Mr. Waterheater started in 1981 installing water heaters in Pittsburgh, PA. The winning combination of better than competitive pricing and unparalleled service were used to build a successful specialty plumbing business. Expansion to other markets is the goal of this family owned business with three generations of plumbing professionals.
Mr. Waterheater specializes in residential and commercial water heater repair and replacement. We take care of all your water heater needs, including water pressure regulators, expansion tanks, water shut-off valves, and any other plumbing item related to the water heater. Our Standard Installation is defined as the installation of a new water heater in place of an old one in which there is clear access to the old water heater. For copper water lines, we include up to 1 foot of copper for minor changes at no additional charge.
There are a variety of water heater options. Water heaters come in many sizes, have several energy source options, and have various warranties available. There are gas, electric, oil, and green power options. There are tank type water heaters and tankless units. The knowledgeable staff at Mr. Waterheater can guide you when selecting the size, warranty and type of tank that's best for you.
One of the most popular ways to "go green" is to install a tankless water heater. Tankless water heaters, also referred to as On-Demand or Instantaneous water heaters, are more prevalent in the southern states (warmer climate) than they are in the northern states. In the past few years, tankless water heaters have taken more market share from the tank type water heaters because home owners like the idea of heating hot water only when it's needed.

Waterhester went on weekend. Called mr Waterhester Monday morning when they opened at 8AM they said they would be out the same day about 1 to 3. They called back and said would be able to get someone out around 930. And that's when they got here 2 men and looked it over gave me what I thought was a fair price and finished In under 2 hrs. Did the job cleaned up after them and was gone. Couldn't recommend a company more than them

I had an issue that required a technician to come and relight my tank, as I was unable to do it myself. The two gentlemen who came out were VERY professional, courteous and explained every step of the process to me in a way that I can understand. The office was very responsive to my needs, dispatched the nearest tech(s) and followed up, insuring my complete satisfaction. I will continue to use them for my needs and will always recommend Mr Waterheater to anyone in need of quality service.

They have replaced my tank, changed my pilot assembly, replaced my pressure relief valve, and installed a mixing value. All of this was done by different technicians over the last 8 years. In my opinion the cost of labor and parts are pricey but, Ive never had a bad experience. The prices do seem to be on par with the rest of Pittsburgh plumbing services. Would recommend.

The gentlemen that installed my new water heater today were friendly, courteous, funny, on time, and the price was exactly what was quoted to me- no surprises! Excellent workmanship and they even helped set me up with a cleaning crew for all the water damage that occurred due to my old tank leaking everywhere. Highly recommend this company!

I found my 12 year old water heater leaking water (thankfully into a floor drain). Water was pouring out rapidly. I called Mr. Waterheater at 11:00AM and by 3:00PM the same day I had a new hot water heater installed. They were seriously at my house less than 2 hours after I called. They removed the old heater and cleaned up everything. They were also $300 less than the first place I called. Great job team!

We were having some issues with our water tank leaking, so we called Mr Waterheater. They returned our call immediately and sent out a technician as soon as we were available to have them come. The service on site was extremely friendly and quick. They walked me through what was causing our issue and even gave me the option to fix it myself or shop around if I wanted without any pressure. I opted to have them replace the necessary parts and the technicians did a great job. 100% would recommend them and will be working with them again if needed.

I have to apologize so much for the review I left today. My wife who was more involved in this than I was, told me that I had everything mixed up including the the people the times etc. We first called a different company. They came up and looked at the units then Said they would be back the next day but apparently did not respond after they left.
We called Mr. water heater they came out very quickly, work very professionally, did a very nice job and saved us around $1,000 from the other company. Again I really apologize for getting everything mixed up but I'll give Mr. water heater a thumbs up!

I called Mr Waterheater for a replacement tank on a Saturday. When I gave them the model and serial number of my tank, I was told it was under warranty and I should contact the manufacturer which I did and sure enough a replacement tank was covered. However, I did have to use a plumber that handled this brand so I did not use Mr Waterheater's services.
I highly recommend Mr Waterheater due to their honesty and integrity. They could have easily sold me a new tank and received the installation service fee but they were honest and I saved over $500! Thank you Mr Waterheater!

Super fast, best price available. I called at 2 pm and they had a new tank in at 11 am the next day, and my replacement was not an emergency. Complete professionals. If you're going to call yourself Mr. Something you had better be pretty darn good at that Something, and these gents lived up to the name. Service: Water heater installation

My old water heater died on me and I called Mr Waterheater hoping to get a replacement in the next couple of days. They were at my door in less than 2 hours. They were very professional, and told me exactly what everything was going to cost. The price seemed reasonable, and they were very efficient with the installation and cleanup.

