator and digging up the ground to install another one by the water meter. THANK YOU so much. Not sure I could have stood hours more of dripping noise and dumping the 1.5 gal bucket every two hours. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND BIG CITY PLUMBING.

Chris and James did a great job fixing our disposal and adjusting our shower head too. Both men were very friendly and professional. Chris answered all our questions and repaired our disposal quickly and efficiently. We thought we'd need to replace our shower head, because of low water pressure, but they adjusted the settings, and it works like a charm. Prices were very fair. I highly recommend Big City Plumbing!

I was very pleased with the professional and courteous work done by Joey and his helper. I had a small gas leak near my gas meter. He located it quickly and got it fixed. I will be using this company again in the future.

Very pleased with using Big City Plumbing, from initial contact with Rafaela through payment. Luis and Tim showed up promptly and immediately got to work to fix the issue, explaining everything to me along the way. They were very clear with pricing and made sure i was ok with their recommendations without pressuring me for the sale. I felt very confident with the work they completed. Gerald and his assistant Joseph were extremely helpful, quick and professional diagnosing our leaking water heater and changing out our shower steam unit. They installed a water pressure regulator for us and then were able to come back out and replace our water heater. They answered all of our questions and were very efficient. Rafaela answered the phone every time I called and worked hard to organize everything and take care of us. I will definitely join the preferred customer program and they are my "go to" plumbing company from now on!

Had a great experience with Big City Plumbing from scheduling to job completion. Joey and Tim could not have been more personable and accommodating. They were professional and engaging and I had a great deal of confidence in their knowledge and skills. I needed a particular part and Joey sent Tim to look for it while he continued to work at the house. This saved time which saved me money and I so appreciate them doing this. Cannot recommend Big City Plumbing enough! Luis and James were so helpful the past few weeks. Initially, we had them run gas to our fireplace so we could enjoy a warm fire this winter. I was very impressed with Timothy and Joe. They were very polite, clean and explained every detail of the job. Our laundry room drain is now clog free and running great. We discovered a leak in our front yard on Sunday. We called and left a message and were contacted first thing Monday morning. The technician came out that same day in the afternoon and fixed it within 2 hours or less. They let us know they were on their way 30 minutes prior to arriving and their price was reasonable.

Family-owned (husband and wife team) that does an excellent job with complex plumbing issues! They helped out my Mom after the major snow storm earlier this year (2021). The plumbing team they sent to her rental was knowledgeable, timely and highly communicative! Definitely recommend for personal or commercial jobs. (The plumbers are all also randomly very handsome, which totally helps haha!)

This is the third time they have come to help and I couldn't be happier. They came to repair a water heater but we went for a new one, second time our toilet gave out and they got and installed a new one, this time was the garbage disposal. I'm happy to say they are very professional, timely, affordable, and so knowledgeable about their trade. I also appreciate they are very respectful, honest, and transparent about their work.

And I love that they teach a younger generation of plumbers. After dealing with other companies they by far exceeded my expectations and now they are my go to. Thanks to Paul and James for coming by today !

These guys rocked! After the big freeze we needed a new water heater and help with a clogged toilet, nothing emergency, so they told us they would put us on the list and get to us after the emergencies were taken care of. It only took a few days. I wasn't expecting to hear from them for a couple of weeks so I was really pleased. Peter Smith and Joey came out and replaced our OLD water heater, fixed our clogged toilet, answered all of our stupid questions and gave us recommendations.

Totally professional all around. Really pleased with the service. Will be my go-to plumbers going forward. So nice to deal with a company like this, even including Rafaela on the phone. Thanks!

Joey and James arrived wearing masks and foot coverings on their shoes. They worked on a couple issues in my restroom - a busted toilet flange and leaking shower plumbing that needed replacing. They worked quickly and efficiently. Joey explained what needed to be done and showed me the repairs once completed. They didn't go over their initial estimate and charged me exactly what was quoted initially. I definitely plan to call Big City Plumbing in the future and will refer them to family and friends.

Unprofessional, incorrect information given by operator on initial call. Didn't fix the issue with the first visit, had to come out again and wanted to charge an additional amount for something that was still broken. Peter and his helper that came out today didn't even want to stay to try and help the issue while I was on the line with the operator trying to understand the wrong quote given on the phone.

During which, the guys outside were in a hurry to leave and didn't want to wait while we sorted out the price details. When Travis, the owner, called after the fact he said that the operator doesn't have the correct information because she isn't the technician. Hmm, but she is the front line of your company right? He wanted to argue and be unprofessional.

I understand it's Christmas Eve, people want to be home with their families but do not give out incorrect information to begin with, don't schedule your workers to work when the don't want to and don't argue with customers *after* the fact. I am well aware that "services aren't free" as Travis so *professionally* stated, but if the issue is still not working after they've attempted to fix the drain with a snake (even though we told them we already did that), a little ownership and good business ownership should at least be felt and offered try to help the situation and understand where the customer is coming from instead of arguing to try and keep their pride.

Super pleased with this company. First review- showed up on time and was quick to respond with an answer to our problem. Broken water line. Done within 20 minutes, since I dug the hole day prior. Cris was courteous and answered my questions as to how to assess the problem in the future. Customer service was great and very thorough about pricing. I give them 5 stars.

The service that Big City provides is first class. Starting from my initial call, the customer experience is positive as the plumber arrived on time was very professional and explained the issue and process to resolve it. I would definitely recommend to anyone that asks for an amazing plumbing company. Peter was awesome, patient and is overall good people! I'm a happy repeat customer and will continue to be!

