Architectural engineer Eben Robison opens a small office in downtown Hartsdale. His wife runs the gas station and auto parts store, and he runs a side business drafting building plans. Living above his shop, he was ready all hours of the night to help anyone in need. Extensions were added to accommodate the hardware shop, gas station, and auto shop.

The service professional was friendly and really genuine. He was cool about our oversized but very friendly dog, too! He worked on our A/C system for almost 2 hours and determined a small issue. He gave us some alternatives, including one that was least disruptive (we chose that one). I felt like he really cared and wanted to just educate us with options so that we could make an informed choice. Great customer service, as always.

Although Robison charges high prices for fueling oil namely six bucks a gallon the service I received for checking some faulty ventilation was excellent. The tech got one vent working by removing an unneeded damper then diagnosed what we needed to repair the other vent. I am probably going to get screwed with labor costs in repairing the broken vent despite me being s long-standing customer but I am sure their techs will do an excellent job. I was very satisfied with the tech who came to check our vents Now I wish they could lower my fuel bills before I go on welfare.

Stopped by to top off our tank out of the blue and left a bill for $6.19 a gallon! A full dollar more than the most expensive price I could find online. Local average price is under $5. Not OK Robison. If you are going to show up to fill us up un announced you could at least charge a price that is close to the average for the area.

Over priced service plans, that cover very little. Oil prices are always the highest, and during this recent surge in price, they came out and topped off my tank when prices were their peak! I had almost a half a tank left and they came out and filled it just as the weather was getting warm. They charged me 6.20 per gallon when the local market average price was 4.99.

It was opportunistic and unethical. They nickel and dime you as well by always adding a stupid 5 dollar delivery fee on top of that. They do on that on service calls that are supposedly "included" in the "gold" plan as well. They add 9 dollars to a included service in the 500 dollar annual service plan. Nothing worse than being nickeled and dimed after over paying for oil! Stay away from this company. I've been with them for 4 years. I've had enough. I will be leaving immediately.

Danny is incredibly conscientious, took a lot of time to explain things to me, and kept in close contact so that we could make decisions on what to do in real time. He also is incredibly knowledgeable at his craft, and the amount of pride he takes in his work and the level of care he shows to his customers is apparent. He did an excellent job for us.

I had a new boiler & hot water heater installed this week. The installation team was fabulous - the best I've seen in 25+ years in my house. The work was done carefully, they explained everything to me, were kind, & left my basement the cleanest it's ever been. 100% satisfied.

We had a funny smell in the house and SCOTT COLE the mechanic found issues with the unit and was very thorough and did a phenomenal job. Very professional and explained everything so we understood what happened and what he did to repair. I have been using Robison for years and nobody is better!

The telephone operator is always very pleasant and helpful. Martinez the technician, is also very pleasant and helpful and informative. However, I had to make another appointment for a future visit. So I called twice and due to wait time I chose the option of having Robison call back but never got a call back. I successfully used this option in the past. Not sure why it didn't work this time.

I am currently having 5 ductless mini splits (Bosch) installed by Robison. Tim Fernandez from sales came to my house and provided a timely quote and walked me through the whole process. The installers Chris, Matt and Eddie are knowledge about the product, installation process and respectful of our house. The installers took their time to ensure everything is in place correctly and helped coordinate with the electrician recommended by Robison. The process has been seamless and I would highly recommend Robison and the install team.

Our hot water heater burst on Christmas Eve. We called Robison and they were here in no time. Unfortunately we had to go without hot water over the weekend, but on Tuesday we had a temporary hot water heater installed until the permanent one is delivered. All of the people at Robison were extremely helpful from the folks who came out to diagnose and replace the hot water heater to the supervisor who kept us apprised of delivery of the new water heater. We have used Robison for over thirty years and will certainly continue to use them for years to come. Thank you for your top rate service Robison.

Total rip off artists at every turn. They "fixed" our radiators which caused a major puff back resulting in about $25,000 in damages. Covered under insurance but a total nightmare. Their mistake and they still tried to be out of it. Opportunists for sure! Try using Valley Oil. We love that they are a true family owned and operated business. Nice goes a long way. As do fair prices and trust.

