Ross NH Inc. Techs (all that I have encountered) have been professional, honest, and courteous. Office staff is great too, provided me with all the documentation my co-op required in a timely manner. Will continue to use NH Ross for any plumbing concerns! Christopher came by to assess my jetted bathtub leak. Chris was on time, professional, relatable, and courteous.

He did a thorough examination of the bathtub, sent over a quote and was in and out in no time. Had we moved forward with the repair at the time I would have trusted Chris's abilities to perform the job.

Do not hire NH Ross they are unprepared, unprofessional, will overcharge you and not complete the work. Their staff is very rude on the phone and techs try to sell unnecessary services. The scheduling manager does not even know when the techs are booked for and will show up at your house unannounced. That is if they show up at all. Stay far, far, FAR away from NH Ross!

Zero stars. Called because AC quit and blower motor on furnace was not working. 1st person sent said both central air and furnace not repairable due the parts no longer being available, and someone else would be coming to give estimate. He came and confirmed both too old to get parts and wanted full payment of $11,600( after $500 coupon used) and payment need to be made today before work even done.

Then said at least 1/2 had to be payed today. Stunned when he left looked in folder left behind no report of what was found wrong, no breakdown for bill. Numerous calls later they finally emailed it. Meanwhile after speaking to someone else and told to get another estimate. Next person came went over both units-low on freon needs to be filled, curcuit board burned out-which was readily available to replace total cost under $1,000. Called Ross to tell them was not using their service now receiving multiple calls from company Sucking up the "service call fee" of $79 but STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Unethical practice and treats a woman like she knows nothing!

They said calling back tomorrow-have no idea why but always get at least 2-3 estimates before having repair work done, don't do fooled by hard sell techniques. Oh and no service call for 2nd company even if i choose not to use him. How they are still in business after reading all the reviews on here I have no idea. The page we originally looked at was google review-all glowing recommendations-came to find on YELP that they can not alter or remove reviews and was stunned at how many times they have pulled this on others.

Ryan did some faucet replacements. He was timely, quiet, personable, and confident. When he finished, i checked that all items worked, a little light banter and then he left. No tension, no hassle. I recommend Ryan. Additionally i had some electrical work done by Rob. He installed some fans, replaced a bathroom fan and fixed a towel warmer. Rob was great.

Both guys are clean, respectful, conscious of customer needs, skilled, and polite to have around. The company as a whole is very organized. They call to let you know when the technician is coming and follow up call to make sure you are happy. I recommend this company, especially Rob and Ryan M

Technician diagnosed two gas leaks from my gas burner and immediately repaired the first leak. I was told they would return the next day with a new valve that needed to be replaced. I received a phone call early the next morning telling me what time they were showing up and it was accurate. They promptly replaced the part, tested for leaks again and got my system back up and running right away. The company was very friendly and professional-a little pricey but I am satisfied with the work and service I received. I would definitely use them again

Excellent quality workmanship. Knowledgeable and professional service people. I have had 4 different service professionals come to the house as part of their "Total Care" maintenance agreement and was very impressed and satisfied with their work and professionalism. Also, their communicative skills from their office is the best I have experienced.

Very BAD Experience with NH Ross-plumbing/heating We had a baseboard porch heating pipe leak on Jan 23,2022 due to incremental weather, and had NH Ross ( who 3 years ago installed our new heating system), come to fix the base leak. Their technician charged us some $900 to fix the problem, but did not provide an assessment for the whole job! Instead, turned out there were more holes, and he kept on making new charges as he went along, charging for each separate hole, instead of providing professional assessment for the whole job to fix the problem.

We ended up paying total of $1412.13 and technician then, demanded another $2000 to finish the job! We still have no heat on porch, and of note, one new baseboard of 6 feet costs -only $115 Star rating-NOT good

First when Harris came he couldn't finish the job because the PVC glue had frozen in the truck. Was it his FIRST day? I gets cold every winter! Harris installed a shower pan. He cut the Sheetrock too short on the sides and the drain cover just sits on top of the pipe! Bob keeps telling me that that's the way drains are made now but I just had another one installed in another bathroom and it attached so when hair gets stuck in it, it can be cleaned! He was extremely rude and kept talking over me.! DO NOT USE this company! The only way it would let me post my review was to change it to 2 stars! No Stars!

