Services
I started Nathan's Plumbing in Round Rock, TX, in April of 2007. My plumbing experience has been in repair plumbing for the past 23 years. I have approximately 60,000 service calls under my belt, and still growing. I became a journeyman plumber in 2001 and worked for several of the largest plumbing companies in Austin Texas, where I gained valuable training and experience and problem solving.
It is best to buy a water heater from local plumbing shops who stock parts encase the water heater breaks down for some reason. When you buy a water heater from the home stores, such as Home Depot and Lowe's, everything must be ordered and shipped, leaving you cold for at least 3 days. Bradford White offers 6 years on the tank and 6 parts. State offers 6 years on he tank and 2 years on the parts.

Nathan is the man. Pure and simple. He knows his stuff and is particular about doing things right as opposed to just getting the job done. We've used him three times at our home. Best part, you deal with him directly as a small biz. I prefer supporting craftsmen like him as opposed to the big local companies who spend a fortune on ads. This gent cares so much about his clients that he has actually offered, twice, to walk me through a repair on the phone as opposed to coming out and billing me. In both cases, I preferred he came out and he did so, happily and took care of things.

I highly recommend Nathan's plumbing. I've called him twice this year. I first had a pressure problem that caused rattling pipes. Drew was the plumber that came to do the repair. A couple days after the work was done, an adjustment was needed, Nathan came right over and did it. The second time Nathan replaced my toilet and change my vanity sink to a pedestal.
The work was neat and he got it done quickly and he didn't leave a mess. I found the pricing to be very reasonable for the work and quality. Both Drew and Nathan are really nice guys. They explained everything they were doing and answered all my questions. I have future projects in mind that I will definately be using Nathan's for.

I called Nathan's yesterday just a couple of minutes before 6pm to leave a message that the water dispenser on our GE refrigerator had stopped working. (The manual said for this problem I could need a repairman or a plumber, depending on the cause of the problem.) Nathan called me back in less than 5 minutes and said he'd be at our house at 9am this morning.
He and an apprentice were here at 9 sharp, disconnected the water line from the wall to the fridge and low and behold, there was water, and so not a plumbing problem. Nathan changed the water filter for me, pushed the fridge back into place, and wiped up the few drops of water on the floor. It wasn't his fault he couldn't fix it; it wasn't a plumbing issue.
But he was super nice: he wouldn't let me pay the full charge for a service visit, but instead accepted a very minimal fee. This was the second time we've used Nathan's Plumbing and we couldn't be more impressed. They are professionals. I recommend them completely!

I've used Nathan's twice for a stubborn bathroom sink. He's always available withing 24 hours of my call, personable, hard working and always takes the time to explain the work done and if possible how to avoid the problem in the future. I highly, HIGHLY recommend this plumber. He's a local business not a chain, so your money is going to stay local and support a neighbor.

Had a major leak on a Friday and when another plumbing service didn't show up as scheduled, I called Nathan. Nathan gave me lots of helpful suggestions to patch the problem and then came out promptly the following Monday morning and fixed the issue. Nathan is a great communicator, he is punctual, and his prices are reasonable. I give him the highest recommendation and won't hesitate to call him if I have another plumbing issue.

Nathan is amazing. He handled all of the plumbing installation for a huge remodel of our home. He handled the complex plumbing moves, installation of tubs and toilets and fixtures as well as a tankless hot water heater for us. His service and attention to detail are truly outstanding. He came by on the Saturday we moved in to help us get the water heater installed. He is a great guy and we highly recommend him!

I had Nathan's Plumbing out to address a warranty issue on a water heater( the water heater was purchased through another plumber who did not return my call). He was very knowledgable on the phone and gave me helpful advice until he could come address the issue. He stated he was a Master Plumber. His hourly service charge is higher then most but if you have a big issue he can address it. Plus, you talk to a plumber when you call, not a secretary. We did have some miscommunication on pricing but we were able to discuss it professionally and rectify the issue.

