Would recommend highly 110%. I recently completed some work on a duplex and wasn't happy with the work my contractor's plumber did. Called Weld & Sons Plumbing to have them come out. They were able to get me an appointment right over the phone. I received a reminder call the day before the appointment and prior to their arrival. Dayne corrected the concerns in both units in half the time I was expecting. Dayne took the time to answer all my questions; he was very polite and professional. Unfortunate that I couldn't trust my contractor to find someone to do the job right the first time; however, I am very lucky to be a Weld customer now.

Low integrity, predatory billing. Called Weld & Sons on a weekend when I wasn't available to come look at a leak that was pouring down from a pipe in the ceiling. I am aware of weekend pricing and that it was going to be extra, not a problem. Initially excited to have found someone available as my plumber was out of town. Technician comes out and calls me in less than 15 minutes to let me know that the upstairs dishwasher was the thing leaking (happened to be above a pipe below), and that "they don't fix dishwashers, going to have to find someone else to fix it ".
No problem. Really sucks that I wasn't available to check it myself but I figure for a 15 minute call, even with the weekend pricing, shouldn't be too bad. Plumbers are insanely expensive, so maybe $150. Lord knows they couldn't with a straight face charge $200 for an unfixed issue. $375 is my bill. Yes that's correct. $375. Their call waiting boasts of their "integrity and honesty" I don't know about you, the last time I drove somewhere and fixed nothing I didn't charge a couple 8 hour days worth of work's money for it.
Completely predatory. I called Mark, the manager or owner, and he says "there's nothing we can do. The technician was there checking and testing stuff". No he wasn't. He called me with the source of the leak in 15 minutes, said he couldn't fix it, and left. Absolutely horrible. Look elsewhere for your plumbing needs. There is something you can do, Mark. You can, when your technician fixes nothing, charge a reasonable price and maintain a good reputation. But you had a chance and chose money instead.

The owner of this company is a kind, hard-working, and honest man. The crew that came to my house was the same--prompt, courteous, and highly professional. They worked extremely quickly and efficiently and did an amazing job explaining everything they were going to do. I would HIGHLY recommend Weld & Sons Plumbing to anyone who needs plumbing service!

This company was highly recommended to me by a friend. I needed help with a vessel sink installation. When I first called them, the lady on the phone didn't seem to know what I was talking about, and even told me "I'm not even sure we do that here". I thought to myself, if not a plumber, who should I have called to install a vessel sink? Then she told me everyone was on vacation the following week (it was around Christmas) so I may have to wait, but that she'd check with the owner if they even did vessel sinks.
A couple hours later she said that indeed they did, and we were able to set up the appointment for the earliest date (I think it was the following Monday, which I was pleased with). The technician came out, called me ahead of time, he was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. He was in and out in less than an hour and I was very pleased with the results.
He told me not to run water through it for 24 hour to allow it to dry, which I did. When I checked the sink the following evening, I noticed there was a puddle of water underneath. I felt crushed, and called them to report the issue. They told me they would send someone out to fix it, even if I wasn't home, which I was again, pleased with. When I came home that day, the sink was working beautifully and I was happy.
Except he had left a big muddy and wet footprint on my brand new entryway floor. I was just relieved that I had waterproof vinyl planks, but he didn't know that. What if it was real wood? I didn't come home until hours later. It would have been ruined. Anyway. Days later, to my utmost surprise, I received a bill in the mail. They had charged me for the part (which was fair), but also for the extra time!
I left a message saying that I did not understand why I had to pay extra for a job that wasn't done right the first time, just because the guy didn't take the time to make sure there were no leaks. After almost 48 hours, the manager finally returned my call, and instead of trying to make things right, he went on and on about "explaining why I was getting charged, that he found a problem with the existing plumbing that needed to be fixed, and that's why he had to charge me".
The plumbing under my sink had never leaked before and I said that I was really upset, that no one had told me I'd be charged extra, and he just wouldn't budge. He kept "explaining" things, I kept saying that I was being unfairly charged, and I was getting more and more upset, and finally he said "well you don't think we should charge you for the extra part, either?" Needless to say, it was obvious that he has no customer service skills, and instead of making things right, he tried hard to get me to pay the bill for another agonizing 10 minutes, before agreeing to delete the bill.
I have worked in customer service enough in my life to know that this is part of doing business, sometimes you have to eat the cost of something or go back and spend the time necessary to fix things in order to make your customer happy, which is a small but necessary price to pay to take good care of your customers so that they will come back. Bottom line is, I think they do good work, but based on how I was treated, I don't think I will be calling them again.

