This company replaced a water heater for me and did a good job. When the plumber got through he told me that the water softener was not working so he disconnected it. What? I was never consulted. He said I should buy a new one and their company could install it. I did just that, called them when it came in, got the appointment. So a "newbie" comes out from Val's and proceeded to get to work on install.
He was here for hours. Then we go out to garage area w/new water softener and it is flooding the floors. So we unplug it, my husband is draining some water out, cleaning the floors, moving things, etc. My husband calls again. They send Aaron Scott back out. He's working on it again, says something about an overflow and proceeds to work on the softener.
He does tell me that he was not familiar with my brand of water softener and that he had never installed one. Needless to say we are not happy with this company. Homeowner Beware! The install bill was so overwhelming. When they sent the installer back out I received another bill. Ok, so your installer messes up, then I call to let you know and I get another bill? Wow what a company.

Our Water heater cracked a leak on Wednesday called Vals plumbing just because I always see their trucks up and down the Salinas Valley. I was a little bummed out they couldn't get a guy out to me till the following Monday so I rigged the water heater to drain out to a bucket, but I was happy that I waited because once Monday came our plumber Mark arrived right on time gave awesome customer service and changed out our old water heater to a new one and a reasonable price. Highly recommend Vals plumbing.

My pipes were singing! I lost sleep and we were tired. So tired of it that when the plumber came to fix the 3 toilets hubby did not ask him to wear a mask, nor did he offer, or did he have on any shoe covers. We are in a pandemic! I am an RN and of course got upset when I came home from my shift at the hospital to learn that my hubby even let this guy in without a mask and shoe covers and gloves!
My husband to appease me, called the manager, who said, "did you ask him to put a mask on? " isn't an employer supposed to provide PPE for the sake of the employees and the public? Not happy with the company for not respecting the safety of my home!

EXCELLENT SERVICE TODAY! We woke up to no hot water this morning. I called and spoke to a very friendly and helpful David at 7:15. He asked several questions about the problem that shows that he really cared about the situation. He scheduled Chris to do the repair between 12 and 2. Chris showed up at 12:30. First thing he discovered was that my water heater was supposed to be wired at 220 volts, but was actually wired for 120 volts. Switched in about 5 minutes.
He determined the tank needed a new heating element. Because of the condition of the interior of the tank, he warned that there could be a major water spill when changing the element. We discussed the options of buying a new heater vs. continuing with the repair, and he provided quotes for both options. 30 minutes later, he had the new element installed, and he was on his way.
Very thankful and appreciative for his professionalism. I also spoke with Allison in the office, who was very friendly and courteous. I could have found a plumber to do the job for less than the $154 an hour that Val's charges.but as I told Chris, I'm glad that I chose someone who knew what they were doing. WELL DONE, VAL'S PLUMBING!

We didn't make it past the rude and unprofessional woman on the phone. It's not hard to speak to people with a little respect, like you wanted their business. Total assholes at Val's. I get that you start charging the second you leave your shop and stop the moment you get back. When we asked what it cost to clean a heating unit she actually said, "I just told you!" If that is how they represent themselves on our first contact I can't imagine how horrible their actual service must be. No thanks, you are not the only heater people in town.

Bad experience! Rude on the phone, then a plumber went to a rental of mine on Wednesday morning, the tenant told me the plumber showed up but nobody ever called me. Thursday at 4pm still no phone call so I call them and the same rude woman reads me the notes "no leak, just needs caulking around the tub". A phone call would have been nice, but if the house needed work they may have called $$$$$

Crooks. Crooks. Crooks. Milked the job by not ordering correct part as I had asked technician. Then, technician came back after going on lunch and ended up ordering part that I had asked for originally. All the while charging me for his time. I paid invoice of $900 Then, a couple of months later my heater broke again. I callee Val's Plumbing and Heating and the manager told me that this was my problem.
This time hired a company from The Home Depot and said that certain parts were manually burned off my heater. However, other company proved to be more honest, ethical and less expensive.

I was charged for two hours for a plumbing problem which was fixed in 5 minutes because I was told the drive time was one hour here and back in his truck, which I was told "can only go very slowly". Another plumber who came from the same area to my home a few months ago and spent 20-30 minutes here charged me 100.00 less. Will not be calling Val's again.

Good Grief I read the whole enchilada about the Italian immigrant that started the business and who could not love that story. Unfortunately the owner isn't working there anymore and the people he entrusts to run the business could care less. I am a property manager with a 26 unit building and I need a good sized company to help with our plumbing needs.
They won't even give me the time of day and I have called them multiple times. NO not going to recommend this outfit. find a better choice. One that I talked to Scott Grider Plumbing took the time to even suggest that since he is a one truck company I try them. Call SCOTT you will be far better off. Complete Plumbing too is a nice guy on the phone. I just need a larger co due to after hours needs.

This company charges a 129 for diagnosis then, per hour. Sounds Reasonable Unless You Are Dealing With "Shady Unethical Milk-iNG crooks". I had it diagnosed with a malfunctioning fan by another. When the Val plumbing technician came out to see it, he agreed and said it would take no more than 15 minutes. When the bill came it was for this price of the part PLUS $$500+ dollars!
The technician said the hours took so long because he tried to use another company and after we had already agreed on the part from the maker of my brand. I probably paid for his lunch break but oh well i paid for it because i didn't want any problems and at least i thought the job was done. Now it blows cold air out. I call them back and I get the "129 then hourly" talk again.
I asked IF I COULD HAVE an estimate ahead of time and David the manager laughs at me. Honest to God Crooks. NOW I see see why they charge per hour and not by job. GET A SECOND OPINION AND DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

I needed a part for my shower and went to the usual "retail" places, Home Depot, Ace Hardware.all very pleasant and helpful but I did not find the part I needed. I decided to call Val's Plumbing and was told they had a retail front. I found the "retail" door and went in. No one was there and I had to ring a bell for service. as soon as I turned around a man was standing there just staring at me. no "good morning", no "how can I help you" no nothing!
So I told him what I was looking for a "positive shut off adapter for a shower", I told him that I had found them online but couldn't find one at the other stores, he said there was no such thing. I asked if he was sure. and he said yes he was. I again asked him and reminded him that they had to exist because they were sold online and he said that the only adapter that could shut off water had to have a ball in them and they didn't make them for showers.
I said that the online adapters did have a ball in it, at which time he reluctantly told me that he "may' have one that might work. He went to the back and came back in seconds with the exact adapter I needed. he then told me it would be expensive, $21 and I said I'd take it. Long story short, very rude, obviously did not want to wait on me, much less help or even sell me the part, which by the way, worked GREAT! Val's Plumbing needs to train all of their staff some basic human relations techniques.
Home Depot and the local Ace Hardware may not have had the part I needed but they had the smile and the "Good morning, how can I help you?". Get with it Val's. in today's world, personal service is what keeps businesses in business!