We switched to Robison from Burke due to better pricing. I have to be clear, this was a BIG mistake. The service is bad. Our heat went out two days ago, someone came and added fancy monitors to our boiler. Fast forward two days, our heat goes out again. I called and explained I have a 1 year old and a pregnant wife and our house is freezing and they said sorry we're backed up you have to wait at least a day.

I said again I have a wife due to give birth in weeks and they said, didn't you hear me? That's the service we get, so if you're considering switching - DONT I didn't realize how important the service aspect was.

After the recent 5 degree temperatures one of our baseboard heating pipes burst from becoming frozen. On a Sunday, Robison made it to our house within 3 hours and helped me correctly shut down our boiler so no damage would occur. Since we didn't have any heat, Robison followed up with me first thing Monday morning (Martin Luther King Day) and had a plumber come to our home (his name was Art) to diagnose what was leaking and how to repair it. Art, the plumber, came up with a solution that was "outside the box" and not only fixed our existing burst pipe but also will prevent any further pipes from freezing in the future.

All of the work was done at a very reasonable price. When all the plumbers I knew were too busy Robison was able to come and provide excellent trade skills by Art the plumber as well as reasonable pricing. It has been two days since the pipes were repaired and everything works great. Also, once the plumber had fixed the piping Robison had one of their boiler specialists come back and spend 30 minutes with me to ensure we turned the boiler back on the correct way.

Anyone with multiple zones will know that all those levers and valves can get confusing and the last thing I wanted to do was any damage. Robison hit it out of the park on this job. Thanks for the professionalism and "out of the box" thinking by Art the plumber. My family really appreciated it.

Oil companies are a monopoly that needs to be dismantled. It's goes against humanity to deny people service because they are not a preexisting customer. Why the hell would I want to even become a customer if they won't sell me oil as a non existing customer? My family ran out of oil, we called them for an emergency delivery and got rejected because we're not signing a service plan. What a convoluted nightmare. These people don't have empathy. They deserve the worst.

Larry from Robison was an excellent technician. My boiler was in need of a regular cleaning. Larry went the extra mile in servicing and made sure that everything was performing adequately before he left. He was clean, courteous, and took the tile to answer all of my questions before leaving. He made my first experience with Robison a good one.

I have found Robison, as a company, to be reliable and responsive for many years. Their routine service has been consistently efficient. Some years ago, I used a different company (for reasons of price) to install an A/C component in my home, but that system never worked properly despite several attempts by the installer to fix it. A call to Robison was all that was needed: the A/C system has worked without a hitch since they worked with it. So, for my money, it's Robison for heat and cooling!

Thanks very much. I understand there are some who feel the price of oil is expensive. And, there are means to buy it less expensively than from a full service oil company. However, one should ALWAYS consider service unless one has the ability to service his/her own boiler. We had no heat the other night. Despite how cold it had turned, I knew Robison would be there to help us out. The tech came at designated time and repaired what needed to be done. Items needed were on the truck. I'd give zero stars if I could. Tech called me to schedule appointment, I explained my wife is in the hospital in Manhattan and I need an early appointment. He said I'd be first of the day, 8am the following Monday. On the scheduled day I waited until 9:15 before I left for another appointment I had scheduled. That night I get an email that the job was completed (it was not).

The next day I called and spoke to someone who rescheduled for two weeks later. The morning of that appointment she called 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment and left a message that the tech didn't come in to work and there was nobody else to send.

When you call Robison, you can press 1 for existing customer, or 2 for potential new customer. When you press 1, you will wait for at least half an hour. When you press 2, you will get an answer in seconds. But if they find out you are an existing customer, they will put you back in the 30 minute wait line. That's why I don't want to be a Robison customer. Try it. Call them.

Before you sign a contract with Robison, get a second opinion! We had hired Robison to replace a water heater and called them again this spring when we found a sewage leak in the basement. Robison employees cleaned out a trap and told us the fix was only temporary, it would last only about two weeks. The real problem, they said, were two segments of collapsed clay pipe in the sewer line connecting our home to the sewer main in the street.

