Heat pump / AC failed. First we have only lived in McMinnville for about 10 months, so we are not very familiar with the service providers in the area. Dr. HVAC was able to come quicker than all others I contacted. Our AC failed the evening of June 20th, 2021, a Sunday and a 90° day. Monday was forecast to be 95°, and the upcoming weekend over 100°.

So our need was urgent! First thing Monday morning we called our normal HVAC service provider, they plus all others we contacted were not able to come until various times in July 10th+, which we were dismayed about given the forecast! We searched the internet for other local vendors, and found Dr. HVAC, when we contacted them, they were able to come the next day (Tue) so we booked an appointment.

On Tue. morning, they contacted us early to ask if they could arrive earlier than scheduled to get an early start on the day, which I am sure was likely going to be a very long day for them, this was great for us and we agreed. They arrived promptly, and got right to work on diagnosing the issue. They found that the run capacitor had failed, and a power relay that had significant scoring and carbon build up on the contacts.

They replaced both components and we were up and running in less than an hour. The service person that came happened to be the owner Michael (I knew this from reviewing their web site), he was very professional in all interactions, offered other preventive actions, as well as contract service. I declined this as I already had coverage (you know, the company that could not come until mid-July).

I am very happy with the serviced provided by Dr. HVAC, I would happily use them in the future, and will consider a maintenance contract with them in the future, once my existing contract expires. Pricing I felt was reasonable. Note, yelp tags me in Newberg, we now live in McMinnville.

This company is incredibly dishonest DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I hired them to come out and vacuum out my vents. They sent their technician guy Alex. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my heating or air conditioning, they were working great up until the time he was out in my garage. My house is barely 3 years old so it is new. He either broke the welding on the vent accidentally or on purpose to get more money I don't know which.

The welding was broken all of the sudden and oil was spraying everywhere along with a whooshing sound. Now he wanted to charge me over $1000 to fix it. He tried to tell me that the people who did the vents did not weld it but it was inspected and welded when the house was built. Now my house is ice cold. Funny how I had no issues until he arrived.

I called and spoke with the manager Marty who quickly dismissed my claim. This company refuses to fix what he broke. I am turning them into the Better Business Bureau. I have another hvac company coming out to take a look at the damage. They said they can tell if the damage was done deliberately. I am a single mother with 2 kids and this company took advantage of me.

I guess with covid they aren't getting the money that they want so they use dishonesty to gain more money. Shame on them all. Now we are in the middle of a winter storm and my heating does not work at all because of Alex. He may have damaged it on accident. I know accidents happen. All I asked was for them to fix what he broke and they refused. Beware of this company. They destroy your stuff. Stay away from them. I turned them nto the BBB so they cannot do this to someone else. If I could have left them no star I would have

York heating unit was installed on our new home by Dr Hvac 3 years ago. I was told over the phone it would cost 81.00 each way (20) miles to make the repair I was charged $112.00 each way. Then the sensor was cleaned not replaced and it is working fine. The thermostat is under warranty so he replaced it. He charged &160.00 to replace the Free item a 10 minute job! They charged us nearly $400.00 to clean a sensor and replace the under warranty thermostat. find someone else, sorry to say!

Our AC went out on sat morning, with 112 degree temps predicted for tomorrow. Brad arrived quickly, was professional and efficient, repaired our AC with parts he had on hand, and saved the day. Thank you, and would highly recommend! Service: A/C system repair

My elderly dad had been without heat for several days by the time I found out his furnace had quit working. I called Dr. HVAC at 3:15 pm on a Friday afternoon. They had a technician at my dad's house within an hour, had the furnace repaired/igniter replaced before 5 pm, and they didn't charge him and arm and a leg. THANK YOU for the great service Dr. HVAC!

