Inspections may uncover relatively minor system issues, such as tanks that need to be pumped and baffles that need to be repositioned or replaced, or they may bring attention to plumbing problems, such as leaky fixtures. However, in the event that an inspection reveals a more serious problem that requires repairing or replacing part of your system, you may want to contact your local health department for information and advice.

Beware! I recently had Russell Reid/United Site Services pump out my 1500 gallon (total) septic tanks (500 grey, 1000 black). At the same time I had the grey tank's inlet jetted due to a clog. The guys that came to the house were professional and friendly and the tanks were successfully pumped and inlet cleared. A few days later I noticed what I had been billed a larger than quoted amount of money.
I called the main office to find out what was going on and was told the jetting cost more because of time and that they had pumped 2000 gallons instead of the 1000 gallons which had been quoted. They claim they were onsite for almost 2 hours, my driveway cam shows that was incorrect, they were there for less than an hour. And the claim of them pumping a metered 2000 gallons is also incorrect because the total of my tanks is only 1500, and a usual pumping is roughly 1100 gallons.
To note, it's impossible to utilize the full capacity of your tanks (unless you have a clog in the field) because the inlet/outlet are lower than the top of the tank. I'm still waiting for an update on them fixing the bill and processing a refund. Something that should have also been handled while I was on the phone, not a day or two later.

Used Russell Reid for septic services. Service was prompt even though it wasn't and emergency. However, check your invoices! The invoice I got from the driver indicated a price. The next day the invoice I got with the charge to my credit card was a 225 dollar difference, higher of course. Talked to Michelle in billing twice and was told the driver shouldn't have put the price per gallon on his invoice.
That's my fault because.? They won't refund the difference in price. That's 225 dollars doesn't seem like much but, I really could have used it for groceries to feed my family! Update: After many phone calls, emails, and four weeks later the difference was finally refunded. My rating still stands because this shouldn't have happened at all and, it was only because I became a hassle to them by calling nearly daily that they FINALLY did the right thing.

These guys have just taken over Central Jersey Septic, whom I was a long time client for. Don't use them. I called for emergency service, after a very awkward call with the woman who answered my call, I was told they would get back to me right away after a technician was sent out. An 1 1/2 later, no call back so I called them again, was put on hold, then was finally told they had nobody to sent out.
No apologies, no desire to retain my business, no alternative offered (eg. we can have somebody there right away in the morning.). Save yourselves the trouble and find somebody else.

I was extremely pleased with Russell Reid! I currently live in Florida and have a rental property in New Jersey. They had issues on a Friday afternoon. I called and spoke with Jim who was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained, due to the inclement weather in New Jersey they were short staffed but was very sympathetic to our issue and tried to see if he could help us.
Despite the staffing issues and weather.he was able to send a crew to our New Jersey property. Once they arrived, despite the cold and snow, they worked very hard to make certain our tanks was empty. The tenants were very pleased and and a result, I would highly recommend this company. Thank you very much!
