Unfortunately, I made the mistake of calling Carter Services for an estimate to replace a gasket for a commercial freezer. They first insisted that we had to replace the whole door when the only problem was with the gasket coming loose. After explaining to the technician that we would not be purchasing a new door they finally gave us a quote to replace the gasket which was between 500-600 dollars.
I called the freezer manufacturer to see how much a new gasket would cost through them and it came out to 43.16 and takes less than 10 minutes to install with no tools needed. Unless you want to be taken advantage of I recommend staying away from Carter Services

I needed the gasket seal replaced on the freezer of my refrigerator freezer. Isaac explained the problem showed me how the underside of the gasket had hardened and then carefully explained what I needed to do to thaw out the freezer and prepare for the replacement part to be installed. When he returned a few days later with the part he was quick and neat. Patiently answered my questions and overall a great experience!

My 78 year old Mom's over the range microwave went out. So I called Carter. He showed up on time. He came to the conclusion that the fan was bad. He puted me $576 to replace a $49 fan part. I told him my Mom was just squeaking by on Social Security and was barely getting by. He looked at me and said well, do you want to do this or not. So we just bought a new microwave for $300 and I installed it for $22.
What is wrong with this company. Will never recommend or use Carter ever again. Do not call because it was $98 for him to tell me that it was going to be basically $600. What a JOKE!

Ken did a great job of regular maintenance service for my subzero refrigerator, drawer refrigerators, under cabinet refrigerators & wine refrigerator. He replaced a water filter, as well. I have him check my appliances yearly hoping that by servicing them I won't have to replace them too soon. In the past he has also satisfactorily repaired my oven, cooktop & outdoor BBQ. I highly recommend Carters Appliance Company & Ken in particular.

I have used Carter Services at least 25 years. The staff calls you back, keeps you informed and accommodates your schedule when securing an appointment for you. My last need was a chip that went out on my Jennair oven which took a few months to get back into stock. Tony called monthly to inform me of the status. Once the part arrived. I was fortunate to have technician Winson come to the house to install the parts. As usual, his quality of work is above and beyond and, he tidied up where he was working. Carter's in my opinion, is supremely customer focused and I appreciate them!

It was extremely disappointing. I was told on the phone the assessment was going to be $89 to service refrig and since they were coming out to give me price on parts for my wolf range. I didn't ask for anything but to give me cost on a specific part for the range. Well they charged me $89 for frig assessment like I asked & agreed on, but they added another $60 fee for the frug plus charged me $60 to give me price for the part on the range. This am additional $120 on top of what was as I was going to be charged. I got screwed.

We have used Carter Services for plumbing repair for many years and have been very pleased with their service. Yesterday we needed replacement of multiple electrical fixtures and the Carter electricians Carlos Rios and Robert Martinez did the installations very professionally and efficiently. As usual we were very impressed with Carter employees and would recommend them without reservation.

I had a stove that needed two igniters for two burners (as they could only be lit with a lighter), so I called Carter's. They charged me $98 to tell me it would be $1,000 to fix the stove. I told them I can buy a new stove for $500 and my used stove was only worth $250, so of course, I declined. I bought the parts online (2 orifices that included the igniters) for $100 and my husband installed them, and the stove works great. Don't waste your money paying $98 to get a crazy bid just so they can make $98 going house to house (making money with bids that be will declined, without having to do any work). Just look up the parts and repair videos first.

The ceiling in my garage sprung a bad leak, damage and origin was unknown to me. It looked like I might need a new ceiling. I called Carter Services and they dispatched Ben in a very timely fashion. He was kind, professional and courteous. After his assessment, he discovered and repaired what could have been a disastrous situation. A burst pipe was the culprit.
The price was quite reasonable, he was very tidy and my water supply is now back to normal. I highly recommend Carter Services and give Ben a 10 out of 10 on a job well done. Thanks for bringing water back into my home. -Sean K.

Edgar was excellent. He quickly diagnosed a minor problem and fixed with a cleaning. He stayed to ensure that the heater worked. He only charged us the on-site diagnosis fee which was very reasonable. I really loved that they emailed the invoice that contained excellent description of the issue and the fix. I will call Carter services for any issue

I called Carter Services for a dishwasher repair on the recommendation of a friend. I am very happy I did. I received a text with the picture and name of the technician letting me know he was on his way. He arrived at the earliest time within the time window I was given. My technician was Alex Mejia and he was professional and courteous and explained the repair and what was needed.
I was told the price of the part and labor and paid a deposit at the first visit. They followed up and scheduled a return visit and again Alex arrived at the earliest point of the time window, completed the repair, and tested everything out to make sure all was in working order. I paid the balance of the bill, no surprises. I highly recommend using Carter Services for any appliance repairs and will continue to rely on them for home appliance repair needs.

