We always call Norblom. Been calling them since 1994 when we built our house. They are professional, prompt, courteous and pricing is just fine. Local Family owned. We recommend them to family and friends who call them as well. We had a leaking bathroom tub faucet. During the course of working on this we discovered the main water shut-off valve also needed to be replaced in order to complete the work. This necessitated the city coming out to shut off the water, and while we waited for that the plumber went on another call. When he had the parts and the city had come by, the plumber completed the job quickly - he was very pleasant and efficient.

The problem was the outrageous amount we were charged for this work - $1,420. We felt we had no choice but to have the work done because we were having trouble finding other plumbers to do the work. I had to ask the company for a receipt, and wanted to know the parts and labor totals. They did not provide that and I have already let the company know I would wait to write this review if they wanted to provide a breakdown. I received no reply. We feel that this was an outrageous charge and for no more that two hours of labor and parts that seem to be inexpensive when looking on the internet.

They saved me thousands of dollars of plumbing and sheet rock work by giving me a tip to check my bathtub. Thank you guys and they didn't charge me a dollar. I will always use them in the future.

Norblom was the first plumber I called. Jim was friendly, professional, and very helpful on the phone. He gave me a decent idea of what to expect for the repairs I might need based on my novice description of the symptoms. He also provided what turned out to be a pretty spot on range of what I should be prepared to spend (of which they actually came in on the low end of the range.) Being a pragmatic person, I called some other plumbers, because I did not want to just go with the first place I talked to. what a waste of time that was!

No one else even came close to how courteous and helpful Jim at Norblom was. So I called Norblom back to book service and I got a different person on the phone. She was also very helpful and friendly and when I told her I had talked to someone else earlier she got me back on the phone with Jim. I was able to get someone out to our house in 3 days, which was great as the pipe repair was not necessarily an emergency but something I wanted fixed asap.

The plumber, Alex, was on time, very friendly, and did a wonderful job figuring out the issue and getting to right to work. I had done some prep work to control the dust in our finished basement as I knew they would have to break up the cement floor. Alex appreciated that I had done that work myself and saved him the time and trouble of controlling the dust/mess. Alex explained the issues very well and gave me options without being pushy or trying to upsell product or services to pad the bill.

He listened to my requests and followed through with great service and an excellent attitude. The cherry on top is he finished with time to spare! He was scheduled to be at my house all day but finished in about 4 house even tho he had to go out for a part because my 1940's house had an irregular sized pipe (time was deducted from my bill). When he was almost ready to leave, I pulled the ol' by the way could you look at something else?

Certainly frustrating for any service person! He was consistent with his professional and courteous manner and said no problem, let's take a look. We were not getting adequate pressure when running hot water in the shower. He was very knowledgeable of the fixtures and was able to disassemble and troubleshoot the issue and quickly find the problem.

I should mention, I have had other people tell me to save money I should just to replace the fixtures myself. I am glad I didn't do that myself because the fixtures were actually fine and the obstruction was in the hot water line before the fixture. My wife now has sufficient water pressure in her shower and somehow I came to be the hero. Alex should get all of the credit but I'll take what I can get. Thanks again, Alex! I will only work with Norblom Plumbing. If you haven't worked with them yet, please consider my experience/s. Again, they were responsive, communicative, friendly and helpful. This time, my water heater collapsed (17 years RIP), and I was literally leaking money (+$300 on my last water bill!). When I finally figured out what was happening, I called Norblom Plumbing for help. Amy scheduled service, Mike showed up on time, and my water heater was replaced all within 24 hours. I appreciate that Mike gave me an overview of differences and code updates from the last water heater after completing install. Fast, responsive, and problem solved!

I am so pleased with their customer service. First they recommended a wonderful drain cleaner. And then when it turned out we did need a plumber as well, to address some more serious issues, Jim had several phone calls with me and invited me to send in photos so we could figure out and schedule the appropriate service and length of time, to do work on our over 100 year old house and plumbing. I love that they put in the needed time. Also we have used them before and we had excellent service then too. They are helpful honest and professional!

Decent work, poor accountability. Mistakes were made that required just a bit more communication or attention to detail. Unfortunately this required return trips to fix and they were not available or willing to make themselves available to make up for this, even after politely explaining our frustration. I expected more from a plumber that costs $200 per hour.

