Scale is not harmful to health but it destroys valuable equipment and causes problems in pipes. Scale problems are measured according to the degree of hardness in the water a product of the calcium and magnesium in the water. Experts claim that levels higher than 250 ppm are destructive to equipment and plumbing. Crystallised scale in home plumbing accelerates corrosion, causes blockages, leaks & serious expensive damage to pipes.

I have had this little device attached to my cold feed to boiler for about 10 years now. After 7 years of operating my "new" dishwasher without salts - it started to play up. My friend who diagnosed the problem could not believe I had managed to go that long without adding salts, so i bought some, and after a couple of doses all is fine again. I realised it is the Hydroflow HS38 that's been taking care of all my appliances and my boiler of course, pretty much free of all limescale problems. All I see is a bit of limescale in the bottom of my kettle which doesn't cause problems

I wasn't aware of how much cost a new heat exchanger till I end up buying a new boiler. I heard about the lime scale remover called Hydroflow HS38 from a friend who has it installed by British Gas about 5 years ago and decide to get one. It was dead easy to install and there is no maintenance involved. Highly recommended it if you want to save money in long term.