He quickly discovered the problem and also was so well skilled saw glaring errors a previous service person had made when they had performed a service call. We have used Carter Services' technicians Jerry and Tall Isac in the past to repair our built-in refrigerator and freezer, and we feel they have always been honest and forthright with us. This week our freezer had a part of the door hinge break. Carter Services was so busy that they weren't able to come for 3 days. But because of my busy schedule on our appointment day, Tall Isac made an effort to fit us in at a convenient time for me, of which I am very appreciative.
He quickly took care of the freezer hinge, saving us a lot of money by not recommending an unnecessary expensive repair. While there, he found an error on our fridge, and took the time to try to diagnose the problem. Again, he saved us money by recommending an easier solution. He has a loyal customer with our family!

Been using carter services for many years, and they have repaired dishwashers, washing machines, and refrigerators countless times. quality, timeliness, and professionalism have always top notch. however, the past few experiences have been less so. Sergio is very imposing and doesn't seem willing to work with people. very hard to give a positive review.

BUYER BEWARE! What a bunch of theives! I had them come out to give me an estimate on fixing the ice machine on my LG refriegerator. They quoted me a $645 dollar charge. It didn't take a genius to figure out I was getting ripped off and sure enough, I had another fair, and honest company come out and repace a $15 switch. Shame on you, for ripping off your customers! I hope you go out of business and people know about your disreputable company!

I set-up an appointment yesterday and was in conformance with the Diagnosis Trip Charge. I called today to get clarification if the Diagnosis Trip Charge was applicable toward the repairs. I was provided an answer and was once again in conformance. Subsequently a short while after I called, I get a harassing phone call from Kevin Martin regarding the earlier call requesting clarification.
I mentioned to Kevin that it's very typical for vendors to charge a Diagnosis Charge, I understand that. But it's also very typically for vendors or service repair company's to apply the diagnosis or trip charge towards the labor for the repairs. Kevin reported that this was not their business model and unfortunately if they have to return to make the repairs, the Diagnosis Charge would not be applied towards the labor.
I informed him that I was good with that and just needed the clarification. What came next was a barrage of harassment from Kevin Martin who without cause or merit cancelled my appointment. I was left speechless with nothing to say but a not so kind gesture and hung up on Kevin. I feel that Kevin Martin unjustly exercised unreasonable malice for his misunderstanding regarding my right for the clarification of terms and service.
I explained to Kevin on multiple occasions that I was good with the clarification. But what came next from him was complete harassment. I am appalled and would like to discuss my grievance with the principal.

We use Carter's for Appliance repair, AC and Heating maintenance and now electrical. Without a doubt, their technicians are as, or more courteous and efficient than any I have worked with in over 40 years of being a homeowner One thing that stands out, is they take time to be sure we really understand the cause of the problem and the communication with their office and back to ourselves is seamless. I believe the management goes out of its way to hire pleasant employees because from the office managers down, they are all fantastic. I highly recommend this company.

First time using this company and would definitely use again and refer friends and family. Jesse was on time and professional. He made sure to explain exactly what he was doing and the charges before beginning the work. He worked quickly and was extremely thorough. Overall we couldn't be happier with him and the service he provided. Thank you Carter Services. We would definitely personally request Jesse should we need any further repair in the future!

This review replaces one I'd made before, some years back, where apparently I'd had some trouble with getting an appropriate part for my new NXR range that Carters installed for me. This same appliance, eight years later, needed additional service when the oven failed to work this last weekend. On the recommendation of a friend and the Nextdoor app, I called Carters to ask if they could fit me in for oven repair.
The woman on the phone was very accommodating of my schedule, and Ivan got here right on time with a new ignitor in his van. Ivan did terrific work, the oven is now operational, and even though it was not a cheap repair I'm very happy. The appointment, the repair, the communications were smooth and stress-free. Everyone was great.