I was very impressed with Weld & Sons. They were most responsive (even by email) and friendly out of the 6 plumbing companies that we contacted. In addition to a very reasonable pricing structure they were right on time and did excellent work. All details were adequately explained. Having used other plumbing companies in the West suburbs I recommend Weld & Sons very highly.

We have used Weld & Sons for all our plumbing needs for the past few years and I'm always happy with the result. Today we had them come over to fix a leaky sink, unclog a bathtub drain and fix a shower faucet, and as always, I was super pleased. Clyde was our plumber and he gave me some great tips to keep our faucet working better despite the hard water we have, and was just overall a great person to chat with as he worked.
I could tell he took pride in a job well done and it is reflected in just that: a job well done. Thank you Clyde, and thank you Weld & Sons for hiring such great people like Clyde!

You can't go wrong with Weld and Sons! If you need the plumbing job done right the first time, Weld and Sons gets it done! They get it done, are practical, patient and explain everything, are considerate of others budgets and have a great team from management, scheduling to their plumbing team. They know what they are doing.

Outstanding service from Weld & Sons, from the front office to the guys doing the work in the field. On the coldest night of the year our old water softener sprang a leak at the main inlet pipe. Replacement was already overdue, and we didn't know how long we'd have to wait with so many people dealing with frozen pipes. Zach arrived even sooner that expected and was able to replace the unit the same day, for the price we had been quoted. Prompt. professional, polite, and thorough--and left the place spotless after the repair. We were happy to have them go above and beyond our expectations, and would recommend Weld & Sons exclusively for plumbing repairs.

We've owned our home for five years and up until now, our only plumbing needs have been for clogged drains. This time we had an actual leak, and our normal drain unclogging company advised us that we'd need a Master Plumber and recommended Weld & Sons. I'm glad they did. My only complaint is not really a complaint. They were booked out a few weeks and I had to wait (waaah!).
But they were very up front about it, and they even offered to call me if there was a cancelation. They actually DID do that, and I was impressed! So anyway, Dayne was the plumber that visited my house and he called before he came. He arrived right at the start of the stated service window and was super courteous. He took about three seconds to assess the issue and showed us what was wrong.
He explained what he was going to do, which included cutting a hole in the ceiling of our basement (yikes). He had to run out to his truck a couple of times and took his shoes on and off each time - even after I told him that he really didn't have to. As he worked his way through the project, he kept me updated and communicated well. And when he was done, he walked us through, explained the charges on the invoice and collected payment.
I was delighted to see that first the hole in the ceiling was smaller than I thought it was going to be and second it was actually very neatly cut out. He was a total pro and we would absolutely call Weld & Sons again. In fact, I noted that our neighbor had them out to their house the next week!

We have used Weld and Sons on three occasions over the past 3-4 years and there's good reason why we trust them. We like their up front pricing structure and they have always billed either at or under the estimated cost. No surprise bill at the end of the job. Additionally, their workers are friendly and on time. We will always call Weld and Sons and have referred family and friends to them with the highest recommendation.

I needed some gas piping done and got one bid for $1100. I called Weld and Sons and got a phone estimate for $900. I knew the bid might be off a bit as it was site-unseen but went with them as they were lower and very friendly and competent on the phone. The work was well done and on-time. The bill came to $1900, not $900. When they were done it was up to me to schedule the inspection even though upon finishing the job, the workers stated that they would probably need a "pressure-test.
Something they would need to be there for. I scheduled the inspection and the inspector asked for a pressure test. I had to schedule an additional inspection, coordinating it with Weld and Sons, and it passed without issue. I then got a $222 bill for the additional inspection. After a few phone calls insisting that the original bill included inspection ( and that they knew this more thorough inspection would be required) they relented and only charged me $77.
The first bill clearly states "If additional gas work is required by the inspector - additional charges will apply". There was no more work, they just didn't pass the first inspection. This should be their responsibility. They did decent work. You can hire them but get the bid in writing and watch out for extra charges. Or find somebody without these issues.

Brad came out early as my plumbing issue escalated, which was really amazing! I had standing water on my bathroom and laundry room floors which increased with every flush, washer load or shower drain. He cleared our line in good time and did a great job! He explained all he did and wrote it down for me on the receipt. He took the time to chat with my husband on the phone also. He was super friendly with my two dogs and very nice to me. I will call Weld & Sons Plumbing every time we have a plumbing issue! Thank you so much, Brad!

