Duncan Plumbing

We had occasion to use Duncan twice, for two different things, in the same week. They are top-notch providers from the first call to checking in after the work is done. They show up on time and do not try to sell you things you don't need. My only sadness is that to get this kind of service, I paid twice the amount I was used to for a basic service.

While we could cover the expense, I would ask a lot of questions if you are on a limited income. If you need help on a weekend, they charge an extra fee on top of their regular rates. Again, the service is the best I've had in years, but it comes at a cost.

When I called the office, they were very helpful. Given that our kitchen sink wasn't functional, I appreciated the day of service. They contacted us prior to showing up, earlier than expected. As a Long term residents of Santa Cruz and a License bonded and insured General contractor I am always completely astounded with the level of professionalism and care with Duncan plumbing. Out of the era of poor service and disappointment Duncan plumbing is a breath of fresh air. With their extremely knowledgeable & friendly staff "which always treat my family and clients as they would their own" you will get the utmost of quality and service.

I contacted Duncan for a sewer lateral inspection on a very tight timeline, and they were able to squeeze in the request at the earliest possible interval. They were also extremely responsive, and got the paperwork out to me, stamped and completed by the county as well, within 48 hours of the inspection. Considering how quickly we needed to move and how late in the process I called Duncan, I was very impressed by their commitment to rapid response and excellent service. I would recommend them to anyone!

I recommend Duncan Plumbing and their team who always provide good service at a reasonably price. On the latest visit Nui installed a water filter at the garage goin into the refrigerator. Previous to that, I had a mainline leak due to stoppage, irrigation leaks, water pressure problems and more. I wish I could remember the names of each individual but all were professional, pleasant and arrived wearing masks - also booties for inside the house. Thanks to all.

Both technicians were great, but Nui in particular went above and beyond: very good at explaining the process of diagnosing and fixing my sewer drain. He also told me exactly what would happen after the visit in terms of communicating with our park manager and how the billing process would proceed after their work. I highly recommend these guys!

Duncan was great. They took care of my job quickly and took care of a few extra little details that made a big difference. Because of our new heat pump water heater we have fossil fuel free showers! Duncan plumbing was great. We called them needing services during the busy holiday months expecting them not to be available for weeks and it was just the opposite! George and his team were responsive and accommodating to set up a time that worked for us to get the job done asap. We replaced our entire incoming clean water lines as we had old galvanized pumps on the verge of creating a disaster.

It was a 3 day job and they communicated with us each day on the progress and timeline. Everyone for the scheduling staff to our crew were all professional and nice. Highly recommend!

Great Business, Great Plumbing Company! Great communication and great customer service. Work was done with care and with effort to make sure it was done well. MIguel was very, very nice! The knob in the tub wasn't working; it didn't bring the water up through the shower instead out of the tub spout--a small issue but very annoying! Miguel came out at the time promised and fixed the problem. He was careful to explain to me what was wrong and was gone in an hour.

The technician was friendly and helpful. However, their prices are high. There was some attempt at up selling. The technician did a good job and there are no leaks after replacing the bathroom faucets. I have updated my review because they reached out and helped the situation.

My hot water quit on Sunday. I called at 9am Monday and two guys were here by 5pm. When we went down to my basement to look at the water heater, we discovered a foot+ of water in my basement! They stayed calm, shut off the water & got to work. I was NOT calm. To my surprise they put trash bags over their legs & went in! They found & repaired the leak & even pumped out some of the water.

I was so afraid they would tell me to get rid of the water & call them back when its gone, leaving me with no water in the meantime, but they didn't! They dove in and saved the day! Thanks guys, I appreciate you!

I called Duncan plumbing on a recommendation and I live in the county approximately 15 miles from their front door. It turns out that they service Watsonville which is at least 18-20 miles from their front door and despite needing two separate services performed, they blew me off.so I thought I'd return them the favor.

