We take extreme pride in the plumbing profession and we've been serving the San Diego area with pride and excellence since 2003. As a strong, family-owned and -operated full-service plumbing company, we provide honesty, integrity, and the highest-quality work to each and every customer we serve. Our team is experienced and trained to tackle a long list of plumbing issues and problems, and specializes in everything from water line repairs and tankless water heater installation to snaking and hydro jetting clogged drains, installing water filtration systems, and remodeling bathrooms.
Having indoor plumbing can be a major blessing most of the time, but today's plumbing systems aren't without their problems. Leaks can spring up, sewage can back up, water pressure can decrease, hot water tanks can burst, and faucets, sinks, toilets, and tubs can clog, leak, and break. But if you live anywhere in San Diego - from Chula Vista to Poway - Steele Plumbing is here to offer affordable and effective solutions for all of your plumbing problems.Whether issues are minor or major, expected or emergency, our licensed, certified, and professional team is at your service and at your door when you need us most.
Here in San Diego, we experience earthquakes and aftershock from time to time, and this shifting in the ground below the foundation of our homes and businesses can put a lot of pressure on the concrete slab itself. The problem is, when the slab shifts or moves, it can cause the water supply pipe running underneath your home to crack or leak - which means water waste, water damage, and health hazards. These slab leaks can also occur as the result of house settling or natural shifts in the ground beneath the home or business.

Excellent service. The pipe repair job was beautiful. Welding smooth. Repairman was polite, kind and certainly knew exactly what he was doing and completed the repair in good time. I've called Steele a few times over the years and will continue to call them for all my plumbing needs. Go Steele! Service: Plumbing pipe repair

Used these guys twice, first time saved me thousands on a house I bought with plumbing proBLems all the way to the main line in the street. Joe is the best plumber I ever met. HE RUNS VERY WELL TRAINED AND PROFESIONAL CREWS, AND HE SHOWS UP TO MAKE SURE THINGS ARE DONE CORRECTLY. And this is saying a lot for a guy like me that built commercial buildings and fuel facilities all over the US.

We had a urgent water heater situation. We reached out to Steele Plumbing right away. We knew we need to replace our old water heater. Laurie said it was no problem and they would track one down (despite supply chain issues) and would be there the same day! They did, Joe installed, got everything up to code from our old water, and even clean up the water mess! Steele Plumbing make a stressful situation easy and simple. They are responsive, reliable and just plain nice!

I called Steele Plumbing to assess a leak of our water line adjacent to the water main. As Steele checked out our line, they found the piping used to connect the main to our house was bad, complicated by the root system of a pepper tree on our neighbor's property. In addition, the material of the line was discontinued in the seventies, and in our case, it had deteriorated to the point it was unrepairable.
The plumbers set a new line, using copper piping, from the main to our house approximately 60 yards. This effort was further complicated as the line goes through a private driveway, and a neighbor's yard and driveway. Steele Plumbing navigated the complications and successfully installed the new line. Steve also completed a couple of unrelated adjustments for us. I am confident in the work done by Steele Plumbing and highly recommend them.

Both Joe and Laurie of Steele Plumbing was very helpful and kept me well informed throughout the process of repairing a house line gas leak. They got me an appointment quickly and was prompt, professional, and very courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and took care of all the county/city permits needed to get my gas turned back on. I highly recommend them and won't hesitate to call if I need their service again. Thank you Steele Plumbing!

I wanted to support local and they were very friendly and helpful. I had to get some piping under my sink redone due to a new sink. Their estimate was about 60% less than Anderson. They came when they said and even asked if I wanted to see and learn what they were doing and some things to prevent future issues. Great job and I will definitely be calling Steele every time!

I called Tues 1/21/2020 to schedule a plumber. I asked if they could come the next day, Wednesday, but they were unavailable since they were working on a church all day. I scheduled for Thursday morning from 8-9. I took time off of work on thurs and I called around 7:15 to confirm a plumber will be there. The lady I spoke to told me she never talked to me and neither did her assistant.
She kept asking who I spoke to, and just because I didn't remember the name does not make it my fault they didn't have me in their books. Here is the screenshot of the time I called on tues. maybe the two lady's can figure out with each other who I spoke to. So unprofessional and wasting people's time.

Steele Plumbing is top of the line! We had 2 different companies here for a sewer main break before we called Steele and they were the only company to diagnose the problem and give us a lasting solution. Joe and his team of skilled professionals arrived early every morning, worked very hard, and did an excellent job. The office staff has been very helpful and communicative. I highly recommend this company for all of you plumbing needs!

Steel plumbing was very quick to respond to my call. Lori and Joe came in and helped us to fix the pipe that burst. They have a very fast turn around and we're able to reroute all our plumbing to our bathrooms the next day. We have also used them a few times in the past and they have always responded quickly, been very good at explaining the entire situation and helped us to come up with a solution. We will definitely use them again if something were to come up!

I had 2 other pipe locator plumbing companies attempt to locate our sewer. Both claimed they had located the pipe but, as it turned out, were wrong. Joe, the owner and his helper, after several hours, were able to figure out the location and problem with our 50 year old pipe. They actually cared about getting it right and gave me the option to save some money by not relining the pipe.
In the end I had them reline the pipe at a reasonable price and they had it done the next day. They were knowledgeable, used quality equipment, and were a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend them.