We got up on Valentines Day to a gas burner that quit. It was 22 degrees and we turned to the internet to help find a heating and air conditioning company. NH Ross had wonderful reviews. They did come quickly, I will give them that, but we also got an estimate of $939 plus tax to replace a failed control module, along with several future maintenance options.

The part on Amazon was $95. After much back and forth they reduced the cost to $700 plus tax. Complete rip off. we felt with the cold we had no choice but to agree. I will never use this company again!

Friendly and professional service. My electric baseboard heater was not working, Mike found the problem right away and changed the thermostat. I felt the prices were reasonable and the service was fast everything was done the same day that I scheduled an estimate. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work done.

NH Ross charged me $983 for labor only in replacing my kitchen faucet. It wasn't a complicated job, and I would have done it myself if I had a small saw to cut the old faucet. I have repeatedly called Neil, the president and he will not call me back. The only reason I used NH Ross was because they were highly recommended by my previous condo president.

I guess she hadn't used them in a while and was furious to hear of what they charged me. I was extremely distracted that day, interviewing someone when the plumber was here which is probably why I just wrote the check. I thought it was a lot, but they were highly recommended, and the plumber told me that was what it cost. I looked online and saw quotes of $150 to a high of $412 for labor charges in replacing a faucet. So, they charged me nearly 240% over the highest quote I saw in my zip code. Please DO NOT USE NH ROSs. They are thieves and rip-offs!

I met with Chris K. from NH Ross after meeting with two other Plumbing Companies that National Grid recommended. I was pleased with the quote provided and Chris was very good at following up with me, Once National Grid installed the gas line, NH Ross scheduled Mike K. and Jorge F. to install my new heating system. They were on time everyday, worked all day in a professional manner and got the heating system up and running with no problem.

They were polite and answered any questions I had. The office, especially Caitlin, also did a good job scheduling between National Grid and the Town, for permits. I would highly recommend this company and the people I worked with. They know how to make a customer happy and a priority. Thank you, Joan

If I could give no stars, I would. I wish I had read the reviews before my sister contacted them to fix the heat in her house. Over $1000 spent and the problem hasn't been solved. They keep sending out the same tech who has replaced a valve and reset the system, less than 24 hours later, no heat again. It has been 3 days with no heat as they have other techs out sick and couldn't send anyone.

I requested a different tech. a more experienced tech. they informed me this morning that they are sending out the same tech as everyone else is out sick. They charge about 35-45% higher than any other business. save your money.

Joel was my service tech today for our maintenance checkup. He was promptly on time and was professional throughout the entire inspection. He went over all the details of what he was looking for and communicated throughly to ensure I fully understood the step by step process of the inspection. This was an individual who I can tell cares about the job and the customers he helps along the way. Definitely a great experience.

At this time, I am not 100% sure how I will rate this company. We had a plumbing issue which ended up being a hassle due to the previous owners installing PVC to bypass the trap. Besides that being a challenge, coming out to snake our trap, we were quoted $662! We called to cancel because that is outrageous and immediately we were offered a discount.

No problem. Our service tech/plumber was a peach but he couldn't get through because the trap was under our raised flowerbed. We received another insane quote to dig a hole so we opted to do it ourselves. The following day we called and described what was unearthed and was told that what we explained is what they need to work on. Another tech/plumber arrives and tries to work his magic and says that the hole needs to be larger because what they need to work on is deeper still.

Now this is after speaking with them to confirm we no longer needed to dig. They couldn't wait until we dug some more so another call was made and another quote was reported (over $500) to widen and deepen the hole. Now it's Friday and our last discussion with the tech was, 'we'll see you tomorrow'. So Saturday comes and we call for an ETA and we are told that they don't normally work on weekends but can come out and there will be an emergency charge.

