I recently had SpacePak installed in a 100yo bungalow and I was very pleased with the professionalism of the team. From planning through install the team was highly professional, proactive, flexible and respectful of my time and property. They were not the cheapest but the overall experience was so painless that it was well wort it in the end. A special shout out to Cesar and Michael who handled the installation.

They worked hard, showed up on time, had positive attitudes, kept me apprised of changes, were respectful of my property, handled changes professionally and finished when the said they would. It's too soon to comment on support and effectiveness but the install went very well.

I had a fantastic experience with American Vintage Homes. They replaced our HVAC system. They were very honest and upfront with the costs and were always responsive. Bobby and Ian did a great job. I can not say enough wonderful things about my experience with American Vintage home. I have a very quirky 1910 farmhouse. I have used several other plumbing companies over the last 20 years and have never found anyone who knows how to fix the old systems properly ( or at all). I called American vintage home 2 weeks ago for my 1930's boiler that had a leaking pipe. Matt was able to solve my 20 year on going problem!

I was so happy that someone finally took the time to figure out the issue and resolve it! Two weeks later, my hot water heater cracked at 2:00 in the morning. I had water gushing from the bottom and could not shut off my corroded valves. ( to the unit or my main) I called American vintage home and several other emergency plumbing companies. AVH responded promptly and gave me great advice to get the water shut off by calling the village to shut the water off at the street.

That worked! They arrived in the morning during business hours ( saving me the emergency, middle of the night charges). We quickly ordered a new hot water heater ( thank you David B ) and had it installed. Spencer and Mark were nothing but professional, friendly and got the job done. (Walter also helped with valve shut off )They had to work in a very tight space, re-route water lines and repair two shut off points.

I have met at least 7 of the incredibly professional plumbers over the last few weeks and all have been fantastic! ( including the office staff answering the phones) I will continue to be a customer and will ALWAYS call American Vintage Home first! Thank you for saving the day and restoring our heat, water and a hot water heater. My hero's!

Jerry came out the same day that I called after his workday because I had been without my sewer draining for 6 days because of another company, even though I live 30 miles from Evanston. He is the consummate licensed plumbing engineer and customer service representative. Jerry was able to diagnose and plan for what the problem was and what had to be done.

Eventually the estimate came in $5,000. less than a previous estimate and was completed by Spencer and Tyler were professional, efficient, and effective with the complete job, even the repair of the damage, done in half a day. I was impressed so that I will subscribe to the service plan to have the peace of mind of having this company help me keep my home safe, comfortable, and growing in value.

This is the second time we had Tim provide plumbing services for us. Last October he did an excellent job installing a new hot water heater. Yesterday he repaired four bathroom faucets, two shower mixers and replaced a rain shower fixture. He is knowledgeable, efficient, and easy to work with. We have recommended him by name to our neighbors.

Curtis was very professional and also friendly. He came for a seasonal servicing and walked my through what parts needed to be replaced today and what issues needed watching, but could wait. I decided to replace the humidifier after we talked it through that it was more cost efficient to do that then replace the valves and parts that were the problem, because replacing those parts could uncover other issues that would almost bring the cost to the cost of a new humidifier, plus warranty.

I would describe all my interactions with AVH as courteous, professional, and satisfying. They are real people giving real advice. Today Curtis serviced our heating systems. What a positive experience! I can't say enough in praise of everyone at American Vintage Home, from the quick and courteous scheduling by the office staff to the service provided in my home by Nick. Home repairs can be super stressful but Nick was efficient, and explained each step clearly when he replaced the century old pipes in our bathroom and dramatically improved our shower and sink drainage.

Van:2739029 almost caused a major accident by driving recklessly and dangerously on West Cermak Road. He attempted to beat traffic by going on the shoulder and speeding up. Then cutting me off and the van nearly hit the car in front of him. It was unnecessary and selfish.

I live in a vintage building and had a leak in the radiator. Dominick was friendly and professional. He knew his way around this building and made it super easy for me and he finished the job in less than 10 minutes. I will wholeheartedly recommend American Vintage Home to all my friends.

Worst plumbing job imaginable. Ended up having to hire a different plumber after paying this company over $500 with worthless results. Came back a second time but never did the job or refunded since they didn't do anything to correct the issue. Take your business elsewhere if you are smart. I will continue to leave this review on Yelp until I get a refund.