Call BCP due to a clogged toilet. They came out the same day and advised me that the toilet was clogged and one of two things needed to be done. The plumber called back to tell me he was unsuccessful but an invoice amount of $249 needed to be collected. I have never had a company charge me more than a set trip fee when the problem wasn't resolved. I won't be using this company again.

Contacted Big City Plumbing through Yelp's messaging system on January 14, 2020 at 9:31 A.M. Travis C. replied five minutes later with a list of availability dates and times. He also provided a preliminary quote. When I explained to Travis C. that I could not schedule an appointment by phone, he scheduled the appointment for me. At 12:47 P.M., Travis C. confirmed my appointment for Monday, January 20, 2020 between 12:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M.

On Monday, January 20, 2020 at 12:57 P.M., Tony and Josh arrived at my home. Prior to beginning work, they wore disposable shoe covers. They also provided upfront pricing. $295 for the following: (1) Haul away water heater. (2) Remove corrugated copper pipes and solder on male adapters for easy unthreading in the future. (3) Remove cold-water supply shut off valve and solder on new lead-free copper-alloy ball valve (KITZ No. 858 600 WOG). (4) Install stainless-steel connector (3/4 in. FIP x 3/4 in. FIP x 24 in.). (5) Provide an extra stainless-steel connector for hot-water outlet. (6) 90-day warranty that covers service and labor; however, "parts installed as part of the work by Big City Plumbing, LLC is covered by the manufactures warranty only.

Customer shall have no recourse against Big City Plumbing, LLC for the defects in parts utilized." At 2:11 P.M., work and billing were done. It has been three days since Tony and Josh were at my home; no defect in workmanship has been detected so far. I look forward to hiring Big City Plumbing again.

Just remember, plumbing service is expensive regardless. If I could do the work myself I would but I cannot. That being said, I began using Big City Plumbing this last year at my residence and now, I am using them at my rental. I like Homer, the best. He is friendly and answers all my important and silly questions. He tells me what to expect and what work he finalizes.

He gives me advice and directs me regarding future plumbing work. I have always had the staff answer my phone calls quickly and respectfully and book an appointment according to my needs. I am very satisfied with Big City plumbing and feel I can trust their promises, work and pricing. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of this service.

We recently had BCP come out to scope our lines during the inspection of our home and our realtor requested a quote on our behalf for the items found during the inspection as well as what was notated on our inspection report. We scheduled the appointment based off this correspondence and the assumption BCP had an understanding of the work that needed to be completed.

Upon their arrival, he seemed completed confused about what was supposed to be done and that his scope stated nothing about going under the home (which was called out in the report we provided). He stated taht he called the office and they claimed to have never received this information (our emails contradict this). After wasting an hour I finally told the guy to leave since he had no idea what to do.

When we notified them about the issues, Kristin responded stating that it was our fault and took no ownership of their deficiencies and inability to perform other than to offer us a 10% discount. This quote was used as part of our negotiations and now that it seems to have been inadequate we will end up paying more to have the required repairs completed. *Update for Todd's response* Not sure if you read my review or not, but I already tried reaching out and this was your response.

You are more than welcome to contact me with an amicable solution, but don't post on here as though you are trying to resolve the issue when no steps are being made on your part

It was a pleasure working with Big City Plumbing. I am an out-of-town landlord so it's always difficult finding a business you can trust. Kristin made the process easy and informative the entire way, from getting a quote to scheduling the repair to paying the invoice. Toby was on site exactly when scheduled, performed the work expertly and the final invoice matched what was quoted. I will definitely use them again.

Today I had Homer and TY from Big City Plumbing come to my home. Both were extremely polite and professional. Having the same trouble arise several times after other plumbing companies had come I decided to give Big City a try. I couldn't be more impressed Homer was thorough and was determined to find the issue versus finding a quick fix. Homer and Ty took great care in my home making sure to wear booties on themselves and there equipment even though I told them it wasn't necessary but they insisted.

I was also very surprised how reasonable the price was compared to the other prior companies had been. If you ever need a good honest company I recommend Big City. Thank you Big City for sending Homer to my home today!

Another job well done! I've used Big City plumbing for years. Toby did a great job today on my broken pipe. Their plumbers are always polite, courtesy, informative and prompt. Our water heater broke on a Sunday evening. My husband searched Yelp for plumbers and saw the great reviews for Big City Plumbing. He sent them an email that night with our problem. At 9am the next morning, they called to schedule an appointment for 10:30am the same day. They were on time, polite, courteous, and fixed the problem quickly. We highly recommend Big City Plumbing!

TWO VISITS. I had a leaky shower faucet because the hot water knob wasn't sealed right. They replaced it and it worked fine for a bit, but the same thing happened. They gave me about $100 discount for the previous work, applied it to the new work, and replaced the two knob system with a single knob. Works great thus far. Small complaints. I think they could improve their service if they left itemized receipts of any parts they bought as well as the services provided. Speaking of parts, if parts are required and they know that ahead of time, they should have let me know so I can go out and find a set I like so they can install it.

When installing the single shower knob, they left dust everywhere from the tile drilling. Obviously, I don't expect them to clean my whole bathroom, but at least the tub area where they were working. They also kept leaving and coming back because they "didn't have the right equipment". I understand there are different models, but surely there are general tools you should expect to have especially when the issue was explained before setting the appointment, ie "oh, I'm working on installing [item], so I usually need these tools". It's just little things that added up. In conclusion, good work, could be better executed. Thank you