Now understand that we cannot flush, shower, run any water or all of the excrement will back up into the house.again. We wait until Monday, they come and use a root drill and all in all the pipe is clear. We saved $700 digging holes but it still came out to $1000. Grateful to be back in business but as they pull away, they hit our portable basketball hoop (caught on our Ring) and smash it into our tree.

You hear the crack and see the basketball hoop/stand buckle. He backs up and pulls away. I think he thought he hit the branch. We reported it to them and included the fact that we have proof along with a photo of what the replacement would be. It's Tuesday and they sent the same guy back to take pictures. Let's see what happens. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company until I see how they resolve this issue that was 100% their fault.

Have used them several times in the past. The work was a mixed bag between "good" and "acceptable". I never felt they were doing amazing work, but they would get the job done, and it was enough. Had them do a job recently, and they basically botched it at every turn. Didn't install parts correctly (against manufacture's recommendations). Didn't properly plan how the job would be completed, so it basically looked like a cobbled mess when they were done.

I left them alone to do the job, assuming they had at least some idea of what they were doing, and came in to find one of the most absurd and ugly jobs I've ever seen, with no consideration of I would be able to use the space in the future. I asked them to fix it, and then got angry calls from the foreman asking why I'm delaying his workers.

After the work was done, more problems were found. I called and spoke to the owner, and he basically blew me off. Too much ego going around. Too much of them thinking they know more than me looking at the puddle left behind from their work. Can't trust them anymore, shouldn't really have trusted them this time either. I had to redo 70% of the work myself on my day off. Can't imagine what would have happened if somebody got stuck who had no ability to fix the shoddy work they did.

NH Ross was the only company out of 6 that bothered to pick up my call. I left messages for the other 5 that have still not responded. They sent over a technician, Vincent, the same day I called to check into a heating and AC issue I was having for one zone in our house. My 9 month old baby's bedroom is in that particular zone and I was getting very concerned with the constant temperature fluctuations. Vincent was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

He was respectful of my home as he wore booties upon entering and even took them off and put them on as he entered the hot attic to fix the issue. He was able to get the part we needed to fix the job THE SAME DAY. He stayed late at our house just so that he could complete everything. I'm so grateful and relieved that this issue is finally fixed. Thank you Vincent and NH Ross!

Although they usually respond promptly they are overpriced on every item of service to the extreme. 80$ for the estimate of almost $1200 to replace a faucet (we have the new one ) and fix a leaking handle on another faucet. That estimated included a ten percent discount as as we have a service contract. The leaking handle had to be unscrewed and the stem replaced- $ 15 part at hone depot and 20 minutes of my time! A local handyman replaced the faucet for $ 150.

I had a great experience with NH Ross this week. They replaced my water heater, which had failed while still under manufacturer's warranty. They really helped me out of a jam. Everyone from the office staff to the technician was super nice and helpful. They called and arrived exactly when they said they would. The technician Carl was very professional and did a great job. I will definitely use them again.

NH Ross Service Technician named Mike, corrected an ongoing moisture venting problem I've had for the past five years. He explained the procedure he would perform prior to commencing. Needless to say, he did everything he told me and more! Can't express how grateful I am to him and NR Ross to finally having this PVC venting rerouted correctly! Will continue using the services of NR Ross in the future. Thank you, Bill D.

I was disappointed that when I contacted them this week for an estimate on a water heater and possible boiler replacement I was told there was a service charge to get an estimate. Money I lose if I don't use them. I also have a service contract with them which means nothing. I will look elsewhere

These guys are crooks. They tell you it's $79 to evaluate the problem with my water heater. However the tech Josh never gave me an estimate and just started up the water heater. He was in my home less than 5 minutes. He then told me my bill was $150 and he didn't even have my permission for the price. I am a 66 year old senior and I feel that I was taken advantage of by this company and I will be taking them to court. Hopefully this will help other innocent people and seniors who are helpless when things go wrong. God bless any one who uses them. Be smart and stay away from Ross plumbing and heating.