Deceptive Pratices / Fraud Alert Do Not Hire American Vintage Home (AVH) has engaged in deceptive practices in order to charge me more money than initially quoted. It appears they are using a bait and switch method where the initial quote was lower in order to secure the contract; however, the ensuing work then "uncovered a new problem" that more. than doubled the initial quote. AVH was hired July 20th 2021, to complete a comprehensive inspection of a sewer line repair that resulted in a work proposal of approximately $8,000.00. As part of the contract to complete the work, AVH was supposed to provide video recordings of the work prior to and after the work was completed. During the work.

I had a gas leak at my old boiler and pipes. A 24/7 hvac guy couldn't handle this work and recommended American vintage. American vintage gave me costs for a repair vs replacement of the boiler. They sent a technician out ASAP and did the work quickly. Highly recommended! I've signed up for their annual home service plan Services: Install heating system, Repair pipe

American Vintage came highly recommended to us through SpacePak's corporate offices. I reached out to them to find a certified tech who would come take a look at the condenser, SpacePak unit and humidifier on a home we are in contract to purchase when our inspector mentioned a second opinion on it should be done. Based on those initial thoughts from our inspector we were overwhelmed thinking that this would be a heavy cost which could ruin the entire deal.

American Vintage's owner personally reached out to me after I spoke with customer service, even though we are into a cold month he assured me they could help. He was very kind, knowledgeable and understood my concerns. He agreed to send someone, thus giving us great peace of mind we weren't walking into a possible costly consequence. Our tech came out and was great! knowing the background provided to the company he could have very easily "taken" us for something, anything, suggesting it needed some sort of repair or maintenance but he didn't.

He assured us it was in excellent condition and everything looked great and that there was no need for anything further. We are so grateful and will definitely call them for any future needs should they arise

We had all of our horizontal water lines replaced and a main shutoff valve installed. The price was competitive enough and we valued their expertise in working with older homes. Overall would recommend the plumbers at AVH, they were obviously more than qualified and provided excellent work and explained everything in detail as they went and were very patient with answering all of our questions.

The only difficulty was working with their scheduling and central office staff. The communication wasn't great, and the entire process actually took very long and required a lot of follow up from our end with asking what they needed to do with the city and permitting and scheduling. I think they've resolved this and had some changes in office but just be aware that it's not a hands off approach when working with AVH. Hoping the quality of the work holds over many years because they did a great job as plumbers.

We decided to get a mini split AC installed in our 100+ year old condo. Our experience with American Vintage Home was great. We liked everyone we worked with. This company are a bunch of crooks. They try to intimidate people into paying for unnecessary services. They are dishonest about pricing and when I tried to cancel my annual service agreement, they agreed but continued to charge me for several months. I've still not received the promised refund after several phone calls. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

To respond specifically to your question, Rich: After working with this company for two years, I can say without question that your entire business model consists of unnecessary upselling to the point of being almost criminal. I've been told to update my working AC unit ASAP! this year without the "tech" even looking at the unit. Then he offered to clean the unit site unseen for a mere additional $600. Umm. what?

All other quotes to clean or replace my HVAC were less than a third of what you charge. Three months ago I asked for a refund of what I've spent on the annual maintenance plan for this year and to cancel my existing plan as I do not agree with your shady business practices to which Kevin agreed on the refund of what I'd paid for the year and the cancellation of the annual plan. I've continued to be charged every month since. I've had to call your company no shortage of 7 separate times and this is still unresolved.

The person I spoke with today said I was wrong about the agreement to refund me more than 2 prior months and wanted evidence of this agreement. He didn't care that I was going to post a bad review. So here we are. Look out for my reviews wherever your business is advertised. To customers. Do yourself a favor. avoid the headache. Go literally anywhere else.

I urgently needed a plumber in my 50-year-old condo. Some plumbers simply won't work on old condos. Some (including the plumber recommended by my condo's management company) charge outrageous fees. Tony Escanio routed out a clogged shower and did a few other things. He explained everything but worked quickly. A courteous man who listens.

The charges were substantially less than other plumbing companies quoted, I recommend American Vintage Home's Service Plan. For a $12 monthly fee, you get a discounted charge on services such as installing new bath fixtures. These actual/reduced prices are written down, not created on the fly. In a building with 50-year-old pipes, a plumbing-service agreement was a good investment for me.

I have an annual service contract with AVH. I needed duct work in my home. AVH comes to my house, designs the work, I pay 50% of the cost. THREE (3) months later of calls and calls to schedule work. It is still NOT scheduled. Scheduling is NOT the customers convenience. Hard to recommend a company that can't even schedule the work. I had to find a new contractor.