Earlier this summer I had a plumbing issue that impacted both units of a duplex where there was a leak from one toilet in the upper unit into the bathroom of the lower. Norblom sent one plumber to look at and diagnose the issue with a 4-hour timeslot allotted to the fix. This plumber didn't even remove the 2' x 2' board we had screwed to the ceiling to investigate the issue, which I know because the small beads of caulk were still in tact on the the side of the board.

He just said we need to fully remodel the bathroom. I also needed the kitchen faucet fixed, which he didn't do either. I then met with an estimator to review the project and never received the estimate. All of this cost me over $200 for nothing and wasted valuable time (which they overcharged on time and never gave me a return - confirmed by the manager).

I understand the conditions of the bathrooms were not 100% perfect, so I decided to call a competent plumber (Rascher Plumbing --> A+++!) and they came out, repaired the floor, fixed the toilet, fixed the kitchen all within a 4-hour timeslot. Do yourself a favor and save some time and money by using a different plumber.

Had new water heater installed Sept 2020. Manufacturer Controller failed in April of 2021. Nordblom team were able to find the part and installed in the same day. Shout out to Amy and Mike for persistence and flawless communication to get this repair resolved. TY Brian Service: Repair water heater

I needed a new water heater due to the manner in which the old was vented so upon furnace replacement the old would not continue to vent. The installer was on time, professional and was efficient and completed the work leaving it looking great. The installer also remembered doing additional work in the house 7 years ago. Very impressive that your team remembers houses and home owners.

I have always enjoyed working with Norblom and was pleased when I found out it was Norblom that was contracted by Standard Heating for the heater. I would recommend your company anytime.

I had Norblom out to replace an old water heater that had started leaking the day before. They were on time, professional, and charged exactly what had been quoted over email. The quote itself was significantly higher than I have seen from other companies ($1958.99 for an incredibly basic water heater), but I went with it because it's December and not the time for me or tenants to be without hot water.

The only complaint I had with the service itself is a painted door that was scratched in the process of moving the old water heater up the stairs. They had to work a miracle to fit the 75 gallon water heater up the stairs, so a scratch is understandable, but for the price of service I would have expected an acknowledgement and apology. All in all, though, they did their job and I'm grateful to have hot water again.

So kind and helpful. Pilot light went out and instead of charging me a service call the person who answered phone was kind enough to walk me through the steps to get it back on. Would definitely recommend and use them for my next project. Thank you Norblom!

Wow! I don't think I have ever experienced better customer service in decades than from Jim at Norblom Plumbing! I requested on-line through Yelp help with a frozen pipe in my house at about 10pm and within 15 mins or less we had a super helpful reply with a link to see if we could fix it ourselves. As it turned out we called them a couple days later and Jim provided helpful info and additional tips we could try ourselves as well as pricing if we wanted them to come out to our place.

We felt like we were listened to and supported during a stressful time. Just those two interactions and their prior Yelp reviews, made us decide that we will definitely be going to Norblom Plumbing for any plumbing needs going forward! Customer care still exists and pays off! Thank you, Jim!

Had a water hammer issue. They arrived on time and looked things over. Installed the parts I purchased and that solved it. Quick and efficient without other unneeded recommendations to issues I didn't ask about. Would use again and refered us to the remodeling part of the team for our bathroom we are thinking of updating. Great overall experience.

Did a great job of installing my tankless water heater for a reasonable price. Quick response, done in one day including removing the old unit and installing the tankless in a slightly different location.

Extremely quick to respond. Had service the next day. Alex did a great job- identified a problem not seen. Did a quick fix and improved the quality of materials than was previous used. Highly recommend.

Quick, personable, and knowledgable! I needed a vintage sink installed in my bathroom and Jim walked me through the process and answered all of my questions and provided complete transparency before even booking to ensure this was a good fit for both parties. I can't say enough about Norblom. Jim and Jake are the best! Jim is the guy to talk to have the appointment set up, super nice, knows plumbing inside and out. We always get someone out quickly. Jake is the guy we ask for every time. He is great, efficient, on time, and works smart. Even has treats for my dogs. We won't ever go anywhere else for plumbing.