The Robison representatives claimed to have seen the collapsed pipes in their video of the line. They said it would cost $16,000 to $18,000 to fix and needed to be done ASAP. We were suspicious. If the obstruction was in the sewer line, how could the temporary fix in the trap help and how could the camera get past the first collapse to identify the second?

I called a small plumbing service I had used before. They videoed the sewer line and gave it an "A" rating - no obstruction at all, none - open and clear to the sewer main. We terminated Robison and explained why. A Robison supervisor called and asked if he could video the line at no charge. We agreed. After doing so, he admitted reluctantly, with mitigations and excuses, that his Robison colleagues had gotten it all wrong; the sewer line from our home to the street that Robison told us required at least a $16,000 repair was fine and needed no repair at all. Robison had big financial incentives to lie; they chose to sacrifice honesty to greed. Forewarned is forearmed. Apparently, my experience with Robison is not unique.

Robison customer service is amazing. I sent an email to customer service for a non emergency Issue and promptly received an email reply from Dan Singer, the owner, notifying me that service team would be dispatched. It seems they truly care for the comfort and safety of my family.

First, the company price gouged my family during a snowstorm. Right before a blizzard, our furnace stopped working. My pregnant wife, my three-year old son, and I sat for several days in the cold while we waited for a technician to come, then they ultimately charged us nearly $1,400 in total to replaced a burnt circuit board. Now, they are repeatedly harassing us, claiming that we only paid half the bill, despite the fact that we have credit card receipts for the entire bill. The worst company I have ever hired for anything.

I never thought I would write a review but this was necessary. Sorry its so long. But its definitely worth the read. I brought my new home in July and am new to having oil. I grew up with gas service. When we signed on with Robison we thought it was the best thing to do because of their popularity. We signed on for maitnance and automatic refill. We also notified them that our tank was missing a gauge and that was needed as well.

This was in Mid October. A gentleman showed up and was very friendly. I asked him if he was there for the gauge he said "no they sent me here to look at your lines." I said ok, thinking it was something mandatory. I currently have a connection at the end of my driveway by the curb. Apparently Robison wanted to reroute the line to connect directly to my home.

I asked if there were any issues or reason he said "No, Im going to let them know its not possible since the line runs through your garage, there's nothing wrong, the street connections are kind of just an eye sore." I said ok, he installed the gauge and left Last month we received a call that a technician needed to come look at our line again.

At this point a gentleman showed up "to do measurements." When I asked why he said to re route your lines. Once I asked why, he really had no other answer other than we could have a possible leak and that the cost would be upwards of $3000 and we could finance it. we refused and he left. There is no evidence of a leak and we've had 3 deliveries since we signed on with them.

Here we are February 14, 2021 and we have no heat. Which shouldn't happen because we have automatic refill. so we thought. Apparently once we called, Robinson explained we no longer had it because we chose to not do the extra work. They switched our service to will call without notifying us during the coldest month of the year. When the same technician showed up he wanted to charge us $510 to bleed the boiler, which I know how to do and only give us 10 gallons of oil, again because we refused to have $3000 worth of work done that isn't needed.

His response was "don't shoot the messenger" I have an 18 month old baby and a young son. My house is freezing because I chose to not to have work done by Robison oil. It's shameful and ridiculous. I'm looking for a new company as we speak!

Technician Steve T. was very helpful and articulate. Pleased with his advice. We bought a new Bosch Heat/AC heat pump system this past summer when it was hot out. But now that it's winter, we're not accustom to the cold weather operation of the ecobee smart thermostat. Steve stopped by to confirm the settings were correct and gave me pointers on using the digital thermostat. Very pleased with Robison's speedy assistance.

I would not recommend this company AT ALL. I never take service contracts, somehow they added one on to my account; everytime I called for regular maintenance for the furnace the only appointments were months away. Now, I tried to cancel my service and oil delivery and that was a problem too. I was on hold several times and was told different things each time. TERRIBLE experience.