Dr. Hvac is a below average company that thrives on taking advantage of customers not having any knowledge of the Hvac industry. The company also rips there employees off by not paying benefits and overtime. This is suppose to be a union shop but 75% of all the work is done by none union workers. If you support unions I would recommend calling another company. If the owners would like to dispute this review then I will be more than happy to get into detail on these issues.

Technician showed up late and then tried to charge an extra 68 dollars for difficult access. Was never told about this extra charge when making the appointment. Had to send the guy away because I didn't have the money at the time. Waste of time. Will make next appointment with another company. Update: the company definitely has proved to me they really care about customer service and will be doing the maintenance now free of charge. Will use this company from here on out.

Called Wednesday as our furnace was acting strange, they were friendly and able to get us scheduled within 2 days (other companies were booked out for 1-2 weeks). The technician showed up today he was extremely professional, on time, and did it for a reasonable price. We will continue to do business with Dr. HVAC.

I have been using them for 3 years. I have a bi-annual heat pump contract that gets the whole system checked out. They let me know what parts are approaching failure and the approximate replacement cost.

The technician was great and very knowledgeable. The company however tried charging an arm and a leg for fixing a simple problem. $850 to replace an $80 part. Went with another company.

Most unprofessional company I've worked with. I bought two maintenance services for $137. The first service went well which is why I give them two stars. They scheduled my second appointment for this morning between 8-9. By 9 o'clock no one has shown up or called to even say they are on their way. So I call the company and they said the technician is leaving the facility now because they were in a meeting.

And that they didn't know it would get in the way of our service appointment. Could no one have called to inform us that the tech would be late? And how did the tech or anyone working there not know that they had a client waiting for them this morning. That they put on the schedule! And we live awhile away so it would have put us behind the rest the day when late! Ugh. Not going back to them.

We had a new heat pump installed about 5 yrs. ago in our rental. Recently we had a new heat pump installed in our home. Dr. HVAC personnel performed in a timely manner and very professionally. They did a great installation and they were very good about leaving the site very clean before they left. The workers were very friendly. I highly recommend them.

I used Dr. HVAC twice and was pleased with the technicians both times. Seemed both conscientious and professional. The 3 rating is the contract. I paid for a spring and winter tune up but forgot who I went with this year and had to go through old files to figure it out. They claimed they emailed me to schedule the second visit and may have since I get over a 100 emails a day it could have gotten buried. A

The fan unit on our heat pump began working intermittently and was making funny noises. I reached out via Yelp over the weekend, when I knew Dr. HVAC was closed. Long story short: Dr. HVAC called me back on Monday and had a technician out about 30 minutes later. He was diligent and attentive to detail. He quickly diagnosed the problem -- and double-checked to make sure that no other potential cause was missed.

He didn't have the needed part in his truck, but got it ordered and told me it would probably arrive by Friday. He was slightly mistaken, in a good way -- the part came in and he returned today (Wednesday) to replace it. He then tested to make sure everything was working properly. Awesome service, and fairly priced.

The service employee that came to fix my heat pump was very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor and was super friendly. He fixed it quickly and didn't over-charge me. I would definitely recommend Dr. HVAC to my friends and family.

These people disabled my furnace and we're going to call about replacing it. Never got a call, glad there are other companies in the community that have some customer care. These people don't care about you. Look somewhere else. The only good thing is they will show up. for a small fee

We finally decided to replace our old furnace and pellet stove with a new HVAC system. We called the Costco rep first and told him we were getting a second bid from Dr. HVAC. He told us they would come in higher and he didn't know how Dr. HVAC could be so reasonable. Dan from Dr. HVAC came out and discussed our options and sent an estimate within a few days.

We were up against a deadline for a rebate and they ordered our units and had them installed within 10 days. Jim completed all of the energy rebates and sent them for us to sign and mail in. They came out a couple of weeks later to make sure our system was calibrated correctly and a week or so later called and arranged the county final inspection. We are thrilled with our new system and very please with the great service, start to finish! We would definitely recommend Dr HVAC

The technician was not professional at all. Went around saying it might be this or that or maybe this. He finally decided that I had a leak in the coolant so he put dye into they system which I have since found out damages the system and degrades the coolant. They charged me $400+ for this service that now I have to have flushed and cleaned out. I do not and will never recommend this Company. WAY over charged me for a non-service.