I am in the real estate business and need to rely on vendors to handle various tasks in various towns. In this case, we had a foreclosure that the owner didnt properly drain water from the heating pipes causing them to freeze and bust in certain spots during the polar vortex freeze we had. Well, the vultures came out. Had the burner serviced by another company and when heat was turned on we noticed various leaks in the baseboard heating elements.

I called this company to get an estimate and they charge $79 plus tax just to come to the house. I explained what I needed. The young gentleman that arrived had no clue on how to give the estimate and told me that he cannot give an estimate and that someone would call me back in 15 minutes later to give one. I waited in my car for over an hour and half after calling them twice and be told someone would call, apparently the owner. NEVER got a call so I left.

Since I paid for an estimate, I drove back again (takes 45 minutes to drive here since I dont live in the house) to get an estimate. About 4 hours later I got the estimate i was promised 3 days earlier only to have the charges split up into X amount for 30 feet of heating element and X amount for each ADDITIONAL 30 feet of heating element to be replaced since we had unknowns.

The issue was why am I being billed in increments of 30 feet, which cost was just shy of $1000? So I emailed and called back the company to get an explanation. About 1 week later the owner finally got back to me to say that it is not worth their time to come out and do a job like this and that he needs to make money and that he would not readjust the estimate.

So think about this. I was given an estimate for what was apparent in damage. say $1,000. Then instead of giving me an estimate for say every additional baseboard register which are approximately 6-10 feet, I would be billed for every 30 feet, simply because he needs to make money. Seriously? So because he needs to make money I need to overpay by 3-5 times what the cost could have been? Needless to say we are not using this company and I would recommend that paying $87 to get an estimate from this company would most likely result in you paying for job that others could do for less. Be wary.

I called NH Ross for a second opinion in Jan 2019. Their technician Michael was professional. The staff explained to me their pricing.$79 to walk in my house. The bill became $192 because the house call became diagnostic. I got a clue as to what is happening with my boiler. I was told the boiler was undersized and reluctantly made an appt for a sales call to find the cost to replace a 10 yr old boiler.

I had purchased a thermostat ($97) thinking that it was the source for boiler not keeping the house at the set temp during the first polar vortex. I asked the technician how much would it be to replace the thermostat and was told it would be $530. I stated I had a thermostat and the technician said their labor rate was $390/hr. making their cost of a thermostat $140.

After answering their survey and stating their pricing was unreasonable i am being called to set up an appt to have the thermostat replaced. This is why I gave them a 2 rating. Their technician diagnosed the problem.low water temp in boiler.did not adjust it. Directed me to replace the darn thing! Armed with new info, called my regular heating co, they came in and raised the water temp. AT NO CHARGE! Let's face it.polar vortex create extreme COLD conditions. A bit more planning on my part will avoid these kind of service calls that can lead to high sale pitches.

**UPDATE** I received my estimates! 3 weeks later, one week after posting this review. I say estimates because I received 7 of them which further proves that they have no idea what the issue is. I get the sense this is a "throw sh*t at the wall and see what sticks" scenario, no pun intended. :) Estimate #1 is to unclog a mainline-makes no sense to me being as nothing is clogged.

Estimate #2 is again, that maintenance package I mentioned, still no idea where this came from, for $99. Estimate #3 is for the technician to remove the cover of my sump pump tank, and inspect the pump, for $464! Estimate #4 is to remove the aforementioned pump, clean it and put it back in for $735! $1,200 to inspect the pump, clean it, and put it back. YOWSA!

Estimate #5 is to remove the pump, put a whole new one in for $1,300! Estimate #6 is to replace a fitting.for $1,400! And finally, estimate #7.no description of work at all.just $850! I certainly hope this lengthy review assists someone in finding a different plumber to use. I still never received a phone call regarding the service fee, only a phone call to schedule one of these 7 services. **END UPDATE** I contacted NH Ross for a plumbing issue in my home.

