O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company is a full service plumbing company with a known and respected reputation throughout the greater St. Louis area. Founded in 1951 by Oliver J. Laughlin and his wife Catherine, O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company has since grown to employ over 30 field workers (plumbers and laborers) and a 7 person office staff. We strive to give our field workers and customers the back-up support they need in order to run our jobs both profitably and efficiently. Serving our 66th year in business, O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company takes great pride in continuing the business practices of our founder, and to give our customers a full service plumbing job.
Services
Oliver J. Laughlin and his wife Catherine open up their own plumbing company after the death of Oliver's Uncle Charles Herbert. During these years, O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company was a repair and remodel shop with some light commercial jobs. Mr. Laughlin averaged about five Plumbers and one Plumber's Laborer at this time.
Oliver "Ollie" James Laughlin started working full time for his Uncle, Charles T. Herbert & Son Plumbing Company upon graduation of grade school. He started by riding his bicycle from his Mother's house off Kingshighway and Maffitt to his Uncle's shop in the Tower Grove area. After serving in the Army during World War II, Mr. Laughlin began helping with the daily operations due to his Uncle's health.
Certified "Green" Contractor: Educated in Energy Efficiency - Some of our plumbers receive at least 50 hours of continuing education yearly in the latest efficient plumbing technologies. Laughlin Plumbing Company is an Angie's List Super Service Award winner for 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, and 2004. This is awarded for achieving and maintaining a superior service rating on Angie's List as determined by Angie's List members.
The past General Contractor of the Year winners and nominees were sent a ballot to select outstanding Subcontractors in the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) category. O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company, Inc. was selected by these General Contractors as meeting or exceeding the nomination criteria. We have now been nominated eleven out of the last thirteen years, and won our category five times.

My wife and I want to express our thanks to O J Laughlin and especially Mike Luebbert, the service tech that recently completed a plumbing repair at our home. My initial call to schedule a repair was promptly returned and scheduled to be done soon thereafter. Mike was courteous, professional and a pleasure to talk with. It was obvious he was very skilled at his trade, having salvaged a 50 year old fixture, saving us considerable expense.

The other morning I was in an adjacent lane to an OJ Laughlin truck that was carrying a full load of crushed stone. The load of rock was over the walls of the truck (I have photos, just can't put them here). The load was mostly covered, but the tarp must have been out of adjustment or something because a portion of the load was left exposed. Rock was bouncing out of the truck as it went down the interstate.
Sure enough a rock hit my windshield and cracked it. I took photos of the truck and load and contacted the company. They said the rock could have come from anywhere and it is not their fault, they will not pay for it. So I'm out several hundred for a new windshield. Thanks OJ. I understand you cannot buy windscreens for everyone, but photo proof of a improperly handled load and a concise description of what occurred should be enough for a reputable business to do the right thing. Keep this in mind before you choose to do business with these people. Only the bottom line matters, not what is right.

We needed a pro to rough in a bathroom in the basement of our 40 year old house. O.J Laughlin was a great company from start to finish. Completed the job within a week of starting and communicated well. The president of the company came out and quoted and then a master plumber on staff performed the install. All of the crew were friendly and pleasant and answered any questions I had.
My final bill came back at 85% of the bid which is pretty major savings for a multi thousand dollar rough in. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking and will use them for any future needs. Lifetime customer from now on!

I have NEVER written a recommendation for anyone, especially a Plumber! That being said, Clayton who was our service man was the Nicest, most polite and Professional person we have ever had work at our house. Furthermore he was quite efficient and fixed everything in a very timely manner. The total bill was extremely FAIR.

AWESOME--FABULOUS--FANTASTIC--only three of the many words that I use to describe the unbelievable service that we received from Laughlin Plumbing. Their entire staff goes way out of their way to make certain that the customer in 150% satisfied with their work. Customer service is definitely not dead at Laughlin Plumbing. We had a toilet leaking into our kitchen ceiling and a valve that needed to be replaced. Our job wasn't urgent, but they still got us in quick, fixed the leak without any issues and were very professional. They're rates were also very reasonable. I will be keeping their information handy for future needs. I highly recommend them!