We had a strong exhaust smell coming from our furnace. Robison was able to get a tech out very quickly. Larry was professional, courteous, thorough and went above and beyond to fix the issue. Very pleased that all of the repairs were covered under our service agreement. Hopefully, we won't need to call them again but good to know they're there for us in case of an issue.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I have waited over 2+ years to write this review. What does that tell you? Did a pretty simple oil to gas conversion and it was the hardest project to complete with Robison. I own multiple houses that do a lot of construction projects and this was the all time worst experience. Estimate was good, rebates were good, then it all fell apart like an avalanche. 1.

Work took a very long time. Very very long. 2. Had to explain to their plumbing department on how to do modern construction work. 3. They outright lie to you on communication with ConEd (though it is in writing), don't show up for important ConEd scheduled appointments and it delays your turn on by a great deal. ConEd was mad at them. 4. The rebates took over 2 years to get back to me (crazy).

They said they were sending checks and never did. It's all in documented emails. Never believe what they say. PERIOD. 5. Everything has to be approved by David, CEO and it takes a very long time. They don't like to write checks. SO, IN SUMMARY, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS COMPANY.

They came to my place of business because they are supposed to be commercial plumbers. They attempted To repair one of my machines. They didn't know what they were doing but that didn't stop them from charging me almost 600$. When my usual plumber became available, they fixed my problem in 10 minutes. I can't stress enough how money hungry And incompetent they are. Do not use them. You will be sorry

Robeson calls themselves "The house that Service built, " in this case, it is well earned. We have been customers for at least 15 years. They supply our oil, service our furnaces and our air-conditioning system. We have found their technicians to be unfailingly polite, respectful of property and efficient. Best of all, when Robison makes a mistake, they always on it and make amends. A high-quality organization. We give them our highest recommendation.

Terrible customer service. I have to email my account manager 10 times before she gets back to me. They have the highest prices by far in the area and if I wasn't stuck in a contract with them because of my dumb landlord I would never do business with them.

Where do I begin. It hasn't even been 6 months since I signed the contract. Issue 1. From the beginning, the salesman I had was rude and condescending. I just moved and had 3 oil companies that I was making contact with. One was a local smaller company, the second was Robison, and the third was a larger company. In talking with the salesman, he. bashed the other two and basically said that because Robison services the house with the previous owner, they know the ins and outs of the house.

Well yes they do but if I went with another company, they'll begin to know the house soon enough. I didn't like his approach and he was the typical "salesman" when you think of a negative experience.

They made a "clerical error on their side" setting up auto pay. Sent bills that said: "Please DO NOT pay this invoice, your account is on auto-charge" but it didn't charge setting up several months of backup. They barely offered an apology and wouldn't even extend an inconvenience discount- even during the hectic holidays. Terrible service. Oh and magically they activated the auto draft while I was on hold without even clearing it with me or validating any of my info.

Worked with them since April 2019 and just parted ways. Not to be trusted. Told me I needed a new boiler (only 8 years old) when all that was needed was a new air vent. Then they tried to justify it. Another example, also tried to charge me $250 to fix a leak in a sink, which my handyman fixed in 10 minutes with a $14 part. You pay for a service plan touting it's coverage, but whatever they suggest needs to be fixed is never covered by the plan. Quick to call you when trying to sell something, but try getting a call back quickly when there is a problem. Not recommended.

Terrible customer service. was on phone twice with receptionist and transferred to someone who wasn't available. still waiting for call back! I was a former client of Frank & Lindy. and always like to support local busses. forget about Robison. all they want to do is gouge you and rip u off. with bad customer service.

Would love to give 0 stars if possible for their maintenance department for natural gas boiler systems. First, let me explain that the individual techs for the company are excellent themselves, but the company's costing and policies are a joke. About one month ago we put in in $2400 into a high end boiler, part of which was an annual reconditioning service for the whole boiler.

This evening we call in as the boiler's message board is flashing an error. $250 for Robison to show up and $270 per hour shortly on the heels of a service that should have gotten through at least a year. Search for certified McLain Weil service techs as soon as I submit this post. Thanks for a great year Robison!

You get what you pay for! I have been a Robison customer since moving to Yorktown Heights 17 years ago. They are worth every penny you spend with them because their service is superior. Any time I have ever had a problem they have been there immediately. Their service men are extremely knowledgeable trustworthy and polite. I have absolutely nothing negative to say.
