Just had my Bi-Annual service done with Matthew McCall completed this evening and he was great. He was very detail oriented in cleaning the outside unit and unfortunately had to go into the attic to change out the filter but he was able to get everything done quickly as it was so hot up there. Appreciate all of the updates from the office as well with his arrival time. Thanks for the continued great service.

Josh and Dillon came out to install our new heating and air unit. They were great and a very professional crew. They did not to hesitate to answer any questions that we had and explained everything very well at the end to make sure that we knew how everything worked. I couldn't be more pleased with Derrick and with Five Star. It's rare to work with such a responsive company. It was easy to get an appointment for a quote. They let you know 20 minutes before the person arrives. Derrick was on time, professional and personable. The quote was simple and straightforward. It was easy to schedule the actual work. The new water heater was installed quickly and neatly. Derrick was a pleasure to deal with and actually refused a gratuity. A lot of integrity and knowledge. I totally trust this company.

They were absolutely wonderful. We needed our sewer line replaced, and they were quick to come out and replaced it in 2 days. They were professional, compassionate, and explained everything effectively. We were devastated by our situation and they were accommodating, helpful, and got working quickly. They were thorough in their report, inspection and repair. They even put down grass seed and straw when they were finished. We highly recommend Five Star Plumbing.

I had the most wonderful experience with Josh today. He was personable, professional and explained every step of what he did. He was at my house to inspect my furnace. I bought this house recently and I was not sure what state my HVAC was in. He was very thorough. He wore is booties and was very respectful of my home. As I expected the filters were filthy.
It was a shock to find out that there was mold. After answering my numerous questions, he installed a UV light systems which I needed. Also, I wanted 2 new thermostats. He was patient and helped me set up the app on my phone. Then he answered a gazillion additional questions. I was thrilled with the entire process. Josh went above and beyond in helping me today. I feel confident that I am in good hands. I will be sure to recommend Five Star and Josh at every opportunity that I can.

Though I ultimately went with another company, my first encounter with Five Star came when Derrick showed up to give an estimate. My first impression left me wishing I had used Five Star for previous work. Derrick was professional, knowledgeable, not bothered by my constant questions, and very easy to communicate with. He replied quickly to follow up questions and treated me as a person, not a sale. I have no hesitation in recommending Five Star based on the first impression created by Derrick.

This was our first HVAC inspection with 5 star. Jason K was terrific. He took his time going over our system explaining how a heat pump was different from the system we were used to in our prior house. He let us know the issues with the humidifier that came with the new home and provided us with a written estimate to fix them. He wore a face mask at our request and put on shoe booties every time he entered the house from outside. First class operation!

I have had great luck with FS. Derrick Oyervides did an excellent job replacing our kitchen faucet. We then decided to have two new toilets installed. Derrick's work ethic is perfection! Kept our house clean, worked diligently and thoroughly. At the end of his work, he double checked his work for completeness, made sure he had all his tools and made sure the work area was clean. My one year inspection was just done, sorry I don't remember the technician's name but he was very nice. The young lady who does the scheduling and reminder call is very nice also. The annual inspection fee of $289 hurts a bit but it is required for the warranty to be honored. They installed my heat and air unit last year and I have had nothing but good dealings with everyone.

We were told the repair guy would be here between 8 and 9am, showed up at 930am. Then had to Google the name of our tankless water heater to get info on it. Then spent pretty much the next 2 hours on the phone with the manufacturer's Tech support, so pretty obvious he had no clue what to do. When I mentioned maybe we needed a more exp. tech to help us, he claims he "installs these all the time." Then without using a manometer to test gas flow levels, without cleaning the ignitor rod, he finally gets off the phone and then tells me we need a new ignitor unit even though he ran no tests.
Then tells me its going to cost $350! To install a $9 part that simply snaps in right in the front?! I called Noritz's tech support myself and they had their entire conversation noted. Five Star's guy was given all the steps, which he didn't do, but jumped ahead to the end when he was told "when all else fails, it may be the ignitor." He also told us our 12 year old unit was on its last legs and he was surprised it lasted this long - the Noritz tech guy laughed and said their units last 20+ years easy, much longer than the larger tank water heaters.
The Five Star guy just BS'd me all morning, what a waste of my day. Ordered the part ourselves and Noritz said to call them back, that they'd be happy to walk us through it. Our neighbors told is they get regular maintenance done for $150 or so each year The Five Star guy told us if we paid the $350 for the install, he do the maintenance for "free, which would save us $450." Needless to say, we do NOT recommend this company at all.what a train wreck.

It is not uncommon for companies to advertise great customer service a lot less common for companies to actually provide good customer service. Five Star actually provides great customer service, I recently had an issue where an error was made almost a year ago. Five Star came and reviewed it and 3 days later a crew was at the house taking care of the situation. No questions no fuss. They stand behind their work. Larry you have a great organization. Our air conditioner wasn't working properly. We just moved to the area and they had great reviews. However, they got to our house and priced us out for three different options. We were told the cheapest option would probably fix our problem and it was $891. So we chose that option. However, 24 hours later our air was not working again. We were told that they would come back out and do 2nd go no charge.
When we called them back and they now gave us a new problem/option. For a discounted price of $1000 we could get them to come out and fix it. Donnie does not know what he is doing and loves to up-charge for work. Sorry not wasting anymore money on them! They are crooks. What they did normally costs between $100-$250 (we've called around the area and Asheville)and they took us for granted! Did I mention when I looked at the paperwork signed us up for a annual service for $289. Worst company ever! I would never use them again or refer them to anyone!

