Jay's was great. I had one of their plumbers come out to replace shut-off valves and a faucet in my bathroom, and the folks at Jay's coordinated the building shut off with my condo association and made the entire process super easy. They were clean, quick, and did great work.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value We have used Jay's for years. Something happened when it was sold. We have never been talked down by a business before. This place is completely out of touch with reality. IMHO $6200 charge just for labor to install tankless water is beyond insanity. And they do not disclose their rates over the phone. You must pay some $60 for plumber to come on and reveal that their gonna charge almost $800 per hour. What a waste of time.

We have had a few issues in the house (pipes freezing; pipes leaking) and Jay's has been incredibly helpful and responsive each time. They are very professional and courteous in explaining things we will use them for all of our plumbing needs

Jay's dug up our basement and installed new pipes across our entire floor almost 6 months ago. One of the pipes was exposed behind a wall so I called inquiring about it this winter. Without question they came back and insulated it giving me piece of mind over the winter months. Highly recommend, they do great work and are quick to respond.

We had a broken cast iron sewer/drain pipe in our crawl space. Limited space to work, yet 3 guys got in there and replaced all old pipe with PVC. Messy job, but never made a mess, cleaned up every speck of dirt, and, a year later came back to double check everything. Courteous employees, all of them. Service: Repair pipe

One Sunday after discovering our main sewer line had collapsed in our crawl space I called Jay's. They were out that same day and being on a 7 day work schedule it was at no "weekend charge". Analyzation of the problem followed by fixing the problem in one day and we are back to, well you know what we are back to. Professional, courteous, informative and engaging, both Jeff and Dan deserve a five, out of five, star rating.

Premium Price Grumpy Service The plumber was late by 50 minutes. The plumber was grumpy, he did not say anything bad to me, but it is hard to miss. The sewer line was only 7 feet. But he charged more because he has to put the camera 6 feet higher.:( I called and the charge was removed. Nonetheless, the motivation to do good work is not there.there is only motivation to identify every billable opportunity. :( To their credit, their equipment was good.

The service is great. And reasonable in their fees. I highly recommend!

This is an adjusted review after talking to the company. Initially, the quote presented to me was for triple the cost of a competitor. After my negative review, Jay's reached out, to their credit, to understand what they could have done better. There was miscommunication. However, their cost was still almost double that of what I paid elsewhere.

They would sell me a new garbage disposal installed for $525. The same one sells at Home Depot for $109. Installation is not $400. If I bought the disposal on my own, they quoted me at $668 for installation and rodding out the drain. Stephens plumbing came and did it for $290. I ended up paying 1/2 the price that Jay's Plumbing wanted. I knew exactly what I would pay at Jays with a firm quote, which is more often a good thing. I took a chance with another company that had a 1/4 hour rate. In this case, it seemed clear that I could save money going somewhere else.

We kept getting water through our laundry floor drain in the basement and a few companies came out to check it out. Jay's got a camera in the basement and discovered our pipes were falling apart as our house is 100 years old. The other companies rodded them out and said they should be good. Jay's went above and beyond to help and was the only company to actually solve our problem.

They dug the old pipes out, replaced them, and re-cemented our floor. Brian was so professional and explained everything in detail and was very patient with every question I asked. Highly recommend them and will always use them in the future.

Jay's Plumbing was highly responsive for our non emergent issue, and came to do an assessment within a hour of me calling. While here, Dan, our plumber, explained everything very clearly, and presented us with all of our options. We appreciated his professionalism, transparency and patience with explaining the situation. While actually repairing our pipes, he was quick and efficient, and educated us on future maintained. Cost was really fair. We really appreciated his expertise and will be using Jay's Plumbing again in the future. Highly recommend.

Bryan K. showed up promptly on a Friday night and was super knowledgeable, competent and helpful in diagnosing our problem (broken sewer line) and helping to get us a temporary fix until the Village can come to fix their portion. Walked us through everything he was doing and what happened to cause the issue. We would highly recommend Jay's!

We recently experienced a leak in an old drain line for our kitchen sink. I contacted three different plumbing companies and only Jay's Plumbing could respond within a reasonable amount of time. In fact, Bob from Jay's arrived that afternoon. He inspected the problem, made three recommendations. We selected one and two days later he and a co-worker, Eric completed the job as scheduled and on time.

They were courteous, professional and did a great job. Other than being expensive, my wife and I have zero complaints. We will continue to use Jay's Plumbing and will freely recommend them.

Front start to finish this company and team of guys were so helpful, courteous, on time and respectful. They really know their craft well and fixed a pipe that had been broken under our slab basement floor and into the bathroom. In and out in a day and a half. We are so grateful to you all, thank you!

Over priced. Plumbers consists of so many different guys with little experience. Will not use them again.

