When a plumbing emergency strikes in your Newtown or Bucks County home, the most important thing is to act fast. When it comes to accurately responding to this sort of emergency, there are two critical steps: first, you need to locate and shut off the main valve for the entire house. Then it's time to call the emergency plumbing experts at McHale's so we can get your problem fixed fast. As soon as you book your emergency service call, we will dispatch one of our highly trained plumbers to your home that very same day.
Having a clogged drain can be a major frustration as a homeowner. If you have been constantly applying do-it-yourself methods to solve your drain problems, you may have come to realize that these can be a waste of time and money. Clogged drains are complicated issues and will often require a trained professional to properly assess and address the problem!
Garbage disposals are a great addition to any kitchen. If they work. Like any other kitchen appliances, garbage disposals can break down and need a repair. If your kitchen has a garbage disposal, and your sink is starting to back up with dirty water and food remnants, you might have a big problem. If you're the kind of homeowner who likes to roll up your sleeves and dig deep to fix an issue yourself, think twice on this one.
The pipes in your Newtown and Bucks County home won't last forever. Plain and simple. Over time, aspects such as corrosion, wear and tear, tree roots and other conditions in your home slowly break down your plumbing system, and will eventually need to be repaired. This isn't a job for a weekend do it yourself armed with a wrench and duct tape.

I had a new Bathroom done, it looks great. Everyone I met at McHales was Courteous and on time. The plumbers were Rob and Marty and they were great. They were very easy to talk to. Sam and Constantine I got to know they were here everyday. Tim the electrician and Rob the plumber were my favorites! But like I said they were all awesome. And did Great work. And Doug my salesman helped me pic out everything.

We had a clogged drain and Beau Reilly came promptly and cleared it. While he was there he pointed out a degradation in the main line under our house and quoted us for installing a liner in it. We had the work completed by Allen Brown, George Lekpeyee, Cody Snyder, and "Excavator" Juan. They were professional, and did an excellent job. The liner probably saved us 50% of the cost of a complete pipe replacement, not to mention they did the whole thing from outside the house in one day! Can't go wrong with these guys.

All they try to do is sell you other services or upgrades. They came out to do a small repair and didn't have the tools they needed. Rescheduled came out the next day and showed up six hours late for the appointment. Then they wanted to sell me an upgrade which I didn't want to do so I just paid them for their time. Called another plumber and had the repair done.

I had a plumbing emergency three days before Christmas and needed to have my plumbing replaced from my bathroom all the way out to the main sewer line. McHales responded promptly, was out the next day and had the work completed in two days. Beau and his team were professional, talked me through everything and followed up with all of my questions. The price was amazing and they even managed to save my flooring and replace it. The front office service was amazing as well. I would absolutely use McHales for any additional plumbing services.

Called for service mid morning to flush 50 gallon hot water heater. Remarkably was able to have technician come early afternoon same day. Joel and assistant arrived 15 minutes after first calling. Courteous, polite and professional, gave a quote for the work which I thought too high for something not critically needed. Finally dispatch fee was waived. Outstanding service from a company I had used in the past for a bathroom remodeling.

McHales recently completed a total bathroom remodel for us. Our bathroom is beautiful and we love it! The quality of the work was excellent and our project manager Mike was the best! All work was completed as scheduled, starting with Doug the designer, Shelia in purchasing, Tim electric, Anthony plumbing, Steve paint and Neil's trailer delivery. Jenny, the McHales care coordinator even paid us a call.
One week later, on a snowy Friday afternoon, our very old hot water heater sprung a leak (Murphy's Law). By 5pm that day we had a brand new water heater fully installed thanks to McHales.

Had a blocked sewer line same day as a major snow storm. Contacted several companies who said that they would come next day, but did not. McHales and their service Tech John showed up and were courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. I felt their price was expensive, but when you have to clear your sewage pipe and other contractors promise they are coming, what do you do, PAY! Great service!

I called McHale's just before business hours on a Saturday morning to take care of a smoke detector that was going off every 15 minutes. I was pleased when they said they could send someone that day, but didn't expect they'd have someone here within an hour. I was impressed when I got an email with a picture and bio of the service person who would respond, Kevin Keller. He was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I give the company 5 stars. I give Kevin Keller 6 stars. I highly recommend both!

The worst! Over priced and extremely unprofessional. They damaged my new hardwood floors severely and scratched my tub, because they were too lazy to lay down any protection. Shower combo was installed off center. Walls were to be left "paint ready" and they left them lumpy and uneven. They suggested I move the vanity over 3 inches and then they never did it.
They tried to charge me an extra $680 to put my medicine cabinet back in. And in the end they left without putting the shower head and handles on the new shower combo. He said, "Let someone else do it", even though I had paid him to do it. It was just a horrible experience through and through. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

Mchales plumbing and heating services is by far the best company that I have ever done business with. they're technician Mike Stanton was at our front door 30 minutes after I had spoken to the young Lady over the phones. I honestly cannot say enough about the excellent service that Mike Stanton provided to my wife and I with the service and repairs to our hot water heater. A++ #customer4life