Our pilot light would not stay lit, so we called rheem as we had a full warranty on it. Mr water heater called the next morning and came out that day. The were able to order the new part and had it shipped to us. As soon as it came in, I called them and they came out not even 2 hours later to replace the part. They exceeded all expectations with the quickness of coming out and getting everything done.

A few months ago my hot water tank wouldn't light and I thought it was dead, so I called and ordered a new tank. They showed up and got my existing tank lit and let me decide to try riding out my current tank or replacing it, even though they had the tank I ordered with them and it would have been an $800 call versus an $80 call. They could have just showed up and replaced it without trying to light it.
I decided to see how long my existing tank would last. A few months later it developed a pinhole leak and it was time to replace for real this time. I called and they showed up within an hour of my call. The replaced my water heater, expansion tank, shut-off valves, and new gas line to the tank in a little over an hour and the pricing was fair. Amazing service, fast response, and fair pricing. I would recommend them to anyone looking to replace or upgrade their tank.

Our hot water heater began leaking on a Saturday night during covid 19. We called around 11pm and a team was there to replace it the next morning at 10am. We felt very safe! They called and came through our garage, wore masks and gloves and we simply left our credit card. They called us via cell phone while we stayed in another floor of our home. They explained what was wrong and within the hour replaced the entire heater and were gone no contact. Good pricing for a weekend call and total replacement. Highly recommend

I decided to finally get some water heater repairs done last week and reached out to Mr Waterheater after seeing some of their ads. I had low expectations based on recent experiences with some area plumbers, but I was blown away by how professional, prompt, AND affordable Mr Waterheater was. I called to inquire about services and was offered an appointment that same day.
The quote I was given on the call ended up being completely accurate, and I paid towards the lower end of what they had quoted. The technicians were polite and completed the work quickly and efficiently. I will absolutely call Mr Waterheater again if I need future work.

This water heater is under warranty for tank and parts, Once the technician arrives Please have them call 800-432-8373. If the unit is non repairable with parts the tank can be returned to the local Home Depot for a warranty replacement. Thank you, Laura Thompson Mr Water Heater replaced the tank before I received your email, they also took the tank with them.
I called the #s in this email and the person I talked to said the company needs the tank back. That's fine and all, they still have the tank. If I get the tank and take it back to Home Depot will I get reimburse for the tank I bought from Mr Water or a partial one? If not Im out almost 2 grand, $1200 for the first tank that Roto Rooter put in.
Plus I found out on 6/26/2019 when they put it in on 5/2016 the labor warranty expired the month before 4/2016, so how good was the tank they gave me to begin with!? then $680 for the second tank Mr Water put in on 6/2019 even tho the first tank was under warranty but at that time I did not know this. Also according to the Rooter tech I talked to he informed me that my Rheem warranty was for parts only, not a tank, then quoted another $1200 to replace that tank.
It was Mr Water that looked up the warranty for me and told me about the out of date labor warranty, so what I want to know did he know the tank itself was still under warranty? Does any of these business's know what they are doing? Or maybe they just like taking advantage of people. The person I talked to from Rheem said that he understood why I was upset, because the process Rheem has set up for warranties and returns is not clear, he also said there is no direction on the tanks on how to proceed when something happens to a tank, just a phone number. I am a single mother of 3 working part time trying to stay above water.

Just had our 10 yr old power vent gas water heater spring a leak. It's a specific Bradford White model that fits our low headroom basement. Called and explained the situation to the nice lady who answered the phone, who understood exactly what we needed. New unit was installed that afternoon(!) by a polite and competent plumber. Price was fair, I thought, even including some gas line modifications and installation of my own expansion tank. These are super nice folks to deal with. Highly recommended.

Had Mr. water heater out to fix a pilot light that keeps going out. The tech and what seemed like his child were extremely awkward and wouldnt speak unless to mumble to himself. Did not tell me what they were doing and then called me out to the vehicle to sign and then left. Were clearly eager to be done. A few hours later, no water coming out of the hot at all, they didnt turn it back on. I am not plumbing savy. Thankfully the second tech was very helpful and talked me through turning it back on.