Carlton and Matthew did a great job installing a bathroom vanity and toilet in a tight space. They were prompt, efficient, and performed the work flawlessly. They also consulted with me regarding exactly how to position the vanity. Last but not least, they cleaned up the area well when they were finished. I've been extremely happy with the work performed by Weld & Sons other times I've hired them, and Carlton and Matthew continued that excellence!

After getting nearly taken by Deans (looonnng story) we contacted this firm. We were overwhelmed by the responsiveness, fairness and overall experience of dealing with them. It didn't go perfect - when they hauled the new water heater in, the delivery guy totally smashed our dogs wooden gated area (dog was fine after recovering from the loud noise, etc.) Weld promised reimbursement and promptly delivered (along with Starbucks gift cards for our trouble). Will happily recommend them in the future!

These are the people you need in a crisis. We had a water pipe bust at 3am. Following clean up we immediately sent a request to them based on their yelp ratings, (4:30am). A lovely lady rang us back first thing in the morning around 7:30.and had someone out to our home by noon. The gentleman they sent, Scott, was just a delight. Respectful, knowledgeable, kind, hard-working.actually came in on his day off to help out.
He did a fantastic job on our kitchen ceiling finding the burst pipe and another frozen one in no time.and with as little damage in cutting out the ceiling as possible. This is how you run a business and create raving fans. Thank you Scott and Weld & Sons!

I am really impressed with Weld & Sons. We had them help us with a draining issue in the kitchen and then asked them to come back to replace plumbing to our main sewage line. They were very flexible with timing, did excellent work and their pricing was very reasonable. I would recommend Weld & Sons to anyone!

I could not recommend Weld and Sons more. After someone from the City broke a pipe early this morning (then told me they wouldnt fix it), I had no water in my house and was desperate. After calling 20+ plumbers, Weld and Sons was the first to get back to me and gave me information I needed right away. After sending pictures of the broken pipe, they responded immediately to my email and sent someone within the next hour (even earlier than they had quoted me).
When Manny arrived, he was friendly, professional and quick to get the broken piece fixed. I am so pleased with this company for getting me out of a pickle with professionalism and at a reasonable price.

I called early afternoon to see if someone would be able to come look at a leak in my ceiling I believed to be coming from the upstairs bathroom. I fully expected atleast a few days to be penciled in for an appointment, but they took the details of my situation and my address down, and within an hour told me they were able to send someone out this afternoon.
It was a plumber who actually lived down the street from my house and it would be his last job for the day. He was extremely professional, gave me a step by step of what his plan was, removed my leak and fixed up a shotty job a contractor had done to the toilet all less than 2 hours. Very reasonably priced! Would absolutely recommend.

Today was the first day using Weld and Sons. We woke up to a leak in the basement and called. Dan was at our house within 40 minutes. He did a great job and was pleasant to work with. He even found another issue we were unaware of and fixed that too. Considering it was a Saturday morning and weekend pricing, the total cost was reasonable. We will for sure be using them in the future!

Weld & Sons recently sent a plumber out to install my already purchased water softener. The plumber did a great job and the price was mid-range. He even noticed a part was missing and sent his guy to get it asap. The reason I will be using them in the future is that I thought it was leaking a month later.they came out that same day & didn't charge me an arm and a leg even though we figured out my basement was leaking, not the water softener. Thanks for being fair and for prioritizing an emergency. You guys rock.

I first had an urgent need for a plumber on a Friday. Then later needed to have a pedestal sink and toilet installed in a recently remodeled bathroom. Weld & Sons to the rescue! Both times, it was Ben who rose to the occasion with timely arrival, meticulous work, thorough cleanup and very reasonable prices. I won't go into great detail. However, I will highlight one action that I think speaks volumes about Weld & Sons values and ethics.
While completing the sink/toilet work, Ben ran out of white calk. He called his office to request that someone deliver new calk tubes to my home. Because he felt it was his fault to have arrived without enough material to finish the job, he did not charge for the ~30+ minute interval while waiting to be resupplied. I suspect that there are other companies out there that would have handled this situation less transparently and with less integrity. In any case, I highly recommend Weld & Sons for any and all of your future plumbing needs.

I had Ben come out and replace some copper pipes that sprung a leak. The price for the repair was reasonable and they arrived in 2 hours after I called. I am not sure if this is typical or if I was just lucky. Either way, I would use them again and recommend them to anyone needing a plumber. Way cheaper than the "major brand" plumbers and give you "major brand" service.