I had my bathroom completely remodeled by McHale's and it turned out absolutely amazing! Doug M did an outstanding job as our sales, design and development lead. He was incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job communicating throughout the project. Kevin L and Seamus were the GC's on the project. All I can say is WOW! They transformed our environment and paid attention to every detail with meticulous care.
They were truly a pleasure to have in our home over the few week period and made sure to check in with us on the daily. Tim B and Kevin K were our electricians. They reviewed and discussed the project with us at the onset and checked in to ensure the project plan was verified. Rob W was our plumber.completely professional, knowledgeable and a great communicator.
I was so impressed by the level of communication and coordination between everyone mentioned above to make our experience seamless and enjoyable. They are excellent project managers, took the time to always follow up and truly have transformed our lives for the better! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

An update on our last review. Our review was read and I was asked to call the next morning. I called and left a message which was never returned, so when they post to call them, nothing happens, but it looks good. Beware of this company! To be forewarned is to be forearmed. They talk you into replacing things that don't need to be replaced. From looking at other reviews, it seems many people are disenchanted with this company as are we. Sad times we live in when the almighty dollar is worth more than customer service. Karen Schillack

We installed a split unit ac ourselves. Called McHales to check our work. After 10 minutes he said everything looked good, but, in his experience the drain pump usually burns out within 3 months. We agreed to have it replaced. It took about 20 minutes. We left a blank check for our daughter to pay. We were shocked to see it cost almost $800.00 dollars.
The pump retails for about $60. We called the next morning to ask for a itemized cost statement. We were told they couldn't do it. Also the tech took the old pump. Nevered used. It seems very unreasonable for labor rate for 1 hour to be $700.

Who knows if they do good work, that would require them to actually come out. I can understand them being busy. Last week I started having a kitchen sink issue, soonest they could come out would have been today. About 5 days later. They were supposed to come between 8-4pm, well at 2pm I get a text saying they rescheduled for the next day. No kitchen sink for a few mor days, great.re-aligning your whole schedule for people who may not even show up is pretty annoying.

I wish I could give a 0 star. My wife called them to have our heater checked out. To get it ready for winter, to make sure it was ok, fire it up, ect, ect, ect. So the guy came in didn't even try to turn it on. And told my wife it would cost 2,980 just to fix it to code. We just purchased this house not too long ago it was checked when we bought it.
It must have been too code or regardless if it is the code or not. He tried to get almost 3,000.00 just to get the heater running. Why because she was home alone? I don't know. But. She then had two other heater companies come out and they said the heater is not Broken and does not need to be fixed at that cost. The other two companies my wife had called are competitive companies. Go figure, here it turns out that all we need is a pressure relief valve. Make sure you think twice about calling this company. Go elsewhere. One pissed customer!

All I have to say they fixed a pipe told me to get a shop vac and clean up water and bacteria in the crawl space under kitchen sink. I've had sewer flies in my kitchen and he told me if I don't clean up properly the flies will get worse. I said my husband just had stroke and I have herniated discs I can't get under the sink. He told me to have my son do it!
I said I don't have a son he said the guy doing your lawn. Are you kidding me? Have my lawn guy do it! I just paid over $200 to fix a small peice of pipe and the plumber wants me to ask my lawn guy to do it! I won't be calling them again. This happened a week ago. I'm still dealing with the flies and I'm extremely upset. I seen roto rotors van a few days ago it said plumbing and clean up! As it should be.

I called McHales, immediately was connected with a person who set up an appointment for an estimate. The estimate wasn't free, but the Service Specialist Ed S., was punctual, prompt, and generous with his time and expertise. I received an estimate that was not as cheap as a local handyman, but reasonable and fair. I booked the appointment very easily later that week.
On the day of the appointment, Ed S. came with his associate Kyle, and they did a fine job of quickly and discreetly installing new wires, boxes, and recessed lighting. Very happy with the work - it's good to find a contracting company you can rely on.

I was having an issues with sewer flies and sewer smell at my house. A friend said to call horizon and I did. They came out and said it seems like a broken drain line and I need a smoke test and to call a local company that does it. I researched smoke tests (I'm not a plumber) and figured it wasn't going to work as I'm on a concrete slab.
I called McHales and they said the same thing and suggested a camera test which is half the price of a smoke test. They did the test and found my drain line between my kitchen sink and bathroom was in poor health. Marty gave me an estimate that both my adjuster and insurance agent said was fair, plus the camera job would be deducted from the price if they got the work. Marty told me it was a 3 day job but they got it done in two.
He and his crew were awesome, and they also replaced a few valves and installed a trap at my washer for no extra charge. They kept my house from getting over run by the concrete dust as best as possible and cleaned up well when they were done. I have no complaints and would definitely call them again.