Small job, valve replacement on toilet a $20 part! Was quoted $354.00! Wow. He had two more advanced suggestions we didn't even ask for quotes after that price shock. We paid the $70.00 for him to come out and said good bye. Went to Home Depot for part, Watched YouTube video and had it fixed in less than an hour.

Won't use again and absolutely do not recommend. Very expensive, and they even started off trying to tell us the most expensive way to fix the problem was the only way. Yet they were able to resolve the issue a different way for less money. But still very expensive. And they zip tied their business cards to nearly all of our pipes in the house. Really? Now talk about over the top to try and get business, now we're left to cut them all off, and that also crossed a line that helped us to decide never to use them again.

The guys from Jay's plumbing came over to clear our ejector pump and they were awesome! I would highly recommend them due to their professionalism and approach to the problem.

I have one major problem with Jays Plumbing. The positive point is the plumber was very experienced and professional. He explained that the job COULD be a problem and would take time to repair. The negative point is the time element. I was given an estimate of 600 dollars for the job. Again, this could be a problem. The plumber fixed the job in about two hours.

He told me that it wasn't as bad as he thought. I was still charged the 600 dollars even thought it took less time than the estimate. The job required two valves and a trap. Bottom line. I paid the plumber about 175 dollars an hour for his services. If you want to pay a plumber 175 dollars an hour Jays plumbing is the place to go.

I received a phone call from my wife that Nicor shut our gas off because of a gas leak near our furnace. This was three days before Christmas and it was 20 degrees out. I quickly reached out to two plumbers and both gave me a song and dance that they didn't have the proper tools! So I called Jay's and Keith showed up. I showed him the leak and he looked me straight in the eyes and told me my gas will be on before midnight.

I am very grateful that Keith showed up and after three hours of hard work Nicor was called and turned on the gas about 1130pm. Thank you Jays and Keith! I have four children and they turned a very scary situation into "we do this all the time and relax". Wow what a company!

We had an emergency plumbing situation and my husband was out of town; so I had to quickly find a plumber! I was referred to Jays by another mom friend and loyal customer. When I called Jays the receptionist was kind and patient- explaining everything from pricing to training. I appreciate their pricing structure which is different than the other plumbers I called- they charge per job.

Not by the minute ( another plumber I called wanted to charge by every fifteen minute increment). After a detailed diagnosis- Keith provided me three options with flat rates. This gave me the choice for a total overhaul al the way down to a budget friendly smaller fix. Keith was never pushy and didn't rush me. He even helped connect me to other contractors/services (he called them and set up my appointments) to restore my area!

They take major cc, check and cash. And offer a loyalty program where you pay a small amount and future visits don't get charged an initial fee to arrive to your house- and they'll check most plumbing components in your house included in the loyalty price! I'm a big fan and can't recommend them enough.

This place is a rip off. My water heater went out late one night; I called them the next day to replace it with a tight timeline as I was leaving on a trip. They came out promptly (which is why this is 2 stars), spent more than an hour "writing up a quote" with "six different options" THE CHEAPEST OF WHICH WAS $1750, and the most expensive was $5500!

I was absolutely stuck as I had a plane to catch, so I picked "the cheap option" -- which based on cost of water heater should have been a total of a $500 job -- and forked over the cash. Avoid unless you are rich -- their service is very solid, but prices are 3x what they should be.

My review is based on my phone conversation with the person who answered the phone! She told me I have to make several appointments with different technician to get an estimate for my projects since the technician who will give me an estimate on backup sun pump can't give me estimate on bathroom projects!and it will cost me 65 every time they come to give an estimate?! Really?

Had an emergency with the latest deep freeze, Frozen pipe! KEITH came out and calmed us down and got to work, explaining every step of the way. Very professional and knowledgeable, will call again in future. Tony G. Lisle

Jay's Plumbing is the best. I could end my review there, but Keith who showed up to do the job deserves to be praised for his work. My kitchen sink backed up on Labor Day and Jay's Plumbing took my call the next day and Keith showed up two hours later. He called me at work and gave me a complete run down of the job, finished up a short while later, and called back with a followed up call. Everything worked great when I got home. We called Jay's for a couple seemingly minor issues (kitchen sink leak, back hose had a leak), and not only did David K come early, diagnose that the issues were considerably more complex, explained all the options, but he did it with a smile, expertise, and charm. He spent the bulk of the day at my house, fixed everything and even taught me a couple tricks as to how to keep my disposal running well (and it wasn't an issue, it was just quality advice) and helped me move a piece of furniture i was trying to assemble. Overall, i couldn't have been more pleased with this plumber, and this company. Highly recommend!

Very disappointed. I was looking for a quote on a job and they wanted to charge me $70 to provide me with an estimate. The website states 'All Estimates are Free. This was not a service call. I did not want them to fix anything. I wanted a quote on a job.