Pulled into my garage and found a puddle of water on the floor.found out that my 1996 water heater was rusting and leaking! Laurie from Steele Plumbing gave me her cell phone to show me how to turn off and drain the water that evening. Joe Steele (boss) came the next morning and replaced the entire water heater. These folks are honest and quick to respond. I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs!

I have the water pressure regulator replaced when I bought my house. And several weeks later, my tenant told me that water pressure regulator is leaking slowly, maybe 1 drop a day. The plumber came and said it was condensation. They did nothing and just charged me $95. Several days back, I covered the regulator with a ziploc bag. Today I see around 1 spoon of water in the bag! The water pressure regulator is in the garage. How come there's condensation in both winter and summer?

Wow! what a great experience. Joe and Laurie were amazing from the start. I've had trouble with 2 plumbers in San Diego doing bad work and charging way too much before. Steele was quite different, Joe came shortly after I called and quickly diagnosed the problem we had with the heater, gave us an exact estimate and got it fixed the same day. Will use again. Thanks!

Professional, timely, courteous, and by the way did I mention Professional! I contacted Steele Plumbing at 7:00 in the morning, Laurie had the crew at my house by 9:30 the same morning. Joe and Randy evaluated the problem and showed me the problem tree roots in the ancient cast iron plumbing and offered me a two choices, a quick fix or permanent solution.
Since the problem would continue to occur we chose the permanent solution which was quickly completed. Joe and his crew did a fantastic job fixing the problem while minimizing damage to our landscaping. While they were here they evaluated and quickly corrected a problem with my tankless water heater. Steele plumbing will be my plumbers in the future. I highly recommend the Steele family plumbing co.

My experience with Steele Plumbing was not a happy one. They arrived on time and asked about the problems. They (there were 2 men that came) finished the work and I paid the fee (very expensive). One toilet kept cycling on and running a few seconds. When I called the office to ask that the plumber return and check it out and make an adjustment, I was told that the water pressure was too high and they wouldn't come back unless I had them install a new pressure regulator.
Why it wasn't explained BEFORE doing any work that nothing was guaranteed unless a pressure regulator was installed, I don't know. For that matter, why didn't they at least try to adjust the pressure regulator that was in place. I was also told that the toilet kept cycling on because of the water pressure and that there was no adjustment that could be made.
The woman on the phone was neither helpful nor courteous. I called another plumber who came out and made an adjustment and the problem was solved, WITHOUT having a new water pressure regulator installed.

I looked for & discovered a bad leak at my water meter after a $831 water bill for just the three of us, no irrigation. The city would not come look at it for 6-8 weeks. So I Googled plumbers and found Steele. I called and Laurie the dispatcher told me it's $142 to dispatch, plus repairs. As a contractor myself, I understand why prices are what they are. It's to stay in business, it's to keep the doors open! Nobody's getting rich. That's just the way it is.
She even offered to call the city as an emergency on our behalf. That proved to be a reason for the issue I had. So, on a Friday night, about 6:30 pm, two men from Steele Plumbing arrived at my door. I took them to the water meter out at the street. They agreed with me, the pipes are leaking on both sides of the meter. Not rocket science. They then told me that the union on the metered side was bad and that about two feet of pipe had to be replaced.
My wife came outside. She actually asked if it was just a bad washer! They said no, not a washer problem, bad union. The quote was $750 to fix. She then asked if that was the best price they could offer as we'd just paid our mortgage and that maybe it should be fixed by the city. No negotiating. The price is $750! I asked if anything else could be done. NO.
My wife asked if the city would fix it for free. "Don't know, don't think so. They might not even show up". We'd be without water if they began the job and the city showed up and put a halt to it. So we were pretty much without a choice. I told them to just fix it. They had to completely pull the cement hand-hole out of the ground. Then dig down around the leaking pipes. Mud was everywhere.
They cut the pipe 2 feet out. Then the city lady arrives! First thing she says to me (she thinks I'm one of them) "Why did you cut that pipe and why did you remove the hand hole?" Well, I didn't! They did. AND "All you had to do was REPLACE THE WASHER!" I was stunned. What? Then she realized I was the homeowner and immediately said "You don't look too happy right now". Ya think?
I went inside before I said something I couldn't take back. She had also mentioned to my wife that the city would have fixed it for free. In the plumbers defense, I'd have to ask, when? When would the city fix it for free? She was there only to access. So I paid them their $750 at 8:45 pm and got no sleep all night thinking I'd been had, and I'm a contractor myself.
On Monday morning, Laurie called me at my office. She was very concerned about my wife & I. She told me that the owner wanted to meet with me at my house. On Tuesday at noon, I met with Tom Steele who explained some things to me regarding the city. He showed me a patch in the asphalt where the city had been digging, probably pulled the pipes apart at my meter.
He told me that these city "doughnut shop employees" find it easy to make evaluations when they've never turned a wrench in their lives. He stood by his plumbers as a boss should. He did not toss them under the buss. He also admitted that maybe there were other options for his plumbers to consider. However, he took full responsibility for the situation.
He gave me my $750 check back. He explained that Steele Plumbing is in this for the long haul, not grab what they can and run like hell, like some local contractors. I respect that. Will I call Steele again? You bet. Everyone makes mistakes. As a contractor, I know things happen that shouldn't. Jim Dent Point Loma Electric
