After 20 years I needed a new hot water heater. My inside the home was a tough location with all kinds of restrictions. I had other companies refuse to do the job or only with a smaller heater. I called Genevie Plumbing after another provider was a "no call no show". It's funny that I had never heard of them before since they were in my area and where highly recommended. Meredith, the admin, was so sweet and reassuring and was able to get Will, the technician, out the very same day even when their next available appointment was several days out. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed with both their professionalism, quick response, constant communication and fair pricing that I will now use them for all my upcoming needs. We had a dreadful problem with another plumbing company that got their snake stuck in our sewage line. They quoted us a price of $9600 to excavate and remove the snake. Nick, from Genevieve Plumbing, was able to squeeze in an extra appointment on the same day. He even made a special effort to do this so I would not have to pay the after hours rates.

In no time at all, Nick was able to retrieve the snake. The cost was less than $700 and I'm not sure how they knew to give me a military discount, but I am military and they did give me that discount even though I never asked for it. This company from the first person I spoke with, who was Linda, was professional, thorough, efficient, and KIND. We have lost this value in business as bigger businesses have taken over. I would implore you to are use this company for all of your plumbing needs!

From the call I received to set up the appointment to the technician's arrival (10 minutes early! I'm a stickler for time management) and the service itself: well done. I will keep this number handy, as I just purchased a home in the area and would be delighted to use them again in the (hopefully, not so) near future.

We've been relying on Genevie Plumbing for over a decade now. They have expertly handled everything from installing a new hot water heater and sump pump to fixing leaky toilets, to unclogging our sinks. Recently Nick really took care of us after our basement flooded due to a broken sump pump. Our hot water heater also gave out. He diagnosed the problems and discussed our options with us and made sure to get our OK before starting the work.

He kept us updated and was accurate and transparent about the costs. We are so happy with the work that Genevie Plumbing does, and we are also glad to support a local, family-run business!

I have used Genevie Plumbing at least four times that I can recall and every time I have received such professional customer service. The last time I had to use Genevie Plumbing was a Sunday evening due to a clogged kitchen sink drain and Nick was exceptional. I am so confident with Genevie Plumbing. I am extremely pleased with all customer service: phone service, the response time, and the professional service received by the Genevie Plumbing technicians. Genevie are the folks to call!

I wanted to update this but got busy and forgot. In hindsight, the previous review that I gave was way overkill. I actually got the opportunity to meet Mr. Genevie after and he explained the charges and why they were necessary. Ultimately, it wasn't his fault that I didn't know that I needed the heat running before de-winterizing my property. yeah stupid me. Would definitely recommend these guys.

They charged me over $500 to install a new kitchen faucet (that I already purchased) and snake a bathroom sink. And because I'm a woman they thought it okay to rob me. I wrote to them asking for half the money back. Women: beware!

They fixed the problem but I believe I was severely overcharged. I had low water pressure and my hot water heater stopped working. My house is about 5 1/2 year old. I was told the water pressure valve was bad and the part would cost $150. Then he went ahead to clean out the water heater in hopes that it would fix the problem, which didn't. I was charged $380.

He then ordered that part and told me he was able to get the parts for the water heater for free because it was barely out of warranty and that he would need to come back to install the part for another $165. I ended up paying $545 to replace a water pressure valve and to replace parts in my water heater. They fixed the problem, which I think any plumbing company could have done, nothing out of the ordinary.

I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN and I do not recommend this company because they are over priced which to me is scamming desperate people out of their money. You only get one chance to scam me. Never again! I wished I saw the other reviews.

We called Genevie Plumbing for several problems: a nonworking faucet as well as a nonworking garbage disposal, and installations of two toilet seats. Nick and Will arrived on time and quickly resolved our problems. They were so efficient! Better yet, the price we paid was LESS than what had been originally quoted! Thank you, Genevie Plumbing, for making our life much more pleasant!

The work performed, which was the replacement of an exterior hose bib, was fine, but I was way over charged. The time spent actually on my property replacing the hose bib took just over an hour, but I was charged for a total of 2.5 hours (@ $150/hour) due to the company's policy to charge the customer for the plumber's travel (at the full rate of $150/hr) by starting the clock once the plumber leaves his previous job.

On top of that, there was a $100 'ARRIVAL FEE' for the appointment. Neither the cost for travel time or arrival fee were disclosed when the appointment was made with the owner several days prior, or when the plumber arrived before the work began. What frustrated me was that I had no control over where the plumber's previous appointment was, and even before the plumber had even arrived, I was on the hook for $250!

I did contact the owner of the company to confirm the company's policy on charging travel time, and if it was true, how I witnessed the technician spend about 10 minutes smoking before coming to my door (while I was apparently on the clock). The owner said he was only responsible for booking the appointment and not what occurred during the appointment, what the plumber did with his time, or what he ended up charging for time/travel (since the owner was not actually there to witness it).

He did offer to split the travel cost with me. I will not be using this company again, and recommend anyone who does use them make sure you get an agreement of their costs before setting any appointment.

I've owned several homes, and was so glad to find Genevie Plumbing after I purchased my second home. They are honest, competent, and reasonably priced. I have even recommended them to my parents, who are seniors, because I know there are unscrupulous people in this world who would take advantage of them, if they could. I am writing this review today because I just called them to schedule an upgrade of the bath and shower fixtures in my folks' home.

In 2013 we purchased our first home and gave birth to our son all in the same month. Ideally we had hoped to settled in and enjoy a relaxing year, unfortunately that did not happen. Shortly after closing we discovered the main drain line in our home needed to be replaced. This was really going to be a tough job because our home is on a cement slab, and our flooring would need to be removed and the pad would need to be jack hammered. Thankfully the job was covered by our home owners insurance, but we would have to move into a hotel with our newborn while the work was being completed.

We contacted Genevie and quickly discovered that we had found the company for the job. The owner Paul arranged for the work to begin immediately and they finished up in a quick and timely manner. I was 100% satisfied with the work Genevie did. Now fast forward to spring 2015. One morning I noticed that the brand new laminate flooring was buckeling in a different part of the house.

I immediately contacted our insurance and Genevie. We were dismayed to discover another plumbing issue that had accrued. Paul not only began the work immediately, he also worked endlessly with my insurance company to get this repair covered as well. Without his help and support I think I would have lost my mind. Not once did I feel like the plumbers Pete (Paul's brother) or their two sons did not have our best interest at heart. If you are looking for a professional company who will treat you with respect and like a human being than Genevie is the best choice!

Wow! A lifesaver! The faucet in my downstairs basement broke and hot water was gushing out everywhere ( I had know idea how to turn the water off!) I originally called another plumbing company, Jiffy Plumbing, and they told me it would take AN HOUR to get to my house (it was around 6pm at night). NO WAY, I called Genevie and since they are located in Charles County, their plumber (David) arrived at my house within 20 minutes!

I was sooooooo thankful. He even let me go to Lowe's and purchase a faucet.and when I got back he installed the faucet quickly.saving me money. And what's even better, i had no choice but to trust David in my home while I ran to Lowes (I live alone).and when I got back, nothing was taken :-) I think I received a fair price considering it was after hours and the service was excellent.

I would definitely recommend this company, when you need a plumber FAST! Also, within days, I received a thank you card in the mail.first class! Thanks David and Genevie Plumbing!