I have used their services in the past. I called for service to replace an old toilet. The handle broke, but I thought it was just time to get a new one ( and I had company coming in a few days and needed the toilet operational one way or another). The plumber they sent made such a fuss about the replacement and the process to undertake it, that I knew it would be an issue.
I said we could fix the old one if the new one was too much of an issue. He prepared the quotes - $932 to replace, $587 to replace the handle, flapper and valve, or $39 to do nothing. I picked the nothing option (still out $39) and went to home depot and got the $10 in supplies and fixed it myself (in 10 minutes not ever having touched plumbing before in my life). I will never call them again, this is too outrageous a price gouge to overlook going forward.

I went with McHales because of their positive reviews, but unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the quality of service provided. I had a leaky shower faucet and wanted a quick fix. I was sent an inexperienced technician, Nick, who came to diagnose the problem ($39 non-refundable fee). He replaced the diverter, which did NOT resolve the leaky faucet.
This took over 4 hours to complete and at the end, requiring the assistance of another technician. Then the technician realized he needed to purchase a new shower sprout in order to replace mine and charged me $40 for the new sprout (Home Depot prices are $20). In addition, when testing the faucet, he did not close the water valves, thus causing water to spray everywhere into the back of my carpeted closet/walls. Overall, I felt that I was taken advantage of being a woman with no plumbing knowledge and speaking English as a second language. Unfortunately, McHales was dishonest about the services provided and charged me an absurd amount to replace one part of the shower system and wasting 4 hours of my time (total charges were over $600).
I contacted customer service 3 times, and the customer service representative told me multiple times that the manager would call back to address my concerns. In my last attempt at contacting a manager, I was told that the owner of McHales would receive my message and contact me back. No one has responded to my concerns. While I was refraining from writing a poor review, my concerns were handled poorly and have thus resulted in writing this honest review. (Written by my daughter on behalf of me, Helen Huang)

I refuse to give them any stars but you have to give them something for it to post. The electrician they sent to my house it took him 3 days to figure out the problem so in the beginning of December I went without electricity. When it came time to pay I asked the electrician what was easiest for him he said a check so I obliged on 12/8/16. On 1/12/17 mchales finally took it out leaving me $2 in my bank account.
It should not take a company that long to deposit a check. The electrician should have made me aware it was going to take that long for his company to cash that check. The electrician told me to write that check so his company didn't have to pay the fee for using a credit card. Glad I saved mchales the $2 it probably costs each transaction on their credit card machine.

I made a huge mistake wasting my time and $40 on these people for a ridiculous estimate. They wanted over $1000 to replace a small section of pipe between my tub drain and tub p-trap, snake the line and replace the stopper. They charge by the job not by the hour and their prices are insane. I've never heard of any plumber around here charging more than $100 an hour.
This job takes less than 3 hours to complete. If they did charge by the hour that would be around $300 in labor and then what.$700 for roughly $50 worth of materials from home depo!? They also wanted around $300 just to clear the drain with a snake after I had already cut the pipe for easy access if I had chosen to do the repair myself. I'm sure they do good work but don't waste your time on these people if money means anything to you.

I called McHales in the evening with a water problem that was due to either a plumbing problem, electrical or both. My tenant was in a panic because he needed water for his business the next day by 10:00am. McHales was there as promised 8:00am the next day and got the water running properly within two to three hours even though it was a complex and expensive repair.
However the next day my tenant called saying the water was "acting up again". I immediately called Mchaless a bit frustrated and spoke to Tim, the owner, about the problem. He got Ron over there right away, he found the reason for the problem and it was repaired right away at no additional charge. I want to thank Ron, Robert and Tim for taking care of this quickly and professionally.

I made the mistake of calling this business this time last year when I had a plumbing emergency. A pipe had cracked in the wall behind my kitchen sink. I was absolutely unable to miss work that day. I called the plumber and had an at-time tenant of my property let him in and observe the work. The plumber located the damaged pipe and replaced it so that I could turn on the water to my house again, but he charged me 3x more than average.
I know this because not only did everyone of all walks of life tell me that I had been ripped off, but I had the same exact problem occur a year later, despite following all of the advice and interventions that the plumber had talked to me about (running the heat in the house higher, etc--I found out later that the issue will not be resolved without a serious kitchen overhaul, unfortunately), and the DIFFERENT plumbers I called this time around charged me 3x less despite the pipe damage being a lot more extensive this time around.
Another thing: this plumber pulled my washer/dryer (located on the other side of my kitchen) out from the wall but never hooked it back up properly. As a result, the washing machine would not hold any water in it and I was convinced that it was a goner. I was inconvenienced with using a laundromat for a while and then paying a handyman $97 to come out and see what was wrong with it, at which point I found out that there was nothing wrong with the washing machine itself, just the way the plumber had put it back.
It is at the point that I am starting to think the possibility that perhaps this plumber had collaborated with my EX-tenant to rip me off since they knew I was clueless about home repair, was at work all day, and perceived by people as a pushover. I definitely wouldn't put it past the ex-tenant, since he later showed himself to be extremely untrustworthy, opportunistic, and unreliable to the point that I had to go through a formal eviction process. Thanx a lot, Mc Hales. I now know a group I will not be calling ever again.