We contacted American Vintage Homes after experiencing years of SpacePac issues. Brian professionally and quickly evaluated our unit and came up with a plan that Mike perfectly executed. All of our issues resolved and our system is better than ever. Mike was timely, professional, and personable. Mike was able to solve any problem he encountered, including having to work through a morning long power outage. We have been enjoying reliable air conditioning for the first time since purchasing our home five years ago and are very satisfied with the service provided.

Plumbing- Over the course of 5 years, I've had 3 plumbers from large and independent companies assess my leaking toilet. Each time they came out, they simply replaced the wax ring- a quick fix, rather than getting to the root of the problem. After the 4th failed wax ring replacement, it was Gus from AVH who accurately diagnosed a leaking cast iron pipe in my 1909 built home. Gus was knowledgable, tidy, and used a mask during his appointment at my home.

Another plus was their customer service/scheduling department. When I explained that I had multiple plumbers assess my leaking toilet, the scheduler assured me that they would send a veteran plumber to my home, which they did with Gus. They were able to schedule my appointment within the same week as my service request. While AVH is more on the expensive side (e.g. 4 stars), I would have saved money had I hired AVH from the beginning. So in sum the pros of AVH are: * Quick, easy scheduling with attention to detail. * Knowledgeable staff

American Vintage Home has come out to my place a few times this year and done an amazing job. They are super responsive and consult responsibly. I, for example, was advised not to have rush service performed on something because he noted that it would cost me more and would not be worth it. He assessed that the issue was not critical and was right and saved me money. Also, the person I had in today gave me tips on do it yourself fixes to the toilet. I thought that was pretty cool. He also did a great job of fixing the valve that is beyond my do it yourselfer ability.

Apparently, they want to pick and choose their clients. An engineer spent at least an hr at our two flat and was supposed to provide estimates for two separate systems. He didn't send anything--I called the company, but still no follow up. The thing that was most baffling was when he was looking at my hvac he said.he gets paid thousands of dollars to design systems. I thought well what is it your doing now, right? Very confused by the whole lack of follow through and disinterest.

I am a recent first time home owner and I purchased a new higher efficiency (more $$) AC / HVAC from this company summer of 2019. Since then they have recommended service calls multiple times a year, each time. they have came they have dropped the metal vent on my wood floors, denting the floor. They are also saying I need a new motor to start my AC after only having it two years. This company has not been respectful of home and has recommended excessive service, I would not recommend them to anyone.

Wow! I am impressed. The service was great. The pricing reasonable. The technician was knowledgeable and so thoughtful. After today's one-year service check, I am very happy we went with them on our new installation.

I've asked the technician twice to wear a mask while in my home and he is right now in the kitchen without one. So if you have people in your household who are at risk or too young to be vaccinated, chose a different company.

I called this place because of their positive reviews. I agreed to have a pipe rodded that runs from my house to the sewer. Next thing you know, the guy they sent caused a flood in my finished basement. He disconnected my sump pump, when it was full from a big ice melt the night before. He never mentioned he would be dis-connecting my sump pump and clearly didn't understand the ramifications. After they came into my dry finished basement and flooded it, they took no responsibility, I had to file a homeowners claim. Do yourself a favor, call someone else.

Chris came out very professionally and gave a complete inspection of our home. He provided great knowledge about plumbing and came back the next week to do the work. I am very happy and will definitely call on them again. I got discounted on everything because I am a member.

Robert was excellent. He arrived on time, was able to diagnose the problem quickly, ordered the part and returned to fix the leaking sink. I highly recommend him. He's pleasant, cleaned up the area perfectly and was outstanding!

STAY AWAY. Over priced. Office staff is awful. First, really really overcharge on everything. You're better off going anywhere else really. It's insane the up-charge they charging people especially during a global pandemic. And the people that answer the phones in the office are quite incompetent - I have had this company come out to my condo. now and each time there is an issue.

Every single time - they mess up. And it's always the office staff. It's either they tell you the technician is coming out at 9am - and then they say oh no, we actually meant 9-11 and then they try and tell you you're wrong and they just don't give out certain time on time ranges - but that is what happened. And.

My technician, Dominick, is fantastic. He is professional but friendly and really knows his stuff. I always feel confident in my service after he has been here.

Very friendly employees who do really good work. My only issue is that I was charged $182 for PH neutralization rocks that I later found online for $23. Installing these rocks is very simple and was something I could have done myself.