They informed me of the $89 consultation fee, which I normally try to avoid, but figured, "what the heck". The technician arrived at my residency, was informed of the issue we were experiencing and he began some basic troubleshooting, most of which seemed unrelated to the issue. He made a few phone calls to a supervisor, explained the situation to them over the phone and then came back inside to do some more troubleshooting. Eventually, he told us he "thinks" he knows what the issue is and that he would be back inside in a moment.

He was stepping out to write up the estimate. He came in a few minutes later and gave us some pricing on a monthly contract to maintain our heating system along with a bill for $200 for the consult fee. We explained that we were not in the market for a maintenance contract (not sure where that came from) and were told the consult fee was $89 prior to the appointment and he replied: "well I have been here an hour".

We went back and forth a bit and told him we are not paying the additional costs. The technician then went back outside and said he would be back in with the estimate. 10 minutes went by and I looked outside and the truck was gone. The technician arrived at my house, had very little knowledge as to what was occurring and how to resolve it. Tried to charge us more than double the agreed upon consult fee and then left.

We still do not know what the issue was nor do we have an estimated cost for the repairs, but we paid the $89 consultation fee. I made numerous phone calls to the office regarding this matter. Left messages with an employee and never heard back from them.

Had to take Them to court for commissions earned that he didn't want to pay me for after I left employment at the company. I was a commission sales person. Received 1/2 of my commission when contract was signed and deposit paid then the balance was to be paid after completion of the job. Well I had to take him to court to get the balance of my commission.

He claimed since I left employment before jobs were complete I didn't earn the balance. I wouldn't recommend a company that treats employees like this. A revolving door. My reply to their response, I enjoyed working there. Worked with some great people. When I left it was on good terms. If Mr. Ross really valued his employees he would not have made me take him to court for what I earned. And the employee turnover wouldn't be as high as I've seen there.

As I sit here waiting for two hours for my tech to come and fix or make right my 26k install of a full HVAC system a year ago, I thought I would let the internet know that this company seems like a good bet when you hire them (at a 10-15% price hike up from smaller companies), but I have to tell you, my experience with them has been terrible. The owner Neil, has reached out to me personally to rectify this situation, yet I am still having issues a year later with my install (insulation issues, no air filtration system was installed, thermostats broken, duct work coming undone in the crawl space, and hoses missing from drainage).

I was hoping that going with a larger company would be better in the long run and I would avoid getting fleeced, but as I sit in my freezing house, unshorn, waiting for my pipes to freeze, I can't in good conscious recommend them for install or long term service. Unfortunately, Daniel P., East Hampton

Called in based on seeing them on Yelp. Had new gas fireplace installed this week and I need gas connected by a licensed plumber. I reached out to them as residence is in same town as there offices. Said they could come out today to give an estimate which was great. But they advised their is a $79.00 service charge if we don't agree with price and have them fulfill work. That's a terrible practice they wanna get your money either way.

Good ethical companies don't apply these tactic As you can see by Neil's comment in reply to this review ethics doesn't matter much it's all about a dollar. Successful companies don't charge fee's for an estimate.

***update*** Spoke to management who sent a plumber out on Friday. (I requested jimmy scala) They followed through on all the work and although they wanted to charge me for a filter to stop the sink from leaking they ultimately put it in free due to the difficulties I had endure with the water heater. My sink is working and I have hot water. If your doing plumbing request Jimmy Really disappointed in the outcome.

My new 3000 water heater had a leak from half ass soldering and my master bathroom sink stopped working shortly after installation. The response to get someone back in was quick but then I was told a $400 that was suppose to be installed wasn't. Plus the valve in the master bedroom sink was "broke" costing another 362. My sink still isn't working.

The good: They came to my house the same day Their employee was nice & polite. The bad: Extremely overpriced. They wanted to charge $2200 to repair a baseboard leak. I declined because it seemed like a very high quote. I went and found 2 very reputable plumbers on Angies list. One plumber quoted me $500 to do the exact same work that DH Ross quoted. The second whom I ended up going with charged me $1300 to do the repair and upgrade us with 3 brand new baseboards with greater output.