Don't use these guys for plumbing, especially if you're new to homeownership or unfamiliar with your plumbing system. They convinced us that what should've been a relatively straightforward fix (I learned later) was actually a week-long project involving the replacement of our entire plumbing and water system. When we got the quote, they told us our plumbing system was not functioning and basically draining into the crawl space.
Later in the week, when I asked about info for insurance, the head guy told me insurance wouldn't cover it because it was "unnecessary." He also assured us they were taking pictures of everything along the way, but at the end of the week we got a handful of unclear photos of the same one section of pipe. Don't use this company if you don't want to pay an exorbitant amount for unnecessary work that they'll try to convince you is necessary.

Put in an new system, insulated attic, and I could not be happier. I was little worried when the salesman( Devin) suggested dropping from a 5T to a 4T and insulating attic, but he was right on the money. System in for few months now and monthly savings on power are incredible ( actually enough to make the payment on new system) The temp in each room is even and never fluctuates.
The install team was amazing and answered all my questions or concerns. I was also impressed with the final quality check week later just to make sure everything was correct. I probably wont ever need another system, but for anyone that does this is the company to go with. BTW, the is the first review I took time to write but five star deserves it. Great job and thanks again.

So the pilot light wouldn't light on our water heater so I called Five Star, the company that installed the water heater. Well, instead of a technician they sent a salesperson who tried to convince me I needed to spend $4560 on a whole new water heater and that I had to pay for a monthly service plan to get that "great price"! FIVE STAR will rip you off to whatever extent you allow them. I got a real technician who fixed the problem for just over $200! DO NOT LET FIVE STAR NEAR YOUR PLUMBING!

Our downstairs AC stopped working Friday night. After a call Saturday morning the service representative promised someone would arrive that day, but it might be in the evening. The technician showed up at 8pm and was friendly and attentive even after a long day of working. Realizing the issue was a simple fix caused by our drip pan being full, the technician corrected the issue and ensured all was in working order.
We have an annual service plan and when we received our invoice, it was for $0. Even after the same day service, and a 2-hr drive time for the technician, it still didn't cost us anything. Even with similar service plans, other companies surely would have charged us for after-hours and same day service, but not Five Star. Can not recommend enough!

When my home warranty company could not get someone out to our house for 6 DAYS in 90+ degree SC heat, I knew we had to go with a different option! I called Five Star at 9am on a Friday and they had a service technician out the SAME DAY. Everyone I spoke with, from the initial call, to the lady in dispatch, to the service tech were so friendly, polite, and helpful.
I was blown away by the service. Have not experienced anything close--ever! Donnie Davis was our technician and he was so personable, friendly, and most importantly, HONEST, about what our options were. I cannot recommend this company enough. I will not be going with anyone else for our HVAC or plumbing needs going forward! Wonderful experience!

What to do when your air conditioner decides to stop working late Saturday afternoon when the temperature outside is over 90? I would suggest calling Five Star! I contacted them Saturday late afternoon via the internet site chat line. I have to admit that I did not want to incur an emergency visit fee so I asked for the soonest appointment Monday morning.
A staff member called me early Sunday morning and offered to have someone sent out immediately which I declined. An appointment was set for Monday. They called to confirm arrival time and once again called as they were on their way. They arrived and fixed the problem. The workman fully explained the issue and necessary fix. The cost was very reasonable. Very professional company and staff.

This outfit should change their name to One Star Plumbing Heating Cooling @! Six weeks ago I heard their paid radio program advertising an inexpensive tune-up/inspection for new customers. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday with no problem. The rep called me to confirm the appointment and ask if I could move the appointment to Monday. I told her I specifically asked for a Saturday appointment because of my work schedule.
A man called me back in a few minutes and explained that they reserve the weekend for emergency call-outs. I explained why I needed the appointment to be Saturday and that is the way they are going to have to have it. So much for being a ethical company run by people who keep their word. Thanks for nothing. Steer clear unless you want to get burned.

5 star has the most knowledgeable and courteous associates you could ever want to invite into your home for service. They are timely and polite. We have used them for electrical, plumbing and we also had them install a new heating system. You could not ask for better. So far we've really appreciated five star. Devin came out in the summer to look at our unit. He fixed it and told us our best option with the pricing. Then we purchased a new home (to us) and had David come out to look at it today. He broke all the bad news to us (because our unit hadn't been taken care of and was old) but it was very helpful to understand what was going on.
He spent his time inspecting everything. Of course no one wants to spend money replacing a whole unit, but thank goodness for his thorough inspection! Would definitely recommend them!

I had a problem with communication over the work that was going to be done and the cost. However, the true character of a company only comes out when there is a problem. After I wrote the owner an e-mail expressing my disappointment, he called me back, apologized for the technician not having communicated what he was doing beforehand, informed me that that is not their standard practice, and actually refunded me for the charges that had not been discussed prior to the work.
Sometimes problems arise with any company, and I can say from my experience, that Five Star deals with issues in a kind respectful manner and truly do seek good customer service. I would recommend them and will use them again the next time I need a plumber.

I had a pop-off valve leaking by. Had Five Star come out and Paul gave me an estiimate to replace pop-off valve. Said he would reroute my drain line for free. Yeah, right. The pop-off valve was 451.00 and he tok more copper pipe than he replaced. I WAS THE FOOL! His other option was over 1,000.00. Never again! Pop-off valves are between 20.00-30.00.