Nathan was really professional, helpful, and his work was exceptional when we hired him. Not only did he know what he was talking about because he's a "Responsible Master Plumber" with his own shop but also explained everything in detail when repairing our plumbing in the kitchen. The best part was that he came with all the required parts and resolved our plumbing issues on the spot!
Not only would I use Nathan's plumbing again but I would also recommend others using him because he's the real deal. When he was fixing our plumbing issues, he went the extra mile and cleaned up everything, including rust, etc.before installing the new parts to ensure that quality work is being done! You could see the pride that he takes in his business and his high-quality work is the proof in the pudding!
I would definitely use Nathan's plumbing again in the future and I would recommend anyone looking for a stand-up plumber to give him a call - he'll take care of the rest!

Nathan is great. We've used him for many years at various locations around Austin. He is always responsive and reliable. He's usually able to diagnose the issue over the phone and schedule an appointment either that day or the next day to come and fix it. He works quickly and provides accurate advice. I don't call any other plumbers, only Nathan. Highly recommended.

I've used Nathan's Plumbing on two separate occasions, this time happened to be a clogged clothes washer drain. Even though the problem turned out to be more of an issue than what he originally quoted me on, he still honored his original quote and got the problem resolved in a timely manner. I'm very happy with the service I received.

A stand up guy and proud business owner, Nathan handles even the smallest jobs with the utmost professionalism. I was referred to him by another who only works south of 620, and I'm very glad for that. I hired Nathan to hook up a natural gas grill on my patio. I got quotes from 3 different plumbers, and Nathan's was the next to lowest, but he was real responsive over email which gave me a good feeling, so I went with him.
As it turned out, he had to cancel on the day we had scheduled due to an emergency situation at another job ($&*% happens, as you can read in other reviews.), but he came by the next day, got the job done quickly and gave me a very fair discount. Very friendly.

Nathan is the best! We have used Nathan s Plumbing for multiple plumbing jobs in the past. Each time he has been on time, reliable and friendly. Recently, I called him about a leak under my kitchen sink. I m not well versed on plumbing terms and have difficulty describing the specific parts, so I took several pictures of the problem and emailed them to him.
He responded promptly, with a good overall idea of the problem, knowing the valve needing replacing and set up appointment that same day. He was able to pick up the correct parts prior to coming to my house, which in turn, saved me any additional charges of running to the parts house. During the service call, he needed a few more items that he had stored on his truck.
That is awesome! I have used plumbing companies in the past, who come to your house first to diagnose and then charge you to run to the parts house, making this service call longer and more expensive. Not Nathan. His efficient kind of plumbing service is money saving and high tech. Nathan, you have a customer for life!

Last year, I was sent to Nathan and his team from another recommended plumber. I was having trouble with hot water in a rental property, and figured the water heater was on its way out. Nathan talked me through the process, and sent his assistant to identify the problem. Since we already determined the problem was most likely the heater, they had one in the truck, ready to install.
The job took some extra work to get right, but the quoted price remained. I was still having issues with hot water in one of the bathrooms, so Nathan came out and corrected the issue (a safeguard device on the faucet), with no extra charge. Recently, I discovered a substantial pipe leak within the foundation of another property (25000 gallons in a month).
Given my good experience the first go-round, I called Nathan again, and he came out and confirmed the leak. He and his team had the leak fixed within a day. Nathan walked me through the insurance process, and helped with proper billing. A week later another foundation leak popped up in the same house and again, Nathan's prompt response and attention got the job done. As a property owner and landlord, I can say that straight-forward, honest workmanship is greatly appreciated, and I have received that from Nathan and team.

I was surprised by how quickly Nathan was able to come out and look at my water heater. He quickly troubleshooted the problem, and had a replacement part on hand! I found the cost for his services to be very reasonable and well worth it. I will be sure to call Nathan first for any issues that come up for my personal residence and rental properties. Thanks, Nathan!

