I don't leave a lot of reviews but I'm happy to leave one for Archer. We have been using William Archer and Sons Plumbing for decades. They are easily the most prompt, professional, and responsive plumbers in the area. They always do a complete and thorough job that stays fixed. never a half way done bandaid fix. Highly highly recommend!

I used their service to replace my water heater. They were very professional and did a full walkthrough with me over everything that needed to get done. They only use top quality products so you know you are getting your moneys worth. They also fixed work that another plumbing company had done incorrectly. This whole company is great and I will recommend them to family and friends and anyone else reading this review.

Had emergency issue with blockage causing a drainage issue. Called William Archer & Sons since they are local to us. Lady answering was very polite and told us someone will be there in an hour. 30 min later we had someone at the house who not only fixed the drainage issue promptly but was very thorough. I liked the attention to detail so asked him to look at a couple other items I would like addressed in the future which he did and provided me with a fair estimate. I had used another plumber for a similar issue many years back and they were not as thorough so highly recommend.

All my interactions with the folks at William Archer & Sons were professional and pleasant. The work was scheduled very quickly, and when it came time for the plumber to come to my house to assess the issue, and to do the repairs, everything was done on time. On the day the plumber came out, the work was completed that morning (this includes the town coming out to shut off and turn on the water from the street), and the plumber cleaned up the worksite.

I was able to cook lunch and dinner that same day; I originally was planning to order take-out. Andy, the plumber, was nice to interact with and it was clear he took pride in his work. If any more work needs to be done on my house, I will absolutely reach out to them again. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get plumbing work done.

Super professional and speedy response times. My company has worked with William Archer for 4 years and we have never had a problem. I called Archer to look at my toilet again as it was repaired by them a few weeks prior, but I felt as if it was still running a little too long after being flushed. Dave from Archer came and made a small adjustment and it was perfect! He also explained what he did and why it was running longer after flushed. He was extremely knowledgeable. He also fixed my shower and it's no longer spitting water from the tub spout when we turn the shower on. He is an excellent plumber and he made my day! Thank you Archer!

Our high efficiency heating system went out over night on one of the coldest night this year. I contacted the office at 6:30 AM and spoke with john who was attentive to my situation and the urgency I needed since I have two small children in the house. Shortly after john and I spoke he sent out his brother Dave who was extremely helpful. He quickly diagnosed my heating problem and was transparent about what cased the failure.

Understanding that I had two small children in the house and that temperature's were going to drop back into the single digits that evening dave assured me it would be fixed same day. Dave genuinely caring about the situation was able to complete the repair and I'm satisfied with the service from start to finish.

Andy and Mike were very professional and helpful with replacing my moms sump pump and pumping out the water from her basement. They were prompt, polite and very respectful. They always do a great job when we call them. We highly recommend Archer Plumbing!

Called Archer Pluming because our boiler shut off, on a Sunday late afternoon. We had no heat and the outside temperatures were in the teens.the house was cold. Chris from Archer came out and tried to get the boiler up and running but it needed a replacement part that only a plumbing supply store might have b/c the boiler is 36 years old. I never prayed so hard in my life hoping they would be able to locate that part. Dave called early the next morning & explained he was on his way to fix our boiler. Dave had the boiler up and running in a couple of hours and we could not be happier! Archer Plumbing did a fantastic job.they are courteous, professional, and know what they are doing! We also used their services a month earlier to replace our hot water heater and that was another great job! I would not hesitate to recommend Archer Plumbing and I have!

I just moved to the area in Old Bridge and first time I called for service. Plumber was at my location less than 10 minutes and charged me over $500. I am US Marine Corps Veteran I think it's a truly disgrace that companies like this are still in business, eventually this all catches up to Sharks like these that take advantage of people. This type of charges are unacceptable. If they have the nerve to do that to me I imagine how many elderly and other people they take advantage of. Will definitely report to BBB.

Plumber showed up on time as scheduled. I showed him where my issues were and he went to work. Extremely satisfied with the work performed and professionalism of the plumber. He reviewed all the work before and after he did it so I knew what to expect. Although the bill was higher than I'd have guessed (to be fair I have absolutely no idea what a plumber should cost) I believe you get what you pay for. Archer Plumbing will absolutely get all of my future plumbing needs.

I had a leak with my irrigation system plumbing. They came within 30-35 min of me calling on a holiday morning. Chris the technician was very friendly and explained the situation. Turned out that it's not an emergency but still something that need to be fixed. Gave me an estimate. No charge for Coming and checking out the situation. I'll get the work done with Archer when I'm ready to schedule. Would highly recommend.

On the plus side, the work performed was fast and professional. The techs themselves were very pleasant and made sure their work environment was spotless after they left. What irked me (and I know the techs have no control over this) was learning that the owner has set fixed MINIMUM prices for certain activities, regardless of how long they took to execute.

So it was a minimum cost of $400 for a clogged sink and $600 (which the tech reduced by $150 as "favor") for a clogged main. In each case, the actual work time was less than 30 minutes. So, at least in the case of Archer, gone are the days of hourly labor prices. I later learned that the same services were performed for dramatically lower costs by other plumbers. So a very expensive lesson learned on my part.

I am sorry to say that in the past I loved Archer but I called for a shower drain cleaning and WITH a $25 coupon, they charged $277. To me, this is a ridiculous price to clear a drain that took less than 10 minutes. Yes, my bad as I should have said forget it or called another company to compare, but it was so backed up I just wanted it done. To be clear, this review is bad because of the price they charged. I would recommend getting prices from others before committing.

Chris showed up promptly tonight, on a weekend evening, and figured out and fixed our clogged-sewer-line problem fast! He was methodical, friendly, and was patient with my many questions about the issue and about his approach. He also explained how to prevent the same problem from happening again in the future. Would call again if we have plumbing woes here in Matawan and will recommend our neighbors and friends to do the same.