Found the tank leaking Friday night. Called as soon as they opened at 8 the next morning. Scott answer immediately, asked a few questions and set up an appointment on Saturday afternoon. Nick installed the new tank under two hours. Very professional and knowledgeable. Put tarps down to protect the finished basement and did a quick walkthrough after the install.

Sorry I have to give a star at all. Drained the old tank all over our basement floor. Soaked the floor and carpet which now must be removed. My wife asked them to use a hose to drain the old tank. they did not listen. They did however move my washer.left it off balance.left it dirty since they used it as a tool bench.and were also rude to my wife.
I called John who said he would have a restoration company contact me to at least get rid of the old carpet. When they called.they wanted to charge us for such a privilege. Im truly sorry I ever contacted them. A higher price and a few days of cold sjowers would have been worth it over dealing with this.

I contacted Mr Waterheater on a Sat., as my tank was leaking. They came early Monday, as promised. The installers were very professional and did an excellent job. My complaint is with the price I was quoted. The quote was for $700. No mention was made of any additional fees. The bill was an additional $90, $30 of which I ok'ed to move the expansion tank.
There was a $10 removal fee, which I was not told about & an additional $50 fee because I had a water softener. When I called to question the price, I was told the quote was between $700-$750. It was not. When I originally mentioned the water softener, I was told it would be no problem. These were, pure and simple, add on fees because they knew they could do it. I'm not a complainer, but feel I was taken advantage of. If they insist on the other quote, I would challenge them to replay the call, as most companies record their calls today.

Our hot water tank started leaking on Friday. We called our heating/ air conditioning company who would replace it for $1200. We tried a former heating /air conditioning company who put our last tank in 13 years ago. They wanted to come to our house and would quote us a price here. I spoke to mgr and I insisted on a price first. They quoted me at $2200.
I called a plumber we had used and he recommended Mr. water heater. We called and were quoted a price installed for just over $800 for a gas heater with 12 year warranty. They came first thing the next morning and were very professional. Took the old tank away, changed some fittings and moved the expansion tank. We were very happy using them and believe they offered the best price.p and great service.

I had a new hot water tank installed by Mr. Water Heater. One month later we had a pipe leak on the pipe they installed. They came and repaired but blamed us for putting pin holes in the pipe. Who would do that? Anyhow they did repair it with no additional charge. One year later, same spot on pipe broke and now we have a big leak. It's Sunday and they want $150 for Sunday $75 service fee and $35 per hour labor.
We explained that it is the same problem they said they fixed 13 months ago and could they waive the $150. Nope they would not and they also reminded me that they had a record that we made pin holes in our pipe.hahah. Like I said, who and why would someone do that. We chose to forget about them and explore another plumber available on a Sunday. I recommend you call Roto Rooter for your plumbing.
The plumber was exceptional and informative. He took one look at the leak and said someone basically put a temporary fitting on your pipe and it is lucky to have held for as long as it did. They also did the job for less than what Mr Water Heater quoted us. Mr. Water Heater was wrong and refused to accept responsibility.

Purchased a new water heater from them in 2010 with a 6 year warranty for $699.00. It let go last night. They came today to replace defective water heater under warranty. Was told I needed a new expansion tank and pressure regulator as well. Total cost for labor and parts was $605.00. This is your idea of a warranty? Not a happy camper.

Just had my new water heater installed. As in the ink is not even dry. They stayed at the price I was quoted over the phone and website. Yes I could have gotten it cheaper if my hubby installed it but he is out of town for work. They come within the time frame they said and the man was friendly and fast.

I was living in DC and my tenants in Pittsburgh called me in a panic because the hot water heater broke. I called Mr. Waterheater that afternoon and the next day, they came out and installed a new one. I was able to make all of the arrangements (appointment time, payment, etc.) over the phone and my tenants reported that the technician was v. professional.
About 6 or 7 years later, I'm back in DC.and the water heater broke (yes, I'm back in Pittsburgh and for the sake of my water heater reliability, won't be moving there any time soon). Mr. Waterheater honored the warranty, the only downside was a $100 service fee, but it was cheaper than a new tank. The only negative was that in both cases, the technician did not haul away the old tank.
It would have been nice to have that done, but certainly a minor thing, since my tenants were able to take the tank to the curb where it got picked up the next time we have trash collection.

Liked that I was able actually able to speak with a person when I called late night, and could schedule an appointment for the next morning. The tech was professional and since it was only the themocoupler that went, he didn't try to up sell me to a new tank. The only thing I didn't like was the automatic $80 charge for them show up. Otherwise the prices were reasonable.