Their service and speed was great. I was impressed with their communication before and during the repairs. I'd definitely recommend them and call them back for other projects I have.

I called and requested a quote for a new water heater as my old one was done working. I spoke with Mike and after sending him a few pictures of my existing water heater set-up an appointment was scheduled for the next day. Everything went well, it took an hour and a half overall to remove the old heater and install the new one. Paul the plumber was efficient and answered my questions as he worked. The price I was charged was the same as I was quoted (cost plus permit).

Great experience from the first phone call. On time, courteous and professional, quick, clean, and did quality work. I will definitely work with them again. Work performed: Remove old leaking valves and cap lines at start of kitchen demolition. Installed new sink, faucet and air gap, and hook up dishwasher. Replace broken garden hose spigot.

Very disappointed! "our neighborhood favorite" this is a SCAM business! I had no pressure water coming from the kitchen sank, guy comes in takes a look from the bottom sink and right away told me it cannot be fixed today, told me the problems are the pipes he thinks but doesn't know exactly until he breaks down my walls downstairs ceiling that connect to the pipe to see what's wrong with the pressure and pipes, estimate couple thousands dollars.

I asked if there someway to do a short cut and he said at least $1700 to reconnect to a different pipe! 30mins conversation charged me $100 for not getting anything done! A week goes by my dad decides to fix it himself ( he 74 years old really didn't want him to fix it) took him 2 hours it replace the bottom pipes and valve, water comes back up in the kitchen!

I just saved couple thousands dollars from a unnecessary work, the Material cost him less than $100 dollars! Be very careful, if you seem like you don't know what you doing, they well trick you and charge you 4x times than what it really cost!

Great service, but work hard and charge hard as well. Quotes are always under. For the labor, they charge prep time, clean up time, work time, and wait time (waiting for water turning on, waiting for inspector.) as well. I could understand that the plumber didn't want to wet my CONCRETE BASEMENT floor, but it costs me another 10 minutes of labor to wait until the water doesn't come out from the pipe anymore.

The coordination is poor. The plumber didn't show at the first appointment. The material is good quality but three, four times more expansive than the most expansive you can find at home centers. Just like other reviews mentioned.

I couldn't be happier with the service we received from Norblom. They were fast, nice, responsive, reasonably priced, and professional. Moreover, they were able to send someone to our condo within a few days. We had our awful Ikea faucet replaced. They charged time + material; the first hour is more expensive, I wanna say something like ~$200.

The next hour is a teeny bit cheaper, and they charge by the 15 minutes. No silly charges for coming here and no silly diagnostic/pricing fees. They even recommended good hardware/fixtures - basically told me to stick to Delta, Moen, and Kohler. *** Update *** Norblom (Kurt to be specific) has been by our place multiple times. He has changed multiple fixtures for us (shower, bathroom sink, kitchen, etc), and he has also replaced a water line to the fridge ice maker. Each experience has been great. I can't say enough about how awesome this company is.

Refused to come out and check their work after newly installed pipes continued to leak. No follow up call from manager, nothing. Never again. P.S. Mc Quillan Bros. Plumbing were able to fix it just fine. This "manager" at Norblum can say all he wants in his long reply, he wasn't there in the office when I called, and he wasn't at my house, so go to someone who backs up their work and sends someone out to check on it if there is an issue.

Called Norblum yesterday afternoon to have them come out and look at my upstairs tub drain that wasn't working - drained as if through a pinhole. They were able to schedule me for the following day at 2 pm. They provided text and phone call reminders which were great. Today they were great about contacting me with updates on their arrival. Arrived at 2:40 pm and he came right in and took a look.

My biggest fear was a previous quote I got for $900+ to fix from a different company. However, Norblum was able to review the situation and estimate it would take him less than an hour to fix. All told it would be around $250. He was done in 45 min and was still able to fill the tub up to make sure there weren't any leaks. And it all came in at their time estimate. I couldn't believe it! Now our tub drains normally AND it was a fraction of a previous quote. Norblum will be my sole plumber provider from now on!