I called Carter services based on a recommendation from my dishwasher manufacturer after my dishwasher just stopped working. Making the appointment was fast and efficient and I also added my gas oven to the list of repairs since it has been having ongoing heating problems for the last 6 months. I received a text message to warn me that the technician, Ivan was on his way.
He quickly found the dishwasher problem due to a wiring problem (caused by the installers which were not Carter) and fixed it. He found that my ignitor in the oven was not working correctly, and that's why it took forever to heat up and made a lot of flaring noises. He stayed to make sure all the appliances were working properly, and was courteous and clean. I definitely will be using Carter in the future and recommend them (especially Ivan) for appliance repairs.

Fixed one thing in my freezer and broke another thing. And won't stand behind their work. Very frustrating and I have a very $$$ frig. Now I feel I need to buy a new one. My garbage disposal was not working. Carter Services sent a technician. They charged a trip charge of ~$90 and 200 for labor. They had a new garbage disposal right in the truck. For expedience, I accepted it. Its cost was ~$650. So, to get this new unit, I spent ~$950. This garbage disposal did not work after a few months. I called Carter Services again.
The technician, Miguel Rodriguez was going to charge me the same amount, ~$950 for another new unit. I protested. It should still be under warranty. The technician went outside the house to make a call. He came back in and told me that I should call the manufacturer for a new unit. Once I get the unit, he will come back and install it without charging me labor and trip charge.
I called the manufacturer, Insinkerator. Within 2 weeks, I received a brand new unit for free. I am appreciative of their customer service. That's when I found out that the unit they charged me for $650 actually only cost ~$250 online. What markups! I called Carter to install the unit. EXCELLENT! After another outstanding experience with Carter Services, I'm posting another review. It was easy to schedule a repair appointment for my dryer, the technician Sergio arrived promptly, he diagnosed the two problems I identified, and he completed the repair option that I chose. With the pandemic-related impacts to the global supply chain, I was trying to keep my current and older dryer safely operating for another few months until a new washer and dryer arrive that are backordered from another company. Earlier this year I had another great Carter service call to repair our dishwasher (no doubt from the overuse of being at home so much over the last year). I appreciate the professionalism, fair pricing, and quality work I can always rely on from Carter Services!

I was impressed initially - easy to schedule appointment, I appreciated the reminder call confirming the appointment and a text letting me know the technician was on his way. But I don't appreciate a technician coming to look at the ice maker for 3 seconds, declaring it needs to be replaced and then handing me an estimate to replace it for nearly $530 without any effort to fix it. $90 call to tell me what I already knew, it's broken. Got it.
I didn't realize they couldn't/wouldn't even try to fix it. I asked if I could easily buy the part and install it - "I'm not here to train you" was his response. Turns out the ice maker part is only $139 (they were charging $250 for it) and VERY easy to install (literally one screw and a plug) and they wanted another $200 for the labor.
Total rip off. If he had told me that it was easy to do and order myself, I would know I could trust this company in the future when there were bigger issues we couldn't handle and they would have become our go-to company for service when we needed help with something more challenging. Instead they handed me a $530 estimate for a $130 part that basically slips right into place. You've lost my business and I hope others read this and stay away and avoid being ripped off by your shady technicians. EDIT: I received a call today from one of the owners - I absolutely respect and appreciate his willingness to have a conversation about what happened and it gives me more confidence in their business model.

Used Carter Services to install a instant hot water unit---plumber said it would take 2 hours----no mention of the hourly charge---and 2 1/2 hours later (we had to help him hold the unit while he had trouble screwing it in) and that's when he informed us---$180 an hour----! Total cost $536. If we had known that---we would never had used this service---called the office---was told they DO NOT QUOTE OVER THE PHONE. Instead of getting into an argument with the plumber---decided to pay it and take it up with the Carter and they offered $90 off?

OUTSTANDING service. Our Thermador range started malfunctioning and the manufacturers were unable to send a technition for over two weeks, so pointed us towards Carter Services as an approved vendor around Redondo Beach. Spoke to Denise on the phone who was understanding, patient and empathetic. She managed to secure an appointment within 4 hours - a huge relief.
Out technition was James Mora who was absolutely brilliant. He was prompt, thoroughly inspected the stove, identified the problem, gave tips on maintanence, explained helpful features and charged the flat callout fee. The whole process took under 30 minutes. Really impressed - we'll be using them again in the future. THANK YOU.