We called Duncan to request same day emergency service, they were able to dispatch Miguel before the after hours fee kicked in. Miguel is very knowledgeable, happy to describe his work and offered tips. He came ready to get water running again. We are very pleased with Duncan's customer service and Miguel's workmanship. By the way, in our desperation to get water running again, we called other plumbing companies and even they recommended Duncan for same day requests.

We had a leak and we were unsure of its origin. Duncan Plumbing quickly worked to add us to their scheduling to help me as soon as possible. They were extremely communicative and professional. Once at my home, the plumber worked efficiently to identify where the link was coming from. Once the leak was found, the work was done well and the area left clean. Great service! Felt safe! So extremely pleased with the expediency of service by Jorge at Duncan Plumbing Santa Cruz. He arrived on time (actually early after getting a call to see if that was ok) for pricing consult/quote of a non-emergent water heater exchange, along with new connections, etc. While the price quote was not the cheapest compared to the others I'd already gotten, it was more inclusive of all the necessary work & needs. Jorge knew all the current rules/regulation entailed.

He was also available to do the full project right away. I felt safe in his knowledge, capabilities, & space. So yay. Project done & no potential future worries about my water heater. So, grand thanks to Jorge. Also, must say that all prior phone/online contacts were very pleasant setting up my appointment. Duncan Plumbing has a wonderful team & they clearly care for their customers & about customer service. They even called me the day after just to check & make sure all was ok. Duncan Plumbing saved me from insanity yesterday! They were fast and efficient and came 20 minutes after my call! George and Ramiro wore their masks and were very professional. Anytime I need plumbing and YES it is usually an emergency they show up and do the job RIGHT! I trust their work and their work has never failed me! I HIGHLY recommend Duncan Plumbing Santa Cruz for ALL your plumbing needs!

Rip off. they quoted me $2300 to install a new recirc pump (part normally costs $100), pressure valve (costs about $50) and another cheap valve (maybe $30). so the total parts cost was less than $200 therefore it was $2100 was for 4 hours of labor. This is on top of 45 min it took them to diagnose the issue and they charged me $320 for that! Found another guy that charged me about $600 for parts and labor.

We had a great experience with them replacing the electronics on our 25-year-old radiant system. They were super easy to schedule (including a couple of delays at our request), showed up on time, finished within their estimated window, and gave us a detailed orientation to the new controls.

I have used them quite a few times in some emergency situations and they have always come through with a quick response time. I would say not the cheapest but I would also say plumbing is not really the best place to skimp on price. They are very responsive in the office to dispatch crews and we have used them for a leaky toilet to full-on digging up lines in the driveway to repair.

They may or may not do excellent work once they arrive. But they made me wait through 2.5 hrs of a 3 hr time window and then said they could not do it that day, and gave no opportunity for reschedule in the near future. I understand that work may take longer than expected, and they may on a given day be shorthanded. Then offer a next-day reschedule (with definite time and discount). This is what airlines do when they overbook. Not to do this simply means sloppy business practice. Crossed off my list.

I don't like writing negative reviews, but we had a problem with our hot water heater and these guys came over and did not help, did not fix the issue and gave us wrong advice. I had another plumber come over and they fixed the problem right away.

Great service. Came out within 3 hours of my call on a Saturday. I lost all outflow from our ADU, figured it was the aging sewage ejection pump and I was looking at $3000+. Eric came out, super nice, uncovered the pump (it had been covered with gravel for some reason), and pulled out a big vine that had crawled into it and obstructed the drain. No broken pump, no ejector replacement. $300 for over an hour of digging in the hot sun. Definitely adding Duncan Plumbing to my go to list, and when the pump inevitably blows (it's over 10 yrs old), tI will call them to fix it.

Of course our toilet started acting up on a Friday. I contacted Duncan Plumbing and got an immediate response and an excellent quote! They were at my home within hours. Nui the technician was knowledgeable and explained what was going on. It was repaired under an hour and I wasn't left broke. I highly recommend Duncan Plumbing and would 100% use them again.