Norblom Plumbing Eek! Methinks not. Norblom Plumbing charges Labor and Materials. Their Labor rates are "average". I was quoted over the phone 1-2 hours of labor. It ended up taking my plumber 3H 15 minutes. They charge $47 every 15 minutes. So I was not very happy about that, it seemed very much like a bait and switch. What really upset me was the amount they charge for materials.

I was charged $303 for $70 worth of materials. $82 for 12'-0" of 3/8" copper tubing. that's an insane markup that should cost $12-$20 not $81! It was like that for every single item they billed for materials. Look somewhere else for fair plumbing work.

We returned from a lengthy vacation to find that our water pipes were frozen. Tried to thaw ourselves, but it ultimately needed service. After looking here on Yelp, we called Norblom for help. Zach came out and inspected the pipes, identified the frozen part, and helped us thaw it within 30 minutes. Efficient and effective, and only charged for the service call.

Later that day, we discovered a clog near our laundry drain. Another call to Zach, and the next day he returned to snake it out within 20 minutes. No fuss, and the cost was reasonable. We've had rough experiences with other plumbers and HVAC specialists. Not with Norblom. Highly recommended.

I woke up one morning to realize that my sewer is backing up in my basement! Oh boy, not the best way to start a day. I started calling some local places with decent ratings and when they didn't call us back after an hour or so, I started to look for more options. There was this Get a Quote feature on Yelp that I haven't tried before. I decided to give it a try.

I put my message with my name and contact details and I am able to send it to some or I can choose more to include to send. These send as a message to the business and when they reply to you it is also a message. It worked out well. One thing i learned is a plumber isn't used to clear a clogged pipe, you need a pipe cleaning crew. Not all plumbers can do that or have the equipment to do it.

A woman from the office called to say they could be out in an hour or 2. The lady on the phone was polite and professional, she discussed the rates they charge and the prices that I may be looking at and I agreed to have them come out. $149.00 to clean out the drain if it takes less than an hour. Not bad. They also followed-up with a message on Yelp to be clear.

I felt good, I headed to work and left my wife to work from home and answer any more calls that come to the house. I went to work and headed back home during lunch to try to catch the guy working on our pipes. He was there and gone before I could get there. My clog was under the house which means it wasn't roots or broken pipes between me and the street.

There was some good news. My wife said his name was john, he was very friendly and polite also. My wife felt bad for what he had to dig through but he made her feel at ease and went to work. He discovered that it was wet wipes that caused our issue. We will not be flushing those anymore. We have also started buying the flush-able ones to minimize the chance of this happening again. Thank you for a job well done. I highly recommend these guys. I am keeping them as my preferred plumber of choice.

The guy did a good job, and was really friendly with my kids. I once asked a plumber why they are so expensive - "Its' because we have to deal with shit."

I left a previous review saying that they never showed up, which is true. The next day, they returned my voicemail and the secretary said it was her fault - she had a personal emergency and she got distracted. Not great for me but at least it wasn't a bad leak. Stuff happens, and they came the next day. The plumbing job was good, fast, professional. I've used Norblom plumbing on other occasions as well and they've always been good. The one hiccup seems to be just a one-time mistake. The people at the company are honest and do a good job.

I checked Yelp before looking for a plumbing business to help us with an issue another company had called to our attention. Norblom had lots of ardent fans and very few less-than-positive reviews, so I called them. When I described the problem, the nice lady on the phone said we needed to talk to a project manager. Yikes! Sounded serious. Steve and I connected after a few tries, and he was always responsive.

I called on a Friday, and he got here Monday first thing. He spent quite a bit of time with me, looking at the exterior of the house, up and down three flights of stairs several times. He basically said that they would be happy to do the work we might need, but it would be very expensive and not really necessary. I wasn't charged a penny for his valuable time (25+ years of experience).

I was so impressed with his expertise, practical approach, honesty and generosity, Norblom will be the first place I call for work, and I've already shared my story with the entire neighborhood. When will all the on-a-quota, over-selling companies realize that word gets around that they care more for themselves than the customer? I bet Norblom gets more calls than anyone, and more repeat business and referrals, because their friendly, honest, practical approach appeals to hard-working, honest people of the Twin Cities. Steve, welcome to St. Paul! Because of you, your company will grow! They are fortunate to have you.
