Sturm Heating & Air Conditioning Sturm is a heating company installing coal and oil warm air furnaces and boilers. The company grew steadily to the point where it was doing large projects throughout the Northwest. The company now doing residential plumbing repairs. We are located in Spokane Washington, so if you do not live within 100 miles of us, traveling to your home for repairs or installation might be cost prohibitive.

I contacted this company with a clearly stated request that was met with continuing arguments via SMS that what I requested would only be possible after I paid $129 for a service call, and they agreed with my what I asked for. After explaining that I already had a diagnosis and parts for this 50yr old unit were not available, the company decided a phone call and live argument would be a better approach.

In response, I thanked him for the call and stated I was no longer interested in anything the company had to say or offer and to not contact me further. I immediately received another call from the company which I declined and then blocked the phone number. Next came a voice mail and yet another effort to argue the point. In reply I sent SMS to the company to not contact me again.

Today I received yet another call from the company despite my instructions to not contact me further. The arrogance of this big company trying to bully and strong arm me into submission is not appreciated nor will it be tolerated. It appears this company and its employees have lost focus on what customer service means and obviously don't understand that "no" - means. NO!

They honored a warranty issue I had with my furnace very well. I had them look at another issue while here. They sent someone another day to look and give an estimate. They ghosted me on one appt. and finally showed up another day. Looked at a couple of things and said the job would be about $300. Waited again to hear from them and decided to use another service. They then sent a statement for over $300 with no prior communication regarding service call fees, etc. Ended up using Home Comfort Services who were the best!

Just had a new furnace & AC installed by Sturm. Kip (sales) and Steve & his assistant (installers) were punctual, personable and installed a great furnace & AC. I couldn't be happier with Sturm and the people they employ as well as the Trane furnace/AC.

After leaving 3 phone messages and sending two texts through their website, it took them 4 days to schedule a quote appointment. The person was on time for the appointment to begin a quote. The appointment was on a Tuesday morning, I was told I would have a quote in a couple of days. I called to check on it on Friday morning, I was told I would have it that day, or Monday.

It is now Tuesday still no quote. This is all just for a quote mind you, I guess I don't want to find out what a headache it would be to have a new system installed by them.

I had them come out for the $99.00 furnace service special. I was totally prepared to hear we needed to upgrade our furnace or thermostat, or fix some mystery problem. He serviced the furnace said everything was working great, answered all my questions and charged me $99.00 I will most definitely use them again.

Our hot water heater quit. This wasn't exactly an emergency, but since both of my 80+ year old parents live with us, it felt like one. I was scrambling to find someone trustworthy to do this job. Sturm came through in a big way! Even though they serviced our air conditioner last year, I did not know they did water heaters. I was very happy to see their name pop up online. They returned my call ASAP and got the job done in no time! Thanks, Sturm for being awesome!

We had a Ductless unit Installed recently. Both men were very fast and experienced and work went very well. We like this system, and recommend Sturm to anyone who needs a new heating or cooling system.

The installed the system 3 years ago, and did a good job - no complaints there. Today it just stopped working. I called for a repair (because it's miserable out, and they advertise 24 hr emergency service) and the indifferent receptionist told me the soonest they could come out is 2 weeks! Cougar Mechanical came out the next day. So this is not really a work-related complaint, their initial install was fine, this is just an example of poor/ unconcerned customer service. This is exactly how to lose a customer for good.

Whoever installed the air conditioning motor in my home put the wrong voltage motor into the hvac hit and the AC never properly worked. It was so frustrating. Sturm came out and fixed it for me quickly and with quality workmanship. They were respectful, explained things succinctly, and didn't charge more than anybody else in town would have. It was an expensive endeavor because of the nature of the issue but I am really grateful for the service that Sturm provided. I now trust them for routine furnace and AC repair/maintenance.

Terrible experience. Not recommended. Day one of install. Came home to my son breathing in natural gas. They left the gas line open and went home for the day. I about passed out walking inside. Two weeks after install. GFI switch they installed keeps tripping. No heat for two day. No appology for any of their missteps. Yikes. Horrible company! Zero stars

I had them install a new central air unit for my home. They do extremely clean work. The gentleman working on my furnace found a few issues with my ductwork and fixed them while he was there! I will definitely work with this company again when I upgrade my furnace.

I called a Friday morning with water heater issues. Based on the age and several other "patch" jobs, we knew it was time to replace it. Sturm had a new tank installed by lunch Friday, and NO "emergency" charge. We've relied on Sturm for almost 2 decades, and they have yet to disappoint!

I was having issues with my heating for the last TWELVE days. It's been miserable. First guy gave up so I called sturm because they had the most positive reviews. Well, let me tell you.im so glad I called them! They were out shortly after I called. Repair guy called in a second tech for help, explaining that he didn't just want to install such a big part without a second opinion. They ended up locating the problem and fixing it without having to install a new board. This is an honest company. They have a customer for life with me.

4:39 Saturday afternoon, noticed I was cold, turned up thermostat, with no results. 5:20 called Sturm Heating for emergency service. 6:35 furnace repaired and house getting warmer, for just $214, thanks to Steve from Sturm. You guys ROCK! Thanks for the wonderful service. Scott Spence, Spokane

About a year ago I had an on demand hot water system installed. I notice that the boss mentioned "trained installers", this I'm not so sure about. The trained installer was about to mount the on demand unit about 18 inches off the floor, until we said wait a minute what are you doing? He said " thats what the instructions say to do" Then we pointed out to him he was reading the outdoor installation instructions.

By time it was done, he did such a poor job plumbing the unit it began to leak right away. None of the pipes were secured to the wall and they were being supported by the incompatible material joints he used. Even worse he did all the copper brazing in our basement instead of going out side. IE, measuring and building the system outside and then installing with a few quick brazed joints.

All the smoke alarms went off and the basement was full of smoke. After speaking to the boss and having the salesmen out to see their work the installer returned, unhappily, and correctly plumbed the unit. So here we are in 2016, one year later. Time to flush the unit, simple job about 45 minutes. Ya think? The hot water flush fitting is positioned directly behind the gas inlet line in such a manner that it is impossible to get a flush line onto the unit. And there you have the so called trained installer.