After the review this was taken care of. The construction permit was filed and approved by the township. The guy that came to my house I believe was an owner and he expressed this was an oversight and apologized.

Extremely expensive. Got the job done and cost over $1,100 for a clog that took 2 1/2 hours. I just don't understand why a plumber costs about $350 an hour. Nice enough guys but unreasonable. Definitely will look for another option next time.

Both of my water heaters started leaking within 2 weeks of each other and needed to be replaced. (They were 15+ years old). Someone from William Archer & Son came over to give me an estimate (after the first heater started leaking, but before the second). I received a quote for replacing both water heaters and also a quote to add a valve to separate them.

I decided to go with the valve. Instead, the plumber capped the leaky heater which was not discussed as an option. I didn't notice it was a cap and not a valve until after the plumber left. This is the reason for a one star reduction. Everything else about the company was wonderful. I decided to replace both water heaters and called other companies for quotes. William Archer & Sons was by far the best deal - 20% less than the nearest competitor.

They also deducted the amount charged for the capping from the total cost. (As a side note, my second water heater started to leak after making the appointment to replace both water heaters). They also did a great job. There was no way to isolate my previous water heaters in case one leaked, and did not have catch pans. These were put in without asking.

Very knowledgeable. Told me a couple of options I have and what works best for us. They are a business but I don't feel like they are just trying to give us the highest possible ticket job they can tack on. If you need someone who is t going to give you a run around I can highly recommend them.

Called in a complete panic. My sewer line backed up so I needed someone urgently. Within an hour of my frantic call, Mike & Joe were at my house. They gave me up-front pricing. Snaked out the entire line and the house. Even helped me move some things put of the way. They were personable, experienced, professional, quick and courteous. And to add to this, they both took the necessary COVID precautions! For a terrible experience, this was the best out-come and experience I could have hoped for. I absolutely recommend Archer Plumbing!

I have been using Archer Plumbing for years. I have had Andy, Mike, and Chris all provide service on separate occasions. All of the team members are highly professional. Scheduling is also easy and they are very flexible. Rates are very fair given you are getting licensed, bonded, and insured plumbers who get the job done right. Added bonus is that this is a family-owned business in Central Jersey which is always great to see.

Charged me 2100.00 dollars to fix leak near radiator valve. Starting leaking the following day. called back to get the leak fixed. They came back and fixed it. all is well They also adjusted my sink water flow and changed my boiler water tank to a new location.

Awesome job! The plumber was really friendly. No complaints here. Typing another sentence to meet Yelp's minimum requirement.

Had a drain backup and flood our laundry room on Memorial Day. I called at 10pm to leave a message and actually spoke with a person. I told them it was not an emergency and if possible I would like the work done the next day. At 8:15am their 2 employees showed up with masks on and I walked them through the issue. The diagnosed the clog and ran the power snake for about 45 minutes. Issue solved. Great quality of work, clean and neat, and a fair price. All you can ask for. Thanks.

Extremely prompt, did the job required / asked of them, friendly, and professional. If that's what you want, these are the guys. That said, I can't say that I found them to be very "affordable". For a straightforward job, $500 - $650 per hour with little to no parts just seems excessive. I understand that the cost of skilled labor is high but this seemed to be at the very high end of the spectrum.

Very prompt in their service and the check out and installation was well explained. They are very focused on customer satisfaction and willing to negotiate price. I would definitely recommend them.

Our shower stopped working on Thursday morning, and while William Archer & Sons Plumbing was out of my service area, Dave and his apprentice agreed to come out to help us. It turns out that a plastic piece in the assembly broke, which was a relatively easy fix (for them - not us!) We were very happy with the speedy, professional service, and the very kind and genuine attitude Dave and his apprentice brought with them.

They were even sweet and accommodating with our 80 pound pitbull, who is an angel, albeit nosey.she wanted to watch them work.and of course, be pet and shown love. Thank you William Archer & Sons for helping us out of a jam!

We had a pipe leaking one evening and they offered to come that night but they said it would cost us a lot less if we could wait until the next morning. They got here as promised early the next morning and through a thorough search of what the issue was they realized that during the renovations of our home someone shot a nail through the pipe, they fixed the issue and were very professional. Highly recommend for their responsiveness and quality of work.

Don't call this company for anything, I call them for a leaking valve they come in and slap the stickers on my equipment like a bunch of unprofessional j*rk offs.

One Word Fantastic! I had a plumbing mishap in the wee hours of a weekend morning. I looked up several plumbers and came across William Archer and Sons. From there it was a Seamless process. I spoke with John and he referred Technician Shay. Shay was Amazing!.he did the job in record time and the rate was Phenomenal. Thank you guys for being a life saver! I would highly recommend them!

From a professional and timely perspective they are great. From a pricing perspective, they are extremely expensive in my opinion. Over $1200 for a less then $400 part and 1 hour max, 30 minutes to review and provide estimate and 30 minutes to install it next day. So over $800 for labor and other administrative expenses they claim ridiculous. Next time I'll shop around.

The 'Home Depot Special' sump pump that our home's previous owner had installed broke down abruptly leading to a minor flooding in the basement. We were alerted by the water alarm early morning and could get the situation under control temporarily. I called Archer's emergency number at 6:00 AM and John G. arrived promptly at 8:30 AM.

He spent about a couple hours to replace the pump, check valve and added a new discharge pipe. John G. was extremely polite, professional and informative. He helped me understand the higher quality cast-iron pumps, their advantages, life expectancy, etc. Overall, a 5-star experience with both Archer Plumbing and John G. I would definitely recommend them for all of your plumbing needs.