If I could give them half of one star I would, pitiful service and pay in full right now, no billing. Their service person knew nothing about heat pumps. I have since had a real company service my system and the difference between this company and a real company that actually knows what they are doing is like the difference between heaven and hell. Numbers of in and out put and it took him 20 minutes instead of two hours to diagnose the problem. Save your money people. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

The man that came out did not seem to know what he was doing. He said maybe it's this or maybe that. He then put dye in the system because he said the coolant was leaking. $400+ later he goes home doing absolutely nothing to fix it. I recently had another person come out from a real company that really does service. The difference was unbelievable he had gauges and checked pressures and took a bunch of measurements on the gauges and wrote the information into the database.

He said that his company never uses dye because it damages the system and causes the coolant to degrade. Way less than half the price of this company and a billion times better service. Now that I know what a real company is like all I can say is if you want to throw your money away this is as good a place as any. Half of one star. Not happy at all. They take your money for nothing. I need to buy a whole new system and guess what? It isn't this company that will get my business.

We just completed the purchase oh a home in McMinnville. The inspection of the home revealed that the furnace required replacement. Dr. HVAC was hired by the seller. Although we were not the actual customer, both Dan and Kathy kept us informed as the work progressed. And the work was completed when promised! Can't ask for more than that.

I live in a small trailer, so when my portable LG AC unit started acting up, and no one from my warranty was willing to help me within the same week let alone the same day, I looked into Dr. HVAC. I called them and was told they'd call me back "today", but there was no ETA. I expected to not get a call until much later. It was only about 2:30PM. Within minutes I get a call from Jared, who explained that Saturdays are overtime days and said that it would be $75 starting price and paid by the hour. Jared made it out to Lafayette in less than 20 minutes and he was able to help.

He didn't overcharge and he was VERY helpful with my unit. He told me exactly what was wrong and how to move on from here and the AC was working perfectly after he left. It was more than worth the $75; he came out on a Saturday in almost no time at all and resolved the problem, and offered suggestions should the issue happen again. Excellent service, would recommend!

I hired Gormley awhile back to fix a leaking outside faucet. I paid them with a check to Gormley Plumbling (obviously). The next month my checking account showed a deduction to Commercial Pippin. I had never heard of this so I had the bank investigate and reverse charges. Then Gormley Plumbing called me and said Commercial Pippin was them. How would know this? Psychic?

Then for two months my water bill was enromous. I finally thought maybe the leak was not fixed. I went to the hose and sure enough it was running fast. I called Gormley and they sent a guy to fix it (again). They then demanded I pay the bank charges when I stopped payment to Commercial Pippin. My water bills were about $200. The reverse charge was about $25.

I was also enttitled to both senior and military discounts but got neither. I have lived in the county for nearly 50 years, always using Gormley. Never again. What incompetent, inconsiderate jerks. Ann Helm

This business is upstanding! I needed a new HVAC system and they responded immediately because it was freezing outside and my home was cold inside. The updated system has saved me over $100 per month in utility cost. My biggest complaint with contractors is showing up when they say they will. These people were not only on time but a little early and finished the job to my satisfaction. Outstanding!

I don't know that you can be super excited about an heating and air conditioning place, but I have to give Dr. hvac props. First, I am building a house, and Dr. hvac were the sub-contractors who came out to do all the heating and ducting work. They set everything up, but ran into a major problem. The owner of the company came out, looked at the situation, and he personally came up with a solution that would fix the problem.

I was so impressed. He travelled a great distance to my construction site, to meet with me. He saw the problem and worked with me until we both agreed on a solution. I could not have been happier with the outcome.