It was a normal morning, with a twinge of excitement in the air. Recent days were filled by nesting, organizing new baby girl clothes, and painting furniture in pinks and purples. The house was clean, almost sparkling, and ready for the arrival of a tiny baby girl (and well-wishing visitors). Then came the sewage. I had no idea the chaos that a clogged main sewer line could cause, but there it was, flooding forth from our downstair powder room.
It was the stuff of nightmares, a roiling, foul sea of despair, threatening to ruin floors, baseboards, and anything else in its path. To say I was freaking out would be an understatement. Frantic, futile passes with my tiny two-gallon shop-vac were punctuated with helpless outbursts of profanity. I was literally up to my ankles in sewage. This was a dark morning, with no hope in sight.
I called our normal plumber, Nathan. He's installed toilets and sinks and unstuck a disposal for us. He adjusted his schedule and had his crew at my house within 30 minutes. They went to work auguring out the main line while I struggled to clean up the flood. The guys got out their shop vac and helped me in my struggle with the water. After a couple of hours, the blockage was finally gone. Miraculously, the filthy waste water was largely gone, as well.
I had a lot more cleaning left to do, but the crisis had passed. A hopeless and vile morning could now be handled with a mop, pinesol, and elbow grease. Nathan's has grown, and you may not get him to directly come address your problem. I don't know for sure if the pricing is greater or less, but my last couple of bills have been reasonable and fair. And, when I had sewage lapping at my ankles, they got out there fast and helped save my bacon. Highly recommended.

I've called on Nathan for years. He is very responsive and does good work. However, lately his helper is now also licensed so his rates have gone up high. His last job for me didn't include a quote upfront. After so many calls over the years with fair outcomes, I trusted him. Consequently, I was shocked at the bill. It was over twice what I had budgeted. Note to self, Better get an upfront quote!

Nathan's Plumbing came to install my water softener. Chris was the plumber that came out. He was extremely knowledgeable and well prepared. I've never had a plumber come out prepared with parts on the truck already. Chris was very professional and came out on short notice and on time. Will definitely use them again.

Don't hire Nathans plumbing unless you want to be at his mercy. I had Nathan do some work and referred him to a few friends for some business. I called him last week because my foundation had some wetness by it on the other side of the wall from the hot water heater. He looked said it wasn't the water heater. It may be the supply line going to the house.
He would send someone out the next day. The next day it was raining. I called him the following day to ask where the service call was. He said it was raining and he didn't want to dig in the mud. He didn't have anything to say about the lack of follow up. This Sunday my entire living room floor is soaked. I was a little upset. Called Nathan up and him what he could do.
He said he would be out sometime tomorrow. When I asked what time he said after some other calls he had to make. He asked if that was ok. I told him it didn't sound like I had a choice. He hung up then called back and told me he didn't appreciate my tone and that he thinks I should find another plumber. I responded I didn't appreciate my floor being soaked and his lack of empathy about the situation after he had failed to make commitments or follow up properly.
I will not be giving him any more business. ----------Response to comment------------- The soaked carpet was related to your work. Had you properly identified the leak when you came out to inspect it wouldn't have happened. As far as the lack of follow up. You didn't show up or call to reschedule. You said that you got busy and didn't want to dig around in the mud.
I don't think it is possible for you to have the wrong number because I was calling your cell phone and my number shows up on your phone. Not to mention you had done work for me before so looking up my number on an old invoice would have been trivial. As far as my emotions I was more disappointed. Had you made your commitment when it was raining etc. it wouldn't have happened, had you properly identified the leak it wouldn't have happened.
The only thing that I said that could be construed as rude was me saying "I guess I don't have a choice" meaning you could show up or not show up whenever you felt like it and there was nothing I could do about it. No sense of urgency or empathy. Then you called back obviously more upset than I was and told me I should get another plumber. Then when I called you back you didn't have the courtesy to answer the phone.
So yes I am sorry I hurt your feelings and my tone wasn't to your liking. I was at your mercy to do whatever you liked whenever you liked. I am not anymore. Not to mention your method of leaning on my upstairs toilet and rocking it back and forth breaking it is pretty despicable.

We had just moved into our house and couldn't get the pilot lit on our water heater. Being late in the day on July 3rd we weren't having much luck getting anyone to come over and take a look at it. Nathan returned our call and rather than coming over and charging us to light it, he simply talked us through it. We will definitely be calling Nathan's plumbing again if we have any plumbing needs and would certainly recommend his services.

Nathan is an independent plumber with years of experience and he is awesome. He tells you exactly what the problem is, fixes it and does not try to up-sell you a bunch of stuff that other big name plumbing companies do. He had to come and fix all of the problems left behind by the horrible AAA Auger. He retrieved a broken snake left in our pipe by AAA that was clogging up half of our house. Now everything works great. I highly recommend Nathan's Plumbing. He was recommended to us by our realtor who has been in the business in Austin for decades.
